    In terms of lyrics, I think this is my favorite King Gizzard song. I love the theme and it's beautifully written. Who hasn't ever experienced this "sleep drifting" ? Being in that in-between state when you're not quite asleep but not quite awake either, just before truly falling asleep or just before truly waking up and anything you can think of, your mind makes it happen (close to lucid dreaming). I just love it. And musically speaking it's perfect, too.

    • @mr.gilbert2790
      @mr.gilbert2790 6 лет назад +22

      tbh I hate that state. Especially when I'm in class, get fully woken and start looking around for Mum's dinner that I was dreaming of.

    Being from the lands of these tunes and xzperiencing them through the music of people who are coming from a different cultural background, it's just amazing. I've been waiting for a Turkish band to do this for a long time now and it comes from Australia and I couldn't be happier. Love you guys, best album in decades.
    In a similar case, you guys can check Selda Bağcan and her music with Boom Pam and Elijah Wood himself is in love with her, amazing stuff.

    I have no fucking clue what a microtone is, nor do I care to ever learn. All I know is that I enjoy this music and that it sounds good to me, and that's enough. Music to me is wholly an art, not a science. I respect those who love going into music theory and those who pick apart compositions to see how they work, but I know that's not for me.

    Lyrics
    Sleep drifter, sleep drifter
    I can feel you touch me
    And I can hear you breathing
    Please no one wake me
    When I'm sleep drifting
    Drifting in and out of sleep
    Reality begins to fray
    You'll become so close to me
    In a hotel far away
    Sleep drifter, sleep drifter
    I can know you're right here
    And I can catch your crying tear
    We can be so close, dear
    When I'm sleep drifting
    Drifting in and out of sleep
    Is my favourite state to be
    I can see you next to me
    And it is lovely
    Sleep drifter, sleep drifter

    • @asudeacar
      @asudeacar 7 лет назад +7

      Mücahit GÖREN amacın nedir? Nedir bu ezikliğin kompleksin? Neyedir, kimedir bu öfken? Bana cahil yaftasını yapıştırmayı gerektirecek birşey yazmış mıyım diye tekrar baktım fakat bulamıyorum. Olabilir evet Aşık Veysel de olabilir -ki Erkin Koray'ı da Barış Manço'yu Selda Bağcan'ı seven sıkı dinleyen yabancı bir kitle var. Bunu bu tür müzikle yakından ilgilenenler bilir, biliyoruz. Ben hangilerini daha çok dinlemişler daha çok etkilenmişler gibilerinde bir düşünce yazdım sadece. Senin bu çirkin ve rezil seviyesiz yakıştırmana aldanıp karaktersizleyemeyeceğim. Sen basit birisin belli. Ben de insan sanıp düşünce dile getirdim. Hata bende. Yaşın da küçük olabilir. Ergen psikolojisinde olabilirsin bilmişlik yaslayabilirsin. Olgun erişkin olsan böyle cahilce yersiz dangalak bir tepki vereceğini sanmıyorum. Ha eğer ki yaşın başın almış biriysen, o işte fena. Sana ancak acırım. Zavallı olduğun çıkar ortaya.

    • @mucahitgoren
      @mucahitgoren 7 лет назад

      asude acar bu soundun aşık veysele benzediğini anlamayıp üstüne okumayacağım destassı yorumunla hem ezik hem cahil olduğunu kanıtladın.

      Berkay Celik :))) okumuyorsundur eminim. Canınız sağolsun beyim, ben sizin gibi kaba ve kırıcı olamayacağım. Aşık Veysel'i layıkıyla dinleyiniz. Verdiğiniz tepkilere göre hiç dinlememişsiniz. Ufkunuz açık olsun sevgiler.

      System of a Down uses traditional microtonal instruments. But yea I don't think too many bands outside of obscure prog rock really touch this stuff in mainstream music.

    It's crazy how they've dropped 4 fucking full length albums this year with 1 more still to come and the 3 I have listened to have been major contenders in my all time favorite album of the year! They'd take the cake if I just lumped them all into one. Sketches from Brunswick East and Murder of the Universe are just as impressive and killer as this album! Anyone reading this should check them out if they already haven't. Definitely one of my favorite bands I've discovered this year
