I'm glad you saw how huge James Galway gets! I have one, and it is enormous. I remember when you planted yours thinking that you would really be surprised!!
That walk had to smell like heaven!! Lady of Shalott is one of my favorites, and only one I've tried growing. It was damaged from herbicidal spray from some farm who knows where. I will try again!! I assume Japanese Beetles are not a problem up there. How nice. Do all those petals need to be cleaned up to prevent fungus?
The smell was amazing! They don't have japanese beetles, which is nice. I don't know if the petals are an issue, but workers regularly come through and weed the beds and do other cleanup to keep them free from grass and other things.
LOVE.. thank you! One thing you might want to address if you think appropriate, is that the roses from Heirloom are own root and often seem smaller when they arrive vs. how a bare root grows up in the first months after planting. However the Heirloom rose quickly seems to catch up and is super hearty! Love my heirloom roses!!
Hi Mathew, I have a small Callico or damask rose, which I haven't been able to find name for. It only flowers once and is easy to propagate cuttings as it has its own root stock. I do find "Buffs beauty" to be an excellent prolific, hardy champagne coloured roses, that flower in nz almost all year round.( which is one of Fraser Valley farm favorite roses, too). "Nadema" is one rose I am seeking as it has a large peonie-like bowl roses with the most magnificent scent. Must be pure delight to visit such a magic nursery full of so many varieties. I hope you made a list of ones you might add to your collection.😊 Joanna.
Poseiden is gorgeous, looks maybe similar on color to Blue Girl. I saw you mention Hot Cocoa being on your list now. I added her last year and love her so much! She smells like cinnamon to me and has the most gorgeous blooms in all stages that remind me of Mexican hot chocolate.
This year is my first for growing roses. I ordered two plants, the shipping was quick and the plants were healthy and bigger then I thought they would be. I put them in containers and both are thriving.. I can't wait for that first bloom to pop.
I love love love Apricot Candy! It is one rose that I will always recommend this one to anyone who loves that apricot color. The color on it is stunning from start to finish.
We ordered from them this spring following your recommendation and are waiting for the first blooms. There’s another rose grower in British Columbia, Fraser Valley Rose Farms, who has a great selection and Jason does excellent informational videos about growing roses.
How was the smell? I bet it was heavenly. Thank you for sharing this. I have many types of plants, but not one single rose. I'm fearful because I killed two one year and never tried again. Thank you again so much.
Wow, what an amazing experience for you! Too bad for me that my zone is too cold but loved the video anyway. It was fantastic to see the drone footage! Did you go nose blind from all the lovely fragrances!? 🇨🇦🙂🇨🇦
This was great, Mathew! I’ve also been thinking about Poseidon. I still miss the Sterling Silver rose I had years ago. See any other fabulous lavender ones?
Roses, like most ornamental shrubs, are grown from cuttings, not seed. Unless you’re selectively breeding for a new variety, cross pollination isn’t a concern.
Those listed on their website under the filter "Best Seller", but the following are the Top 20 in order: 1. Eden Climber 2. Parfuma Earth Angel 3. Koko Loko 4. Mister Lincoln 5. Peace 6. Pretty In Pink Eden Climber 7. Golden Celebration 8. Polka 9. Joseph’s Coat 10. Ebb Tide 11. Queen of Sweden 12. Sunbelt Plum Perfect 13. Litchfield Angel 14. New Dawn 15. Lady of Shallot 16. Zephirine Drouhin 17. Kiss Me Kate 18. Twilight Zone 19. Tess of the d’Urvervilles 20. Double Delight
I'm curious as to why you left your roses at the old property. Most people that I know either don't want roses or just don't know how to care for them properly. I have given away many roses and at this point I can hardly look at my hand me downs anymore as they get so abused. People that love roses and grow them well, sometimes assume that they're easy but for most people they're really not. We are started to plan a move, and I know I will be taking all my roses with me. Anyway, that's my two cents. Thank you so much for this video, many of my roses came from Heirloom.
Because I moved during the hottest weekend of the year and had to list my home within a week. You shouldn’t be taking things out of your garden after an offer is made on the home.

What an awesome video. The beauty of the roses and surrounding views, your enthusiasm, and how you relate with others. Just a joy to watch this video!
Looks like a fun trip Matthew, heirloom roses is close to where I live in Oregon.
Very interesting. I am not a big rose person, but you are changing my mind. 💕💕🎶🎶
I changed my mind one time too. For a couple years, I promised myself to never plant anymore roses. 😂
What a treat, thank you for sharing!
How awesome!! Gorgeous❤️❤️❤️
Wow...just stunning...thx for video
Gorgeous roses~

Nice
Amazing! thanks for the video. I also love Poseidon but had to get rid of a few of them due to rose rosette disease.
I wish I could hit the like button three or four times at least❤❤❤
I have fallen in Love with (Elizabeth), and will be acquiring her soon.
This was great, Mathew! I’ve also been thinking about Poseidon. I still miss the Sterling Silver rose I had years ago. See any other fabulous lavender ones?
I had my eyes on all the pinks and corals!
Beautiful! I used the code and aparently you can only use it once! I wanted to buy more but they are expensive, so I have to see! Blessings!
Hi! I’m having them look into this tomorrow because you should be able to use it as often as you wish. I’ll follow up.
TY...
What ones are you adding to your list?
I really want Hot Cocoa, Eden Climber, Poseidon, Queen of Sweden, and several of the others I mentioned in this video. They're all so pretty.
Thats so beautiful, but what keeps them from cross polinating?
Roses, like most ornamental shrubs, are grown from cuttings, not seed. Unless you’re selectively breeding for a new variety, cross pollination isn’t a concern.
What on earth must they do with all those blooms, especially when cleaning a plant for shipping? The florists in the area must rejoice >)
would watch and prob buy a lot more if someone showed me it's habit and flushes
What ones are their type 20 ?
Those listed on their website under the filter "Best Seller", but the following are the Top 20 in order:
1. Eden Climber
2. Parfuma Earth Angel
3. Koko Loko
4. Mister Lincoln
5. Peace
6. Pretty In Pink Eden Climber
7. Golden Celebration
8. Polka
9. Joseph’s Coat
10. Ebb Tide
11. Queen of Sweden
12. Sunbelt Plum Perfect
13. Litchfield Angel
14. New Dawn
15. Lady of Shallot
16. Zephirine Drouhin
17. Kiss Me Kate
18. Twilight Zone
19. Tess of the d’Urvervilles

The link to heirloom roses above did not work for me.
Thank you. For some reason the link was picking up the star emoji next to it. It's fixed now, but the link in my video descriptions work fine.
