I bought these because of this video. I've been using them for several outtings now, several Mountain House meals, and a few medium rare steaks, and they're working very well, no complaints whatsoever!
First of all, Aaron, thanks for focusing on camping (and EDC) gear that tends to get overlooked in a lot of the "survival" and "prepping" genre. For me, this is stuff that matters, because I'm much more likely to eat a meal (even at the office) than be at war with zombies. Secondly, I love me some UCO! I really think they are an underrated company, because SO many of their products are so well thought out, designed, and constructed. Thanks man.
Thanks for saying that, it's one of the reasons I love this channel, Aaron's showing Real World useful things not "what if" & "you Need this if..." stuff all the time.
Charles Collier I couldn’t agree more. Yeah, I don’t see myself fighting zombies any time soon. 😂😂😂
The 4 thumbs down has me puzzled. I understand the comment about carving your spoon but this is a nice setup and nice video. Keep doing what you're doing. 👍
Josh Wallace thanks josh
@@gideonstactical ps: just grabbed one of these at Walmart while buying steak. Works great and will be hard to beat at 5$. Thanks again
I think some people don’t know that they are tumbling down the video. I think they are reviewing the product. I thought the video was good.
Its cause he overcooks his steak
The spoon and fork being separate is a must for me. It being longer is a plus. Just recently bought an extra long, metal (just) spoon just for extra reach in the pot; move food on the fire; or reach all the way down the MRE bag without having to trim it.
Just this very UCO product today at Walmart, I really like it, bought 2 to fit in my 72hr kits for my vehicle.
I just picked up first one of these yesterday and it's because of watching your social media posts. I love mine! Definitely will be buying more for the family! Thank you!
Just saw and bought this at Sierra for myself and my mom for her first backpacking trip for her 60th birthday. I'm sending her this video because you showcase why a long utensil is important better than I could ever explain it.
Cool spoon/fork I have almost the same thing its the light my fire full titanium fork on one side it’s a spoon on the other end plus the last fork spike is like a little butter knife. It goes with my alpine scrubber a bush pot a titanium cup and two titanium plates and one titanium bowl love the setup. Steel wool for clean up love it. Plus it’s fairly priced at around $14 for a titanium fork/spoon.
One good thing about plastic utensil is that it won't scratch the non stick coating as much as the metal utensils! It is super helpful when you are eating right out of the pan
Very clever! I like it, the only down side to the glass reinforced nylon flat ware is that it melts easily....hot oil will give it that apocalyptic look. My dollar tree has silicone spatulas for a buck with the removable handle, I carved a shorty oak handle to keep it small and light....that keeps the nylon out of any skillet work.
I just bought one for my lunch bag which doubles as an overnight kit in case I am snowed in at work. I have a small stock of food in my locker for two or three days.
good video. picked up both the switch and spork at my local Walmart, got a week's worth of daily eating and cooking use in them...
Great review and especially the demo showing how it works with the Mountain House, because that is where i would be using this the most. Two reasons why i think this switch spork is cool:
1) you can separate the fork and spoon to eat normal food while camping (unlike a Light my Fire spork)
2) the combined length works with a dehydrated meal bag.
These two things make this a slam dunk for me in a camping kit
Great review. Thanks for all the competitive options. I️ feel like that really helps in decision making process to see all the other options side by side. I️ bought the UCO spork and really like I️t.
Brian Samonas no problem!
Looks like a great set up. Thank you. I’ve been looking for something like this !
Awesome Spork Aaron an thanks for showing this product Sir.
Before the video has even started, I saw those about 3 weeks ago at my local Walmart. When I tried to take it apart and put it back together, the tines of the fork stabbed me right on my finger tips. I like the idea and they look nice, but I chose the simpler solid combination spork/spoon model which you also have shown. They also should be easier to clean and be less likely to pick up food particles, dirt or debris.
That being said, I still like the 3 piece set. I just have to be careful not to stick myself and both products are well made. ( I guess I also have a thing for utensils just like knives and flashlights because I have like 8 different types and multiples of each. It's my addiction :)
I have this item and the other model the short one. Fantastic eating utensil they work incredibly well. Not a problem the knife is tight in the fork much cheaper than the Morsel . easy to clean .the knife cuts really well . the only utensils I can compare is the old U.S. military knife fork and spoon.
Yeah I tried this a couple weeks back and loved it too. This is a great little spork
I just pour mountain house meals into my mouth. That being said, i have this UCO spoon/knife&fork and its a good product.
The switch is more useful IMHO being longer. not concerned about the blade since I'm never without a knife. Thanks for the review.
Anyone else expected an automatic switchblade spork?
Patric Gasmen that would be fun
Haha, that would be great!
The morsel spork shown at the end of the video looks awesome , thanks for this , never heard of it , have just ordered one on amazon global to the Uk , I especially like the flexible spoon end , will use this at home and not just for camping , look forward to your review of it also
Been using one for a while. Awesome product
I do love a deep spoon but my wife complains that it keeps her awake. :'(
I just stole one from Walmart best decision I ever made great feeling and study would recommend to anyone
I picked one up last week. 😆
Looks great. Thanks for the review
Yeah, $5-7. Makes Gerber seem a little overpriced.
No Fair!! Eating steak and we didn't get any! How does the material used stand up to heat. Can these be used in camp cooking without melting? Thanks Aaron.
Thanks for a great review. I just got mine and is great.
Too bad the spoon is so small, it could have been the perfect spork. I have several regular, one piece UCOs, and the spoon is more like a teaspoon - not great for eating liquid foods, like soup. But it's usable.
Hey Aaron, when asked, which large blade chopper was the absolute best in your opinion for batoning? Which one comes to mind ? Ontario SP51 or ESEE Junglas ? Thanks bro
I own a SP51 and it works get but it is heavy and large. I have come to prefer my Ontario RAT-7. I don't own a Junglas so I can't give you feed back on that blade. Hope this gives you some useful information.
i was hoping to see it being compared to the gerber devour or compleat set
Just got mine at Wally world for $4.97
I've been wondering aboout these Sporks!
I have to say the knife is by far the least important option cause I already have a knife but I guess it good for working with the scared sheep everywhere.
Why would you get it on Amazon when you go to Walmart and get it for $1.95
Great review.
The extra long sport is $1.95 the regular sport is $1 at Walmart at the Walmart here in Las Vegas Nevada I don't know what Walmart you're going to but you're being ripped off
Fuking bladeHQ always out of everything I desire.
Spoon not deep enough
What is that steak? Well done? What?
Anyone else’s fork get stained by mac and cheese? Lol is that common or is ours phony? 🤣
i like to carve my spoon on the trail....don't cost a cent.
Plastic sporks are designed to add to the pollution crisis.
