- This is the USA Campaign Playthrough for Command & Conquer: Generals.
Playing on hard difficulty which is actually 'normal' difficulty I believe with no commentary. Running on max graphics, game LoD set to off.
The game has been slightly modified to fit a widescreen resolution(1080p), a higher camera height (510.0), drawentireterrain has been set to yes(better quality textures), game compatibility set to windows xp sp3(enables the menu animation) and the game dynamic level of detail set to no(allows game to show full graphics).

RUclips has decided to demonetize my channel, including all my videos. Their reasoning is because of 'reused' content'. My gaming videos are of my own recorded gameplay and I don't reuse my content. One of the best things about this game was custom formations. You could lock units in a formation and they would stay like that. I made tank lances of four each and moved them like that and it was really easy to control
Ahhh...the game of my childhood...too bad I can't run it on my Windows 10! Its also from The First Decade! ...oh how I wish to crush terrorism once more...
you probably need to create a option.ini file for the game in my documents with the 'written'/code for settings and probably set the game to run in admin and compatibility to win xp. You should be able to find more info/help online.
I had problems running this game in win 7, but got it fix. However I don't have it installed in win 10.
I am running it on windows7.. I too had to create options.ini file in My Documents CnC folder so it launches, adjust resolution to my 2560x1440 screen in that .ini file, and set compatibility to winXP ServicePack2 so the main menu is animated + elimites other minor glitches.. My cousin with who I am playing it thru virtual LAN has it installed on shitdows10 and from all I know he got it running using the same things mentioned, however I am not completely sure about that.. I heard its a bit harder to make it run on win8/10 yet again I am not sure about it.. I hope you got it working or you ll have luck if you decided to try it again x)
(If not then I recommend win7 instead of 8 or 10.. god protect us from any new if worse crap they invent in the future)

heres the fourth year comment. thanks guys only im attempting to run this on vista ultimate shoved onto a 2015 mobo with a fx 8320e and a 650ti. retro gaming with one of the most visually appealing oses. will give xp sp2 and options a shot. having hell of a time with zero hour, had generals working must have screwed up my ini. also properly fixed turok 08. need to release a vid on that think itll run on every os and hardware that boot into it.

Well it's on the EA Origin store, part of the Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection. I also had to modify some of the files to get it working on Windows 7.

+Rafael Coelho Medeiros You need to edit a file called 'GameData.ini' inside the folder: Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI
- You may not have the file or folder, if so, you need to download a program called FinalBIG,
- use the program and open INI.big in the game directory,
- navigate and select Data\INI\GameData.ini and extract it under Edit.
- Once GameData.ini has been extracted, you need to move it to Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI folder (you may need to create the INI folder if there isn't any there).
- Open GameData.ini in notepad and find MaxCameraHeight and set the to what you want (310 is default, 410 is for 4:3 monitor, 510 for widescreen, or you can set it higher if you wish.) then save changes.
For setting widescreen resolution, in My Documents/Command and Conquer Generals Data, open options.ini and set Resolution to your screen resolution. Be sure to set your graphics/game/sounds settings in the game to what you want first before editing the options.ini, as changing the ingame settings will reset the resolution.

nice one as always... fwy you can capture the scud launcher and the sell it ... that way you get to keep the forces... and hope you fill the humvees... they do better fully loaded :D
Better yet, put some rangers into the humvees, take them into the enemy base, have them mow down the GLA rebels, then get the rangers OUT of the humvees and have them (the rangers, NOT the humvees) charge the Stinger site! Can someone say ZERO losses?

My version is from Origin as part of the Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection. I used some of the guides from pcgamingwiki to get the game installed and running properly as well.

EXCELLENT performance -- BUT I can do even better, I've regularly completed this mission WITHOUT losing ANY units AT ALL (except for that one Raptor in the cutscene)!
Does anyone know how to get this to work in Windows 10? I have the Deluxe Edition on disc, released in 2003... I never got to play it when I bought it back in the day because I didn't have a good enough computer, and then forgot about it over the years..
Are you still able to install from the CD? I do have the CD version but for my playthough, I used the Origin digital version. I set the game compatibility to windows xp sp3 in order to get the game to run and to use my gpu. I adjusted/modified a few other things like the resolution to make it widescreen and better quality textures. Ran with no problems on windows 7 except for a few cutscenes that were chopped due to the widescreen. Not sure about windows 10.

I played this game (and other C&C games) on Windows 7 with NO problems, until recently -- but then EA somehow f**ked up the new app and ALL of them have STOPPED working! I've tried to contact their tech support, but they're just telling me "OK, we'll work on it" but so far they HAVEN'T fixed it (it's been the better part of a month) and I'm starting to doubt whether they're working on this AT ALL!

Unfortunately this game is only available on EA Origin as part of the Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection. It would be nice if EA ever release this on Steam or make a remastered version.

I believe the track is called 'Uprising (GLA_09)' from the C&C Generals soundtrack.
