- Greetings! Last week I make the peanut butter sheet cake. A few days later I made a chocolate Texas Sheet cake and posted a picture on Facebook. That was a mistake I will never make again because I did not make a video at that time and tons of people asked when I would be posting it. Well, here it is! Texas Sheet Cake.
This recipe is very similar to the peanut butter sheet cake and in fact this recipe concept could be adapted to just about anything you like. I am going to try it with orange and also with crushed strawberries, just for fun!
This is quick and delicious and it feeds a crowd. Great for picnics, family dinners and any time you need to feed a bunch of people a dessert or snack.
I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!

I love this recipe!! The cake is moist and delicious and the icing is yummy. I just pulled the cake out and waiting to frost it. Everyone needs this recipe in their toolbox! It surely does feed a crowd. Thanks Noreen!!
I love coffee in my chocolate desserts.
It intensifies the flavor remarkably well.
Awesome looking cake.
Ran across ur channel and haven't had a good Texas sheetcake in forever... Made one 5 days ago that was gone in one night and had to make another today! Thanks for the giggles and the awesome cake!
Oh my goodness... This looks so good. I missed the peanut butter one! I need to go back and watch that one.

I made the peanut butter sheet cake 2 days ago and there is only 2 pieces left. It is so GOOD!!! I am going to try the chocolate one and if everybody like it, (how could they not) then I will make it for my daughters birthday this month. Thanks for sharing it with us!!
LOL....hahahaha...LOVE the yoda voice hehehe! The cake looks yummy tooo. thanks!!
I think this would be super good as a snicker bar topping (peanuts and caramel drizzle) Oh nummuy!!
This would be fabulous with chopped pecans in the frosting, which I believe true Texas sheet cake has.
That was my mother-in-law's recipe. Yes, we're from Texas. And when I make it everyone comes a running; from my great niece to my husband. Mother, my past mother-in-law, past the recipe down to me for future generations. I pray the future continue the traditions.
Please put the ingredients at the bottom
Please provide a link to a written recipe
Crying for my Mom now! Thankyou!

I know I love those. My mom would beat the icing for hours but she could have done it this way. I could also eat nothing but the icing. yummy.
Best stirrer!
thanks so much for the recipe! you mentioned bacon syrup, that is something you could flavor powdered sugar frosting with and spread on french toast, it is different but very good.
Looks awesome ! I cant find the recipe or link to it :( Could you let me know where I can find it ? Thank you so much, I love your videos !
This looks yummy! PS I love how your camera man gives you baking tips. lol
How long will this stay fresh? I haveta make a few & take them out or town. Would baking Thursday be okay till Saturday?
That should be fine.
This looks really REALLY Time consuming, but it looks Fricken Tasty!!!
where can I find the recipe for this written
Now I am craving chocolate. LOL
Yes! This is delicious icing. Technically it is not ganache' but something called poured fondant. The same type of icing that donuts are traditionally dipped in.
Could you make this in a 13x9?
I looked this episode up because I wanted to make the coke cola cake. I have found a mexican sugar version of coke and I would like to try the cake with it in it.
WOW!!! Looks so good... good job, Noreen!!! Now did you say you use the full sheet cake pan or half sheet cake pan, can't remember? Would love to try this cake, we did the peanutbutter cake and it was delissshh!!! YUM!!! We have 1/4 sheet pans and one a little smaller. Have a blessed day, Candy :-)
Where do I click for this Recipe
OMG yum! That cake looks wonderful. I love that icing.
I'm so jellyyyyy I want it lol
Yes. I didn't know you could get sweetened cocoa powder. I thought all cocoa powder was unsweetened. Especially for baking.
Wear did u get those measuring cups I like that it shows 1/3 in it
Those are over 20 years old. I got them at the Amazing 99 cent store in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Glad I could help! I have a Facebook fan page called "What's for Dinner?" I stopped adding people to my personal Facebook page. I am reserving that for family and close friends. : )
Thank you for this recipe, Noreen! My mother was famous for her Texas Sheet Cake when I was growing up, and somehow I lost the recipe through the years. I remember some of the technique, as I watched my Mom make this recipe when I was just a very young girl. Thank you for bringing back a lovely memory for me. I'm going to make this today, in memory of my Mom.
Yes Candy! Half Sheet pan. The full sheets won't fit in a home oven.
yummy ..can i use box cake mix ?
Bless you Tally
Is this recipe written anywhere?
very nice pan Noreen
Darn, I made this when you posted the pb sheet cake but used a chocolate recipe from the internet with your pb icing. It was delicious, but I really wish I woulda done the coffee!! This gives me an excuse to make another one right? Right?!
Looks good!! Have you ever made a banana sheet cake? Our hospital cafeteria serves one that is rather addicting.
My few recipes for this cake asks for 4 cups of icing sugar at the end. Yours is very loose. Will it thicken?
It’s a glaze. It gets a crust as it cools. This isn’t like a frosting.
Is there an easy way to remove it before frosing so I can serve it out of home to a large party without the pan?
dapenneys not really. Just take the pan with you. Thats what I do.
Noreen, what is the name of the store where you buy your milk?
I ues pink salt for cooking and eating to for a few now ...yummy. I buy bottles to put my milk in because I love the look.....
This is delicious genache.
Hi, I don't think you have this recipe on the website yet.
Rebecca Skillman you're right. This was posted long before I had a website. This is one of those recipes I ask people to get a pen and paper and write down the recipe. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I love your recipes but what I wanna know is how in the world do you keep your stainless pans so clean lol
I luved living in N.C.
To make it less sweet?
Nope, this recipe calls for baking soda. It also has buttermilk in it. That is why baking soda is needed to make the cake rise. The acid in the buttermilk mixed with the baking soda cause the cake to rise. Baking powder is just 2 parts baking soda to 1 part cream of tartar. No problem.
This is a from scratch recipe. A box cake mix will not turn out the same. It will just be chocolate cake. This is very dense and moist. I doubt you will get the same result by simply baking a cake mix in a sheet pan.
Could you thicken with flour the sauce?
No. Not how this works. It's not sauce. It's icing.
No Cinnamon in the cake batter?
how many grams in a stick of butter?
I don't know. You could try looking up a metric recipe converter to find out. Sorry I couldn't help.
thats okay, you have some great recipes thanks for videoing them all.
unsweetened cocoa?
Just send two big pieces and double scoops of ice cream. Pleeeeze!
Link to print out?

@@noreenskitchenchannel Thank you!!!
i'm most certain that traditional tx sheet does not have coffee in it and it does have a little cinnamon.
thumbs up on the Mexican Coke!
I see you also have a rat terrier! :}
Be Blessed,
Cheryl
No, we don't have, nor have we ever had a rat terrier. We have had a terrier mix in the past, but she passed away several years ago. We also have a hound mix and two beagles.
Smart girl but Mexico has monsanto. What about fetal cells. 😣
I am through with mercury fructose.
You cook like me.
Looks delicious! Tfs. God Bless.
"I was smarter than that! "
Can you bang that spoon a little more?
You bet! I'll remember that for my next video!
we love love your baking!!! but, could you let the dogs out while preparing food. Thank you so much
+ Wayne Dawkins LoL..Why?
This great demo including stories about your ex-husband and an untrained camera operator - otherwise good tips. keep going.
you will have to halve the recipe.
And I thought you wouldn't use Coca Cola because you live in New Bern, NC, the birthplace of Pepsi Cola!
We actually hardly ever drink soda. Mostly because we don’t drink chemicals.
