What did you guys think of the shorter format? It makes it easier for me to put out more videos if they aren't as long. I want to reduce the amount of fast forwarding people do as well. Let me know your thoughts below. Have good evening Fam!
It's sad but these videos really are the highlight of my week - look forward to them always! I'll have to try my hand at a custom or restore at some point I think...
Oddly enough, there are three content providers I really look forward to ... DR is one of them. I even find myself talking about Jimmy ... my wife just looks at me like I'm crazy.
I always look forward to all these kinds of channels I would say my favourites are this channel, Marty, SidewaysKing and BaremetalHW. There are quite a few others I watch too.
4:14 most important moment in diecast history. Short or long format, please dont skip the steps. It’s the process and the results that I like. Another great video.
I hit the like just for the tune in Tokyo joke. The cars came out really nice, simple paint by your standards but they don't need more than that. The joke about the bedazzled cops and looking for Jimmy was hysterical.
Sweet pair of rides, B.E.A. utiful paint jobs. I have always loved that model year of Cutlass. I had a 78 but wanted my friends earlier model, his was completely original and in great shape.
I really like these police cars brother! I was 9 yrs. When Hot Wheels busted out, and here we are seeing you bring out the life of these toys! Thank you bro... This is so BOSS!
These are awesome! They look fantastic. Since you had two of them, I would have maybe liked to see one of them painted with a black trunk and hood just to see what it would look like.
Two perfect examples of the last version of the 442 police cruiser. Excellent decal repros! BTW they never had black trunks or hoods. They were painted black enamel paint by a previous owner. Original version had a red gumball light and the sides were a sticker that had a badge and the word police on it. These cars looks way better now! Can't wait until you get a scale donut shop to park in front of. This IS a great format. Didn't like watching the paint drying part of your older vids,ha,ha.
The car with the metal base was one of the first Olds 442 police cruisers that came out after the original 1971 Spectraflame Olds 442. These are redlines and never had black trunks or hoods, that is someone's artwork, lol. They were all white enamel. What also gives this away as the first generation Olds 442 cruiser is the separate red cherry on top and the opening hood. Notice the glass also has a greenish tint. Many of these have been converted to clones of the Spectraflame original release. There were a couple different metal bases on the first generation olds police cruisers, and the early ones had stickers on the doors before they transitioned to tampos. Later releases had plastic bases and blackwalls, just like the ones driven by officer Grady! 😆
I might be totally wrong, but I had a look at the online redline guide, and it shows it under 1969 as a Police Cruiser. It was apparently used again in 1970 as the Fire Chief's car. It seems to have had a few paint scheme variations, some of which look like they might be quite rare.
@@adambeckett8394 The 1969 police cruiser was based on the Plymouth Fury, not the Olds 442. The version I'm referring to was the Olds 442 police cruiser, which came out after the original Spectraflame Olds 442 casting released in 1971, not 1970 (my bad, was going off memory, lol). I've corrected my original post, thanks!
That was a very exciting opening sequence! Is Karen alive? Was Jimmy caught? Did Roscoe P. Coltrain and Flash get their doughnuts? One thing is for sure...the restoration was sweet! Plubplubplubplub!
Love your work and your videos you make them so relaxed and not rushed or and funny which makes them great to whatch 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁😁or much love from the me in the UK 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
This one brought back some memories when I had this car incredible restore on both. And my feelings on the black and white is someone painted the black on it probably a kid like me that paid attention to detail and wanted it looking sweet.
Dude, u is de mann......u rock. And I love jimmy. Great restoration and don't worry about u'r videos being too long bro. I would watch them even if they were an hour long. I love to watch all the details bro!
GREAT to see you back! If you like Bud Light, you'll enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Tomarts hot wheels guide shows only white police cars with red and blue lights. I think I found a solution for wheels so you don't have to use brass tubes and glue. I was at Wal-mart today and found some 2mm crimp tubes. they may be the answer to securing the end when you use 2" head pins for the axle replacement.
Wowee am I late to the party lol. I am I the only one that enjoys the paint stripping segments, they are so satisfying. Also I love when you do the fine details such as the tail lights and fixing up the chrome finish. That really makes the car look really polished.
Fast forward!?!?! Never have, never will!!! Shorter format was ok but the longer ones are just as cool. As long as you’re putting videos up we will watch ‘cos you’re a genius and you’re nucking futs and we love it! 😂👍😉Keep ‘em coming Bro, we can’t get enough 😎👍
I like this because there is precedent. The California Highway Patrol had the 1967 Olds B07 Apprehender for one year. Now, the B07 is not the 442, but it’s a slick ride. This was shweet per usual, I hope you do one with CHiPpy decals. That would be awesome.
"What did you do today?" Ummmmm.......I watched vintage Hot Wheels restoration videos ALLLLLLL day! The police cruisers were always my favorite as a kid. Great video!!!!!!!!!! We just subbed.
Half of me comes for the restoration. The other half comes for the dialogue. It would have been cool to customize one of those like your mystery paint job. Since you had two and all...
I love your videos, they have a very therapeutic quality to them. One of the very few channels where I always watch the commercials, start to very end. Thanks for the hard work that you do.
Great job! I love them two cars, they look brand new! 👍 👍 👍.One thing, the megaphones on either side of the beacon could have been painted or sharpied a different couloir to make them more visible.
I saw a couple cruisers with the red light...one had the black 'State Police" decal on the door like the blue light ones, the other had a yellow "Police" decal with a 6 pointed star. They were identified as '73 Hot Wheels Redline. Neither had black body paint but both had opening hoods.
Thanks Norm! The red light police cruisers are rare and can fetch up to $400 if in mint original condition. We determined the black paint was just added by someone with a steady hand.
Great restoration as usual, love you videos and commentary. I have a matching redline cruiser red light/ metal base but all white with police stickers ( not transfers, ive never seen a cruiser black doors ,boot or bonnet either, looks to be a colour over.
Just catching this now. Love your work! I'm sure you know but the car with the metal base is the first run police cruiser from 1973. Someone painted it black. It was originally all white with paper POLICE decals. In 1974 they lost the door lines and changed the decal to the black and yellow one. Only 73 and 74 have metal bases, red lights and opening hoods. They were switched to plastic and the dome incorporated into the windshield and made blue. Sorry if this is old news.
Nice job with the decals....'tuning in to Tokyo', classic nipple gag. Quick question- is there an advantage using the 3m pads instead of regular automotive sandpaper?
Another great video, those police cruiser came out awesome with that white paint. You make them videos enjoyable, I tried to watch other videos from different channels but they are so boring hahahah keep it up

