Late to the party, but "post" genres usually mean that you take that genre and reject some crucial aspect of it in favor of other elements. Post rock takes rock and rejects riffs and solos in favor of texture, ambience and space with classical influences.
MONO is a Japanese band, but they are evaluated overseas rather than in Japan, and their activities are mainly overseas. They are an instrumental band, but there is only one song sung by a female bassist.

In 2014 they also had a song with vocals from the vocalist of the band Envy. The song "The Hand That Holds The Truth", but don't expect singing 😅
And it's really expensive in Japan so they went to UK. Hope there's much more Japanese that should know about them :)
