To me it smells a bit like cow tails candy. It’s sort of sticky sweet and dry sweet at the same time and somehow also creamy. I have the same reaction, I don’t love it but there’s something about it that makes me keep wanting to smell it.

If Hypnotic Poison were a Christmas song it would be Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire
It always reminded me of play-doh. Maybe that's the smell you can't place.
The eau de toilette has the play doh note in it. Not the eau de parfum. The eau de parfum, in its first formulation at least, has a distinct cherry 🍒 cough syrup mixed with blood accord… its a true vampire perfume and insanely intense and obnoxious haha.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611ahhhhh! The regular poison has that cherry cough syrup smell to me! And there’s something by Tom ford that smells like that to me. I told my friend and she totally didn’t smell that. 😂funny how different things smell to each of us.

Dagon, any thought on that roller ball they came out with? I thought it was an rdy but apparently it’s an oil😳.
I have only seen the roller of the edt and not the edp. The edt roller was ok but a bit sticky on the skin…
IDK if it’s what your nose is picking up on, but the liquorice and tonka bean in Hypnotic Poison EDP reminds me of the star anise and tonka bean in Armani Code pour homme. 🤔
The current formula of HP edp is different to the og first release I review in my video.

I had this perfume years ago and the bottle looks very different. I’m sure it smells different too. The old bottle wasn’t dark like this and you couldn’t really see through it. It smelt wonderful
Thats cuz the edp did not exist up until a few years ago. Hypnotic Poison was on,y available as an edt in the 90’s and there was a limited edition parfum too for a season or so but the edp came decades later. 💖🥀

My grandma had one too and I can confIrm both edp amd edt smells different now😭
also yes I've released they changed bottles a lil
But not in a bad way
They still both smell WONDERFUL