I like both formats! But this seemed to be the perfect length of time. Keep it up and keep the Jimmy skits commin'!
Uhh, what? Who fast forwards?
It seemed a bit too fast paced maybe. It was harder for me to get into it than the others. Or maybe I'm wrong!
I'll watch whatever you put out my dude.
Hmm.. This length is a-ok by me if it means frequent videos. It's still very easy to follow what you're doing.
I love the Super Troopers shoutout. "Mother of God"
The one thing i love about this channel is seeing all the diecast cars i use to have. I had cars by the hundreds.

I always click like before I start watching and I’m never disappointed 😀
Me too 🙂

Dwayne Cheeke absolutely. What a great channel
Very nice classics from the early blackwall era. They look fantastic!
Another amazing restoration, they look great all glossy, I sure hope Karen is recovering well

Do it! I started three years ago and truly is a great way to spend the time.
Don't like a post about a man knowing how sad his life is, what the hell's wrong with all of you. Sympathy people.
I like you enjoy “playtime” so it frees up time to go back to your past videos and see details of how and why and play wit da toys! Good stuff.👍🏽
Another great build sir

The old "Driver" music in the back ground during thre final touch up 😁 simply great
Awesome Restorations there sir
It would be cool to see some licence plates on the rear bumper . very nice job
I can make that happen!
I second the license plate idea. You have quite a few one liners that u can make into license plates that only us die hard fans would understand
