That tool in F13TNB was called a Bushmaster. I'm not sure they make them anymore.
I started watching this review and, once I saw the pedigree of the cast, I paused your vid and watched it on Prime. It was a REALLY great slasher that I'd never seen!
I think Bo Hopkins says that the wife killed the abusive father but it definitely could have been clearer. Did Don Shanks really take the knives or were they planted to make him look guilty? And another thing that irked me was that Don Shanks didn't apologize to the deputy for delivering that beating on him! Dude was just trying to bring him food!
It's free on Amazon Prime, too!
At any rate, I really enjoyed the movie and the review! Well done, Drumdums! Well done!

This was a great slasher. I remember when Dana Kimmel appeared on an episode of Different Strokes and Bo Hopkins played as another sheriff character on the movie Mutant that was also a great horror movie from the 80's. Definitely worth checking out.

    Awesome Review
    Mr. Lee
I liked this movie quite a bit I am due for a rewatch
    If I remember correctly
In the Friday the 13th part 3 actor commentary
Dana Kimmel says that someone saw her performance in this movie and liked her so much that they asked her to do
    Friday part 3
    She also played
Chuck Norris daughter in the movie
    Lone Wolf McQuade

She’s also from the Chuck Norris classic, Lone Wolf McQuade. Dude! Is that a STRYPER album behind you? Is that ‘Soldiers Under Command’? Man, that’s one of my favorite albums. I have a newfound respect for you. I bought that album when it came out and have been a fan ever since. I just listened to it two days ago. They still put out albums of high-quality. Their last five albums have been exceptionally good. They have a new one coming out called ‘End of Days’. They are one of the few 80s bands I still listen to along with Van Hagar ‘5150’. Great metal never dies. It just resurfaces in the background of RUclipsrs with class and good taste.

Dana Kimmel.... just always ❤️'d that chick.... excuse me; attractive actress. From Lone Wolf McQuade, Friday- Part 3,guest appearances in the A- team, Facts of Life, etc. The 80's(sweet, articulate, no tatoos, no political agenda attitude) females. They show up, know their lines, give an adequate performance). Remember this movie & liked the addition of Native American prejudice aspect; GOOD.... maybe not as good as say: The Initiation with Daphne Zuniga- one of my favorite mid eighties slashers.

That's the thing about movies back then compared to now a days. Back then, Social Commentary was settle. Was used more in the background, while the story was front and center. Now a days, the whole plot is the Social Commentary while the story is in the background. I really like it better the way they use to do myself. However, I guess there are a lot of people who don't like this movie. All I know is Horrorman and HorrificNightmares did a Positive Spin on this movie a few months ago. Seeing the clips, I remember it now, saw it on VHS dad had and did really enjoy it myself. It is also on T to the ubi if anyone wants to check it out. And enjoyed your video. Thank you, Lee.

I bought this film a thew years ago & I saw it some years before that.
I thought it was pritty clever, when I first watched it.
I was suspicious of the killer & her husband & daughter.
I thought that it was going to turn out that they weren't really a family & that they were going to end up being a group of criminals poseing as a family to evade the law as the authorities would only be looking for them separately, not a couple with a daughter.
I know that some people criticise these films for having to much nudity but in this film for me anyway, the nudity played into my opinions on what might be going on.
Even though the daughter was supposed to be younger, I knew that they wouldn't use an actress unless she was 18 or older so when I saw her in the nude scenes then my mind told me that she is really older than what the town thinks & therefore her & her family are lying. That & the fact that they were new to town sold me on the idea & even though that's not how the film turned out I still appreciate that the film was able to trick me as I usely see right through these films & figure out What's going on before the end. So I still like this one & it had a cool poster as well.
It reminds me of all those young adult novels from the 80s & 90s.

I've seen you posting this review couple weeks ago, and decided to give it a try.
Man, I enjoyed it a lot.
    A nice little classic whodunit.
I think it all came down to really likeable characters (Bo Hopkins, I love this guy due American Graffiti and it's sequel), and great chemistry between them.
I also liked little touches of comedy here and there, as well as the whole racial tension/commentary (ELEVATED HORROR!).
The premise was also very intruiging, for a while I thought it will go in the direction in which All The Boys Love Mandy Lane went years and years later :)
I only wish there were one or two more dates'n'kills before the finale, to make it even more slashery.
Also the big reveal lacked some flare/imagination from the director, it was not bad, but it could use more well crafted drama or action to make it bit more impacful.
On the other hand, as you said yourself, it has a certain vibe to it that's unique to that period of time :)
Anyway, this one was a nice surprise :)
    Cheers Lee!
