Scatman Crothers, Chris Latta and Roger Carmel passed way too soon and always played the best characters both in front of camera and in the sound booth. Over the years we lost Casey Kasem as well, one of the most distinct voices ever. We still have a few of the old guys around, Michael bell, Peter Cullen and of course Frank Welker, among others
Yes 😁 Had no idea that he was in Star Trek (and a few of my favorite episodes at that). An entire generation of then kids emulate his 'Cobra Commander' voice even today (just look at Angry Joe and 'Corporate Commander' 😅)
Just an FYI, the footage of the two Star Trek captains is switched around; Kargan is the Klingon captain in “A Matter of Honor” and Grebnedlog is the Pakled captain in “Samaritan Snare”. I appreciate seeing the stand-up from Mr. Collins, over the years information on him has seemed pretty scarce. Peter Cullen stated at an early Transformers convention that Hollywood is a city that “devours its young” and that Chris was a victim of that.
Dammit!!! Thank you for catching that. When I looked them up to be sure the Klingon came up opposite in the image search. That’s sad to hear. Especially coming from a man who exudes empathy and compassion.
Great stuff buddy. Was thinking just the other day after watching The Transforners Movie I'd really like to learn more about the voice actors of my childhood. Cheers
3:24 this might be the funniest sound bite I've ever heard in my life. I'm going to start screaming it into the microphone whenever I play Call of Duty.
@@XiahouJoe yes but they never flat out said it was cobra commander and star scream was canonically dead. Or he was a ghost, and then came back? My point is he wasn’t in the episode.
This marks the 30th anniversary of Chris Collins final appearance where he voiced as Starscream, Cobra Commander, Wheel Jack and Mr. Burns from the Simpsons. May he rest his soul with the lord. 🇵🇭
Not sure. My guess it would have to with SAG (Screen Actirs Guild). Guidelines. They have weird rules about more than one person registering with the same name.
His birth name is Latta. His name was changed to Collins when his step father adopted him. He joined SAG and went by Latta because there was a performer named Chris Collins
Good stuff dude. Worlds Without End parts one and two could use more attention. Hasbroverse has a whole world of possibilities to build in that timeline's future. ☕
I talked to Morgan Lofting about what could be built in that universe with her and Steeler leading and building a new resistance team to rid the world of Cobra's rule. I would love to see her reprise her role as the lead of a new series in that universe. @@edwardweathers4636
To me chris latta will always be starscream and cobra commander
Indeed I am commander Starscream
Too true. He made Starscream and Cobra Commander legendary.
No competition!! His voice is just epicly dastardly, just perfect.
RIP Latta. Left us too soon. The gold standard for Cobra Commander and Starscream. TTnTT
Chris is talented doing voices for Starscream, Wheeljack, Sparkplug Witwicky, etc. His appearance on Star Trek TNG. He died too young. RIP, Chris. 😔😔😔
Chris Latta was great as Starscream. He set the standard for future Starscream actors. RIP Chris.
Can we just say he’s one of the greats ever in voice work.
An amazing man that made my childhood amazing! Love your background music choices too!!! COBRA!!!!
I wish he'd lived, he'd of been huge on the convention circuit
Imagine how rich he’d be off the SIMPSONS alone!

The man is a LEGEND ✊

This guy is like Cliff Burton, a legend who left us way too soon.
Super talented guy that passed way too soon!
He also voiced characters from the American version of Star Blazers back in the late 1970s. A talent man indeed.
I had no idea that Starscream played the Klingon captain in that episode where Riker is in the officer exchange program! I wish I knew that as a kid!
Man, what a talent 👏👏👏
Amen!

Too bad Chris Latta isn't still around. I bet he'd have been a blast at comic cons and on RUclips.
Even though I’m a TF fan and also watched G.I. Joe, for me Chris Latta’a most iconic role is Sgt. Knox on Star Blazers. RIP.
GREAT STORY!!! THANK YOU!!!!!❤😂🙏🫶👍❤️
Thank you for this video! I never knew he was that accomplished and that he did THAT many voices on both Joe And Formers.
I just watched an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation he was in. Captain of the Packled ship Mondor. Great episode
If he lived longer he woykd have been one of the first interbet stars
This guy was amazing
Dude, I cried. That was perfect.
LEGEND

Chris Latta IS Starscream and IS Cobra Commander. Nobody else comes close.
Hevwas great as Cobra comander Star scream and D-compose my favorite character who voiced
*what a guy!* 😢
I had no idea that Harry Shearer wasn't always the voice of Mr Burns
SIMPSONS SEASON ONE commentaries are full of all kinds of cool info.
There has never been Starscream or Cobra Commander after Chris Collins. Merely play acting.
I hope there is a G.I. Joe transformers crossover out there, where CC and star scream are the best of friends

thank you for this video.
The person I’ve heard it’s come closest to being able to sound like Chris latta is Dr smoov
Chris Latta
Frank Welker
Peter Cullen
Michael Bell
That’s the list
Saving Peter Cullen for latter.
Roll for it 👍🏾
Nice, but Chris Latta was only in season 1 of Simpsons, not season 2.
He voiced cobra commander, AND Gung Ho?
Most of the actors voiced multiple characters.
Megatron is that you???? Here's a hint!!!!!!!!!
Starscream, Cobra Commander, D'Compose, Tendril, Darkstorm, Cravex, Gen. Dire, Sgt. Knox, and Paul Forbes.
Thank you. I heard his voice and thought to myself " He was in the Visionaries!", i couldn't remember the characters name.
I am commander Starscream
Aurowhats and Deceptihoozits?
Say Chris Latta and the first character that comes to mind is Starscream! (Also he did Reflector and Wheeljack....)
Why did he change his last name?
Not sure. My guess it would have to with SAG (Screen Actirs Guild). Guidelines. They have weird rules about more than one person registering with the same name.

They definitely seemed to want to find some way to redeem the Baroness. I hate how she gets sidelined mostly for Zarana in the last season.

I knew that was Latta. I was wondering why it said Collins.
That was also his name.
