After this experience I bet all you see when you look in the mirror is your own Mii face. At this point YOU are a Mii, there's no going back to normality.
came for mii nostalgia, stayed for a deeply fascinating and philosophical retrospective that made me feel sad but hopeful inside, phenomenal experience all around
I'm glad you saw my intentions hehehe, I didn't try to make it philosphical, but I did try to make it personal and somewhat communicate how each of the games made me feel without making an obvious segment for it until the streetpass video. Even I'm surprised how well many of these parts fit together, like there's so many jokes about me having no friends that seemed like a pitty party for myself without the context of what I was trying to foreshadow for the streetpass video since 3 years ago, and I'm very pleased with how it fit together! I hope tons more people feel the same way about this marathon as they watch it in the future.
I really loved this, the title stung a bit in the heart, but these videos are a solid 10/10, the animation is amazing and unique, and the commentary is immaculate
Finally made it through! What a treat. Who knew the director's cut of the Smashed Tomatoes Miiltiverse would include 5 minutes of reviewing AKB48 songs :P Great pacing with both the individual part scripts and the intersecting / intertwined narrative elements, which is hard to manage with long videos like this - especially since they're far from your usual output (Well aside from the 'reviewing every X' videos, but those are different.). And the high effort 3d cinematics are, as always, super impressive and commendable given that this is a one-man operation (the one minor footnote I have is that whenever generative AI art showed up it took me right out of it. when everything from the script to the animations and editing and models are so high effort, they leave a sour taste and really add nothing that the official art and your editing+animations didnt already contribute) Thank you for this big marathon! And for all your videos. I hope I'll be able to watch them for a while longer, but mostly that you continue to shoot for what you want to do.
yeah, the generative AI stuff was there back in 2020 when it was so bad you could get a chuckle out of it, now it's just plain bad which doesn't leave the same impression. Like I prompted gotouchi tetsudo and it knew exactly what I meant, which was just disappointing, more so because AI companies started charging for their horrible diffusion slop that companies desperately want to use despite actively giving worse results, so even the joke of how bad they are would incur support, and I'm not for that. I decided to keep them for consistency, I didn't want people who are watching for the first time to know what's new if they where to just watch the video. I'm glad you liked the videos! They where really ambitious and I'm not sure I'll be able to do something of this quality ever again, but I really hope I get to, it's one of my favorite things to do, it just sucks that it takes more time than a full-time job but doesn't sustain itself anywhere near enough when the videos don't do well.
I love it too LOL, one of my favorite songs, particularly by the pixies. I remember that when I first heard it I was watching Lost, the show, an I actually lost my mind because like a week after I heard the song listening to doolittle, it just showed up for like 30 seconds in lost and the coincidence was insane.

I tease it near the end hehehe I didn't include it in this video cuz it doesn't really fit, it's mega long, a lot more developed, and doesn't line up with any of the storyline I envisioned for the video. Besides, the video does well enough on it's own, I don't plan to waste my viewers' time.
@SmashedTomatoes My first Dillon game was Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers, until I would play the others. It went from being in the wild west with touch controls to a post-apocalyptic adventure with D-Pad and A button controls. Vanpool improved the game hard in the third game, and I wish the series would get something new.
Wait, is AKB48+Me a Mii x AKB48 dating simulator?! Kinda reminds me of what little I know about Tokimeki Memorial. Overall, better than Wii Music. Also, there are AKB48 Mii Fighter splash mock-ups on the Smashwiki. I dunno where they're from, but they're incredibly funny to me.
Kinda? It's more of an AKB48 joining simulator, but you do get scenes with each of the girls where you get bonuses for answering what they like, so I guess it's A BIT dating simulator. Seen those splashes, omega funny LOL
It's just the most fun game for playing with someone I think LOL, I feel like ping-pong, golf or bowling are slower phased and less silly, you can have a good time with Swordplay even if you're not very good at it.

Yes, I used AI "art" during the Obscure Mii games segment. But of course, that's because the video was made originally in 2022, when AI art was more of a novelty than anything. Remember that AI art in that time used to be pathetically bad, so it was fun to see what a computer would come up with. Now it's just bad, which makes the technology adjacent to garbage, you can see in the rusty's segment that I only did it for the new segments for the sake of consistency. AI "art" was not used at any other point in the video, and I would never use AI for visuals because they quite literally just suck ass.
