    Well done! As an EMS dinosaur I was a bat belt wearer and we wore plain leg pants. Glad to see the things I carried are still popular today!!

    I carry my raptors but also carry a cheap pair so that if someone on the call needs to borrow a pair, they don't steal my good ones....learned the hard way

      That’s a good idea! Never let them use the raptors lol

    Here's a tape tip from a former power lineman. Fold the end of your tape over on itself just a tiny bit. It gives you an instant pull tab. When wearing huge rubber gloves and sleeves with leather covers you can't really search for the end of your tape lol.
    Get in the habit of folding the end over everytime you use tape and you'll never go searching again.

      Former combat engineer here, 10000000% agree with adding a "buddy tab" on your tape. Helps your buddy, Helps yourself.

    Works for “at base or post to rig” situations as it’s been for me the past 28 years, but terrible if you respond from home to the base as I do. You don’t want all that in your pockets at home trust me on that. I invested in a response carrier and all my items fit in it when I need it on calls. Light as a feather when at home.

    Tipe, make sure to lock tight your leatherman raptor shear holster screw. Mine came off of my plate carrier. Luckily, my shears were attatched to a lanyard, and the shears were still in the holster when the screw came out.

    fellow Montanan EMT here. i keep a couple packs of those hothands warmers in my pockets and backpack during the winter months because cold hands suck! i have been thinking about a rechargeable battery hand warmer after seeing a couple being used by some coworkers.

    Hi Presley, this is Alan, I’m a retired police officer from Southern California, I saw your channel and thought I would check it out.
    You’ve got the whole package, you’re beautiful, well spoken and have a passion to help others, what a great calling!!
    I’m interested in what most people are carrying and not just guys, lol…
    Keep up your hard work, I know it’s a pain to edit and prepare these videos, it’s greatly appreciated and well done. Thanks again, greetings from Riverside in Southern California.

    You really dont think that moving the bell/diaphragm is an off switch, right? Also, you pointed to the diaphragm but said bell.

    Could you do a video on pay and OT? For a firefighter medic?

    • @PresleykpFit
      @PresleykpFit  2 года назад

      I only know what pay is in my state, Montana is unfortunately one of the lowest paying states and has higher volunteers/paid-per-call services and not as many career opportunities so it’ll be off for sure versus other states

    Not a hate coment,
    I know I'm probably wrong but for some reason i don't fully believe your a paramedic, its just their is some imbalance in the practicality of what you prioritise to carry like raptors are great but i find it rear for a medic to not carry standard shears as well, because if i rolled up to a trauma scene the last thing i want is to get some guys blood on my $150 raptor shears so have standard shears, probably just forgot but you overlooked the oxygen wrench one the raptor wich is far more frequently used than the seat belt cutter. And I'm surprised at how much stuff you have on you like a power bank on your ankle? On a shift you never know if your going to have vomit, pee, poo or blood on your uniform especially on your pants keep it in your bag and get a cheapish torch and clip it to your shirt or something.
    But any way you do you, no hate just confused.

    • @PresleykpFit
      @PresleykpFit  Год назад +2

      1. Feel free to search me by name to look up my paramedic license
      2. I prefer raptors which is why I invested in them
      3. You’ve clearly never worked in rural EMS in the middle of nowhere when a power bank has saved me MANY times. We have to carry duty phones, iPads, etc and I’ve been stuck in snow or out hiking to a patient for hours with search and rescue and items die. It’s a rugged power bank with a flash light that’s easy to take a sani wipe to (it stays as my work power bank).
      4. I’ve had every body fluid known to man get on my uniform which is why I always keep spares at the station
      🫶🏻 much love

    The ‘switch’ is to flip it around and use the small bell for pediatrics

    • @danielc9774
      @danielc9774 Год назад

      No, the bell is not for pediatrics. It's to hear different types of sounds like bruits and bowel sounds. The diaphragm is for lung auscultation and normal S1/S2 heart sounds.

    Why would a stethoscope need an on off switch can't you just take it out of your ears

    • @Loopy6155
      @Loopy6155 2 года назад

      its not an on off. You use it to switch between which side of the bell your using.
      Not entirely sure why she said on/off switch, although when I first got mine I had no clue what it was as all I'd ever really been taught at first was were to place it on a patient and what to listen for XD
