I grew up watching cartoons that John did voices for. Plus, The Hobbit and Return of the King animated movies. Transformers cartoons. He appeared in Herbie Rides Again as one of Alonzo Hawk's lawyers. RIP, John. 😔😔😔
I think it'd be cool for you to look at Susan Blu's career. This woman is a legend in her own right. Also, John Stephenson's last role wsa in a Scooby-Doo film as the voice of a police sherrif.
I’m definitely planning on Susan Blu when I do Arcee’s bio in season 3. Yes she has done a great deal of work as a voice director and voice coach herself.
Sometimes there’s so much to cover in those bios I need to pick and choose for time. Some of those first videos were done on my old Mac when I started. But my newer Mac run so much faster and smoother. It’s way easier to gather all the video clips I want. Now it a trick of how much I can use without getting demonetized.
In the early days of TV they had live commercials in addition to the ones inserted into a broadcast. What this meant is that when a show went to a commercial break there would be at least one or two live commercials and the pitchman would appear on camera and advertise a product. John would appear on camera and talk about the sponsor's product. I don't know who the voice-over is that's doing the introduction to "I Love Lucy" but it's not John Stephenson. Even in 1951 John Stephenson's voice sounded exactly as it did for much of his career. When online sites refer to him as a "commercial announcer" for 'I Love Lucy' it's a bit deceiving because what he should be described as is an "on-camera pitchman". I don't know if any film or video footage of him exists of his on-camera pitchman work on "I Love Lucy". John was a co-star of an early TV sitcom called "People's Choice" with Jackie Cooper. John's role was Roger Crutcher. It aired for 3 seasons, 1955-1958.
He did the English dub of Pontius Pilate and a few other characters in the Spanish made 1957 film on the life of Christ, IMDB doesn't mention this in his body of work. ruclips.net/video/Lh9OhG4J9Fs/видео.html

"Bendell Quest"?!? It's BENTON! Stephenson was the #3 voice talent behind Daws Butler and Don Messick (who replaced Stephenson as BENTON Quest).
A pox on anyone who doesn't remember John Stephenson as Mr.Slate and Dr. Benton Quest......You have to remember that legendary voice with character!!!
Which is almost everyone, ever.
He also voiced Thunderbird in Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends
John Winfield Stephenson (born c. 1923/1924 - May 15, 2015)
He also did the epilogue narration in the final two seasons of the 1960's version of Dragnet (with Jack Webb and Harry Morgan).

Would be great to see a video about Bud Davis. The actor who voiced Dirge, my favorite Decepticon Conehead seeker.
In time I’ll get to all of them.
Cool video man!
His voice in the I Love Lucy thing sounds exactly like Don Messick.
He does. He would’ve been way younger at point. So higher pitch.
Don Messick would've had to be 25, back then- nonetheless, he and John Stephenson worked well, together, especially during the 1970's!!!

Lovely series, appreciating the actors we are all very familiar with, thank you
Man could he growl whenever he voiced a creature or monster!
The neat thing is they are all distinctly different from each other. And the sound matches the image of the character perfectly.
Yes. He was really good in the Super Friends episode Attack of the Vampire.@@edwardweathers4636
He also voiced Bionic 1 in The Bionic 6 cartoon
That was Alan Oppenheimer
