In terms of lyrics, I think this is my favorite King Gizzard song. I love the theme and it's beautifully written. Who hasn't ever experienced this "sleep drifting" ? Being in that in-between state when you're not quite asleep but not quite awake either, just before truly falling asleep or just before truly waking up and anything you can think of, your mind makes it happen (close to lucid dreaming). I just love it. And musically speaking it's perfect, too.
I feel like King Gizz generally has wonderful instrumentation with lyrics that are just on par, nothing special. I guess its the give and take with a band like this.
I love that state. I always see the most creative things in that state. Too sad i dont remember even a single thing but only remember that it was fucking amazing. I have written custom songs in that state even that sounded amazing but didnt remember even one word of the lyrics later.

Yeah, I agree. Although I loved Nonagon Infinity, there has been more than just once or twice where I decided against listening to it because I wasn't in the mood for dealing with the hiss. It fits the style, but it's something I have to listen past. Heard the album over 30 times now, but it could have been 40 or 50 had it been clean and punchy like FMB is.

I have no fucking clue what a microtone is, nor do I care to ever learn. All I know is that I enjoy this music and that it sounds good to me, and that's enough. Music to me is wholly an art, not a science. I respect those who love going into music theory and those who pick apart compositions to see how they work, but I know that's not for me.

Check out their other albums 'KG' and 'LW'. They're basically sequels to the album this song is from (Flying Microtonal Banana). All three albums are microtonal and they're fantastic.
System of a Down uses traditional microtonal instruments. But yea I don't think too many bands outside of obscure prog rock really touch this stuff in mainstream music.
It's crazy how they've dropped 4 fucking full length albums this year with 1 more still to come and the 3 I have listened to have been major contenders in my all time favorite album of the year! They'd take the cake if I just lumped them all into one. Sketches from Brunswick East and Murder of the Universe are just as impressive and killer as this album! Anyone reading this should check them out if they already haven't. Definitely one of my favorite bands I've discovered this year

Music to me is wholly an art, not a science. I respect those who love going into music theory and those who pick apart compositions to see how they work, but I know that's not for me.
I love how this song, uses influences of Kraut-rock. I hear a lot of Neu, when i listen to this
first song from king gizzard that got me into them. thank you vinny vinesauce having this in your playlist
These tracks keep getting better. Seriously, I need this album right now.
the solo 4:03 is absolutely killer. one of my favorite tracks this band has ever put out.
microtones got me acting crazy i fucked around and bought a bağlama
I am back in the 60ies and I Love it so much ❤
that solo always gets me, man. it's so karacaoğlan, so neşet ertaş. great song
This is bangin'.
I always wear in ears while listening to psych or stoner rock when taking a nap so this song with its lyrics is just awesome
by the last seconds you can tell the next track is gonna be bomb
One of King Gizzard’s best tracks
this album cover is wild. cant wait to hear it!
Lyrics
Sleep drifter, sleep drifter
I can feel you touch me
And I can hear you breathing
Please no one wake me
When I'm sleep drifting
Drifting in and out of sleep
Reality begins to fray
You'll become so close to me
In a hotel far away
Sleep drifter, sleep drifter
I can know you're right here
And I can catch your crying tear
We can be so close, dear
When I'm sleep drifting
Drifting in and out of sleep
Is my favourite state to be
I can see you next to me
And it is lovely
Sleep drifter, sleep drifter
Thank you guys for this awesome song. You've just reminded us what we lost in this land.
Thats also sounding very Anatolian. Solid sound, pre-ordered and cant wait to see them live!
A beautiful cover of the song "Kara Toprak" from Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu.
The music formed the 21st century all over the world will have its roots from music of the Anatolian geography.
21. yüzyılda bütün dünyada oluşacak yeni müzik türleri, köklerini Anadolu coğrafyasından alac
aktır.
These guys are the best at their trade....real music,,,real experimentation.....you guys have won me over so so so much..cant wait to see you live!!!!!!!!
I had a feeling these dudes brought out another song, so I came to check. I love my instinct.
Prince New album every year
These guys will never let me down
My first comment on YT, these guys are awesome. They are definetly listening some turkish psychedelic songs from 60s.
''HELAL OLSUN BE'' from Turkey !
Berkay Celik :))) okumuyorsundur eminim. Aşık Veysel'i layıkıyla dinleyiniz. Verdiğiniz tepkilere göre hiç dinlememişsiniz. Ufkunuz açık olsun sevgiler.
My absolute favourite by these guys………..Dripping Tap is a close 2nd.
so amazing, can't wait to hear the full album
Hear a lot of kraut influence on this, I love it!
Turkish my man
both
Insanity5163 hallogallo
kraut? r u fkn kidding? Its pure turkish
Totally. It's like Can with Turkish vibes.
I don't think I've ever heard any band playing microtonal guitars before. They sound awesome. I want to hear more of this band.
This song style selda bağcan and erkin koray mixture.🎸🎵♥️🇹🇷#turkish anatolian rock 🤘
cant wait to rock out in Vancouver in April.King Gizz for life !!!
Definitely one of my favorite bands I've discovered this year
Omg. 2019 find out 13 álbuns a lot of good songs and I don't even know where start
Gerçek sanat ölümsüzdür. Sivas, Şarkışla, Sivrialan'da da doğsan dünyada adın sonsuza yankılanır. Ruhun şad ola Veysel baba. \m/
Insanely good
This song on ket makes All the layers of the songs just kinda peel one by one but at the same time ur listening to everything at the same time. Ngl best k hole
Heard them first time today on Radio. I like this band I wonder if one or more members have middle eastern or India Music background The Guitar definitely sounds like it.
Dude... The riff😍😍
This awesome song is what got me into this fantastic band.
Masterpiece!! Incredible sound
You guys have ascending unusually good garage band. I ordain thee rock legends. (in my own mind at least.)
I got you King Gizz, sneaking in the little next bit of the next song
Yess
Definitivamente una de mis bandas favoritas 🖤

These singles just keep getting better and better
