HINT from this old grandma: take the cream cheese out of the foil and let it soften in your big bowl when the cc is COLD and firm - just out of the frig - it won’t stick so bad to the wrapper. This works well when you need softened butter for a recipe, also. 😊 I LOVE both of these recipes and I love your no-nonsense style! Thanks!
I've been saving bacon grease for 60 years. Plus I save my cooking oil. Here's my tip; I use cone coffee filters in a used, clean and dry 24 oz cottage cheese container. It's the perfect size and shape to hold the filter without tipping over. My grandma taught me that along with many other valuable lessons for life. Peace be with you all. 🕊️🙏🏿🙏🙏🏽🕊️
@aantunez5391 omg, you're so funny 😁. Her bacon grease isn't 60 years old 🙄 🤣 I'm sure what she meant was that she's been doing the process for 60 years now. We southerners use it as fast as we gather it. Putting it in cornbread, beans, greens and peas, etc. I've been using the same process for close to 40+ years. Every time I cook bacon I pour it up and put it in the fridge. It's usually all used up by the end of a month or so for seasoning 😅 you don't actually get a whole lot from a pound of bacon. Maybe a quarter of a cup if you're lucky. And NO, southerners don't fry bacon every single day either. 😂😊
Love your recipes, everytime whatever I make of yours… comes out perfect!!! I’m a 63 year old woman, who learns something new everytime I watch your posts!!! Thanks so much!!
I added minced onion and granulated garlic to the baked jalapeno bites. They were YUMMY. Guests were topping them with my home canned salsa. We've got a winner. Thanks for the idea. 👍
Welp, I guess I need to call my sister so she can be fussing again. This recipe is in her Keto universe. She's gonna say again "I ain't gonna be messing around with AB!" then run to the store to get the ingredients 🤣😂 Love it man! Keep up the good work!!
@@michellec169 almond flour will work but won't absorb as much oil so will have a little oil slick in it. Or use unflavored protein powder as the protein powder will absorb the oil from the cheese similar to bread crumbs.
I love this too. Such a simple lil’ cup to fill with all sorts of delicious joy. 🤔 thinking I might try some cornmeal substitute for the breadcrumbs. Stuff w/ chili or maybe some….. Thanks for sharing and kicking some creativity into my mind and palette 😋
My grandparents always saved bacon grease and taught me how useful it is in all sorts of recipes. This one looks fantastic AB, thank you! I will have to try this soon, though I think I might oil up my small muffin tins with the leftover bacon grease for the jalapeno bites, it could give the cheese panko shells even more magic.
@@americafirst6750 Personally, I would reheat them in the same muffin tray you baked them in with an oven at a low temperature. It might take thirty minutes, but I think a microwave would destroy this recipe.
I'm so glad you gave that pro tip about wiping off the excess. I do that to every vessel I cook in. All my glass pans and metal pans look great. Thanks again for another great recipe!
I am sooo making these & thank you! JPoppers are my favorite appetizer! And nobody should have a fridge that doesn't at least have one jar of bacon drippings (greez lol) in it! I've kept a stash for almost 40 years & my mom still keeps hers! We use it in many things. Sometimes just a touch for flavor in things if you don't have bacon on hand will.do.the trick. And ya'll haven't lived until you use it for your pancakes. Best crispy edges ever!!😋🥓🥞🥓🤤🤗 Thank you again!❤️
I was happy to see this video again. I watched it just before March madness and wished I'd seen it for the 2023 holidays. Perfect timing for these holidays.
Absolutely love your show, you've always have most of your ingredients chopped you don't bore your listeners to death, always have great recipes . Love your southern accent
I made these this weekend and they were delicious. One think I can say though is that a good non-stick muffin tin is a must. I have an aged muffin tin and even though I sprayed it, I was still struggling to remove the bites. Conversely, I did a second batch in a fresh non-stick tin and they popped out no problem.
I haven't seen a huge amount of chefs on RUclips but you're by far my favorite. I was listening to you kinda critique yourself and the video during this and just wanted to assure you are doing great, man keep up the awesome work!
I do catering for private events and I just made 80 of these for a cocktail party. There were several other finger foods as well, but this was the one that got the most compliments and there were no leftovers. I'll be making these again and again but I won't call them jalapeño popper bites. Instead, they're "Little Morsels from Heaven". Thank you SOOO much for the recipe!
Those jalapeño cups look fire!!! Cheddar peppers are so good, but a mess to eat. Here’s the solution! I’m getting ready for football season! Thanks for the recipe! Even a little shredded chicken would be good in these!
THANK YOU AB! These I will devour as a main course. I am on a mission to try to make everything you've posted. Seriously folks! Every dish from AB I've tried is the best I've ever tasted.
Yer making me hungry. My brother loves jalapenos so much. I am going to make these for him. Thanks so much for sharing the recipes. They look wonderful.
I made these bites today and substituted the panko bread crumbs with ground pork rinds, to make this a low-carb appetizer. They tasted a little like the pork rind but were great! I'm going to try them again with low-carb bread crumbs, made from low-carb bread. Thanks for the recipe!
I made this for the first time for our family Thanksgiving. They all requested that I make this for Christmas dinner as well! It’s currently on my stove finishing up! Thanks for yet another amazing recipe!
Thanks AB for the cool content. My mom and I would sit and watch and before we knew it, an hour passed by. My aunts visited and got hooked too. I've tried a few and just wanna say thanks. Cooking is more than eating a meal, it creates experiences and contributes to traditions. All the best to you.😊
