Hello Melanie, I am a new subscriber and I just wanted to say how much I love what you are doing here on RUclips. So many wonderful ideas and fabulous inspiration. I absolutely love your Marianne North series as it has inspired me to start a new journal with a flower botanical theme. It's going to be a dedication to an Australian lady from the 19th century by the name of Ellis Rowan, who was a botanical artist. She was also an intrepid type heading out into the bush to paint the flora and fauna in some very remote parts. I believe Mrs Rowan and Marianne North actually met each other during a time when they were both in Western Australia. Miss North also visited Mrs Rowan as her home here in Victoria, Australia. I think they had a lot in common, an unstoppable desire to paint the beauty of nature around them. You work is equally inspiring and your Podcasts are very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing. Regards, Bernice.😊
Fantastic feedback Bernice. Yes Ellis Rowan met Marianne North in 1880 and they traveled together through Australia, she heavily influenced Ellis to travel and paint rare plants in other parts of the world. Marianne introduced Ellis Rowans art work to Kew and there are some exhibits still held in Kew Gardens in London. It’s thought that Marianne gave her lessons in oil painting and Ellis went on to win awards. Here’s my video about it. All videos can be watched in sequence on the Marianne North Dephemerember playlist. ruclips.net/video/bjh1gtuQX7U/видео.html
Wax paper has been available here in Canada for ever and a day. I am over 75 and cannot ever remember a day when we could not buy it. In fact, wax paper was around long before plastic wrap!
I live in the United States and we have no trouble buying wax paper at the supermarket. And I still use it because I really don't like plastic wrap and I also use it to line tens that I'm putting my cookies in. It's also great Minecraft room to use underneath the very messy project. I like your idea and I'm going to give it a try
Me encanta!!! Que feliz me haría recibir un correo feliz así. Nunca recibí correo feliz 😝. Soy de Argentina 🇦🇷. Posiblemente por eso. Muchísimas gracias 😘😘😊
Lol , we call the place woollies or coles in Australia and we call it baking paper, i found an old stamp book that was no good anymore so i ripped the paper out of that for mine, love what you do, keep up the good work
Cutest little pockets Eva.. We can buy wax paper in Woolies in Australia.. You can iron it to join edges or cover nice pictures.. I got all warm n fuzzy when I saw the stamps..a lovely memory of collecting when I was a child..
Oh wow! You still have Woolies ❤️ they all closed down in the UK and went online! I’ve only just said good but to an old saucepan I bought in Woolies many moons ago. 🦋
I love the ideas you came up with on making faux glassine pockets. And how to get them to attach to decorate journal pages❤ Hole punching and using scraps to close the holes, sewing with decorative stitches and you put many other ideas to try. They all are so lovely!! And in the US we can buy waxed paper from a number of place …supermarkets, grocery stores, Dollar stores, Amazon and some department stores like Target and Walmart to name a few. Thank you for sharing❤
Grocery store or supermarket is what we call our stores that sell food. Supermarkets are usually bigger, but we can get wax paper from any dollar store in the U.S. but we did have a shortage during the start of Covid. Now it’s cat food that’s in short supply. 🤷♀️
It’s not easy to find in the UK only used for catering and crafts. We have grease proof or baking paper which is silicon coated. Waxed paper can’t go in the oven as the wax smokes so I think we dispensed with the idea possibly the same for OZ and NZ. Great resource if you can track some down. Try Woolies. Mine has 15 meters to play with 😻
Every grocery store in US sells wax paper. It’s often used in my kitchen for wrapping up leftovers!😀

I’m in the US. We have wax paper in almost every store where I’m at. We call it the grocery store. 😂 So original.
I’ve also had good luck using bearly art glue with wax paper.
😂 You know when you just can’t think of the words… thank you I remember now. We have supermarkets or convenience stores. Thanks for watching 🌺🦋

I've never seen such a see-through wax paper here in New Zealand. Ours is quite white.
Another thought would be to use a smaller hole punch make multiple holes then sew through the page and anchor it with floss🥰
Yes and maybe blanket stitch would be fun 🤩 Great suggestion Cynthia 🌺🦋
We have wax paper on the east coast of USA. Many different brands.
Your right, Supermarket, or Store. Walmart has it and all the other grocery store
No we cant get wax paper in New Zealand any more, I use Backing Paper, Love idea's tfs Melaine...Kia Kaha...
I'm wondering if I can't do something with it at Christmastime with some kind of little special gift inside
Absolutely and emphasise the flip over with a fun image of sentiments. We need to develop the idea a bit more. Bigger pockets would be fun too. 🌸🦋
Think we can get wax paper in Oz.
