Thank you so much for this video! I'm very intrigued by the art and the theme but I'm not convinced enough about the gameplay to pull the trigger on getting a copy! Looks beautiful, though... and that board with all of those action spaces! Gorgeous!
We'll have our first impressions of the game up soon, and we also played it on our live stream a couple weeks ago, which can be found at this link: ruclips.net/video/VcAbSwBXVMY/видео.html
We're told that it should be appearing very soon, but I haven't seen it yet for pre-order at any of the online retailers. With any luck it will be prior to the end of the year.
The first action only playing a card is not actually true. You can unlock a dice and put it on the board immediatly if you sacrificing a pilgrim. And you start with 3 pilgrims
Wow! I've totally missed that rule, but now that I see the iconography on the player board, it makes perfect sense. I've loving this game, but there is a lot of little rules and iconography to take in for sure. Thanks for the comment!
@@HALOX30 No problem. It seems like you're a content creator, so it seems like advice worth giving and advice that should be thankfully received. A lot of content creators refer to a single die as a "dice". So hopefully this interaction will save that from happening in your next video.
It would have been better to do a macro of the game and then the regions to then drill down to each area of the board and player board. I didn’t really get the theme and context of the game.
The thing about this game is that there is very little in terms of connecting theme to what it is you're trying to do. It's got so many different things going on, that it may be best described as a "get points all over the place" game with the objective of getting points.😉 Thanks for the feedback though. When we do such videos in the future, we'll try to include a brief 30,000 feet summary first.
@@meeple example: In this game players (you) take on the roles of Bitoku spirits of the forest in a journey towards transcendence, with the main goal or objective of elevating yourself to be the next great spirit of the forest. In competition with other players, as Bitoku, you will have the help of the yōkai (show game token) , the kodamas and the different pilgrims that accompany them on their journey towards success. I had to look this up.
A good intro story of the game is all you need. Then drill down to areas of that journey (board areas), and how to make that journey (actions in the game).
@@stevegeorge7773 The name is great in its original Japanese (it means virtue). But, phonetically, in French, it means something very... raunchy. NSFW,

@@meeple Oh, fantastic! I hadn’t seen the livestream! That’s usually the best way for me to see if a game is for me or not! Thanks!
Picked this up at Essen. Love the game.
I've played it a few more times now, and I'm really enjoying it too!
I see golem on the shelf behind you.. where can I buy that ??
Any idea when this can be ordered and from where?

A die, not a dice

This is good advice and I agree. Give a high level overview of the game first.

I hope the name of the game will be changed if translated in French.
Nope. Iello decided to keep the name ;)
Why?
@@stevegeorge7773 Good question. No idea why.
@@andregulluni1043 Personally I like the name.
