The Genesis was pretty cool and the duck tail definitely looks good on it. Never seen it before but I like it.
Slow, loud, ugly widebody, and rubs on everything. Seems like shit to drive and is not much better to look at. I don't get the appeal but hey if it makes the owner happy that's all that really matters.
They're pretty cool cars.. my only gripe is that 90% of them try to race me every time they see me.

Just sold my 08 Mustang GT. Got tempted to buy this, but I ended up getting a deal on a Cadillac CTS V. Just can't do foreign cars, but this was tempting as hell. The ride in the Genesis is nice. It's a driver's car.

I'm always confused how people actually enjoy driving around in a car that wanders all over the road, feels like a truck when you hit pot holes, and scrapes on pretty much anything. Doesn't seem safe to me.

All show and no go...notice that stock ass engine bay. And you call it an entry level sports car. I'm sure it would be with proper suspension upgrades but this is just ruined. On a side note great vid David. I bet you loved the canyon runs to do reviews. Looking forward to the rest of the California trip series.

I love widebody cars and I love Genesises, this is awesome! That shift knob is freaking awesome too. Just wish that had the 3.8, but my parents have a 2011 Sonata 2.0T which I believe uses the same motor and it's great. 274 HP from a relatively inexpensive 2 liter turbo four-pot.

Hey as long as the old/slow fucks stay to the right I wouldn't mind staying at a continuous 50...ish speed. Might get 'there' a minute later than anticipated but there would be a constant flow and not having to brake so much because gramps in his Oldsmobile is in the passing lane going 40 at best, not knowing where he's going, where he's at or who he is...
Where I'm at the average speed limit is 35mph. Police and 9-5 Commuters go 60 in residential areas.

the 370z is very outdated now. its been pretty much the same for 10 years now. and this is cheaper than it actually, and had 2 more seats
I current own a G37s and have driven the 3.8 Genesis coupe and the G37 is such a better car. The build quality is miles better and its got that Nissan reliability.
Hesayad outdated?! Disagree completely. Still looks more modern than the Genesis, both interior and exterior. Functionally, the 370z even has more modern tech than the genesis. Especially with the rev-match considered.
I have both a 370Z and a Genesis. They are both alot of fun but then gen is more practical considering it has more trunk space and back seats

Carl Manney the electronic wastegate on the newer Bk2 makes it harder to upgrade the turbo (which Tyler, the owner, ended up doing)

the Genesis Coupe is only good if it has the 3.8L V6 the 2.0 turbo is underpowered
That 2.0 can be boosted pretty far before it breaks, it's a great street car for the money.
Pavlo95 13+ 2.0s have 275hp. bolt on and a lot of people make 270whp and 300+ wheel torque. these are better platforms than the 3.8 to work off
With a simple stage 1 tune on the 2013+ 2.0 you get around 270 to the wheels so it really is good value for moey
this 2.0 has 210hp

I think that the genesis could be a real drivers car if done right
If done right any sports oriented car could be a real drivers car. But lots of people seem to be part of the stance movement where function over performance takes over. Unfortunately it seems like the Genesis crowd seems to lean more towards stance, I drive a BK1 3.8 Manual transmission, It's a great car, fast too aside from the manual transmission being the clunkiest thing ever especially with the DMF. The 2.0 Can be modded greatly to achieve really good numbers with not so much wallet being thrown around. You can do the same with the 3.8 but you'll be cashing out more since it's an NA engine. But I love the way the v6 sounds. So far I have bolt-ons currently with a tune too. For me, internal wise I'm almost out of ideas aside from small things like a throttle body spacer which really I don't see the need. Engine and tranny mounts will be good to have. But now I'm working on the exterior part of things. I definitely won't be going stance but I will drop my car 1 1/2 Inches and get new tires and make it at lest flush
Ramune I almost bought a silver 2.0 turbo I just went a different route and I'm personally not into the stance scenes but I do respect other people choices and what route they wanna take with there car
What'd you end up going with? I have a Tsukuba red. Plan on wrapping eventually it due to it being a used car there's some chips etc... I respect the choice but once you start getting into the cars function and it's inputs it becomes a nuance. Camber isn't even bad but once you start hitting that -10 camber and you're slammed to the ground with DIY rolled fenders done with a pipe and incline and a big wing. And absolutely no engine modifications aside from maybe exhaust and intake it's kind of ugly. There is a line for me though, I feel like there is proper stance that is pretty tasteful and the rice boy stance. This car is right in the middle. I appreciate that he does this all on his own though. And of course when going for this type of look there is a phase the car goes thru where it looks hideous so maybe this car ends up looking sick. I just wish it would perform as well. But I understand the whole sides of performance and style. For me I like to have both. You won't win any car shows with speed. You'll place in style. That's probably his way of it.

Wesley Green body wise and reliable wise the gen coupe better. not talking about this guy's car tho. The 370 to me looks bland plus there's no back seats. if you don't care for back seats then sure take the 370. the 3.8 and the 370 are pretty neck to neck but most people go for brand. hence the Hyundai hate. but at least Genesis has its own name now

Used maybe but a new Genesis with Navi was like 34k msrp otd, with that being said I think the Z's price point for the performance you get is a tad high (Nismo with the tech package) msrp came out to like 43k-ish. Hyundai does have that 10 year 100k mile warranty though lol.
Tuner Dashcam I agree but I picked up a 2013 370z nismo with only 5k miles on it, one owner, and California owned for 35k out the door. That being said, it's not easy finding a 370z Nismo with so little miles so most people go with the genesis coupe, much cheaper and reliability is about the same, although the nismo has about 10k dollars worth of components that a regular 370 and Genesis doesn't have.

You can get attention through performance. look at the Road Kill vs MCM episode of Road Kill. The 69 Impala is clapped out and bone stock except for the 600hp-700hp supercharge engine and no hood. Any car with a blower sticking out of the hood or lack of hood will get attention. One wheel burn outs also get attention also.

You shoul get the 2013+ 2.0t rspec. I have a 2014. 275hp/274 lb-ft torque. Its got a nice chunk of power more. And i takes ALOT more than the stock 15psi peak boost as well. Saw a guy on a forum who CLAIMED hes getting 305 to the wheels with a tune after cranking the boost to 26psi and some other adjustments.
