I challenge anyone to find a more entertaining YT restorer. We miss you D.R., please come back soon. It's like watching a competent die-cast version of the Red-Green show. Hands down my favorite subscription. We need our weekly "blubs" and Jimmy updates!
When my son was in auto body school , he painted the gas tank and side pieces of my motorcycle just like that just for practice. I thought it looked good then and it looks great on the Baron!
With ultimate respect, some of your paint experiments are kinda nuts. This one IS nuts... but so wonderful. So totally better than I expected. This Red Baron is an ass-kicker. Lovely work, and a pleasure to watch unfold.
I'm not normally a fan of gold anything, but I actually like this one. It has to be that black basecoat that's making the difference. Nice job making everything frankenfit together. The chassis details on the back really came to life against all that dark gold. I wasn't sure, am I'm still not, that the front axle tubes needed to be ground off. When you first did it, I was right there, "cut 'em off". But once you painted the chassis and the whole thing was assembled, I don't think it mattered. If you had left the chassis unpainted, then yes, definitely, get rid of 'em. But with the base painted, I really don't think it would've mattered. I've always really, really liked this car, and seeing different takes on it is really interesting. It's way up at the top of my list of favorite Hot Wheels in house designs, but strangely I only have one, and it's an unpainted one. Real quick edit: I forgot to do it while I was watching earlier, but I'll head over to 164 and sub now. Thanks for the reminder!
Your channel inspired me to start creating content on RUclips, i don't have much uploaded yet but I've had lots of fun with the stuff I've done so far. :) Great job on this resto! Looks amazing!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Your 1st video of you redoing the red baron was the 1st video i saw you do. I bought a red baron for my big brother when i was 9. Being a "kid sister" this was the only thing i had in common with my brother. Still got a big trunk of late 60s and 70s hot wheels we played with. LOVE THESE CANDY PAINTS. BLUBS TO JIMMY:)
Great job on the Baron, nice touch with the black and gold!..., but I was hoping on the truck getting restored. Edit: I see I'm not the only one. Jimmy, Go get that damn truck!
Do you think it would be as cool if it was all new and shiny? Or does it looking crusty make it look cool now? I’d almost like to enhance the rust and clear coat it, maybe put some Diecast Resurrection old timey paint on the doors and bin?
Yeah I kinda like it as it is, but it needs a more realistic look. Rust, dirt, worn paint (no fancy gloss on this sucker), maybe some subtitle dents. Fainted decals would be nice.
Again I am Blown Away by the awesome airbrushed paint you apply to these diecast cars., Got my T-shirt today and love it, fits perfect. from yer Blub#1...... #blubblubblub
The paint job matches the vehicle perfectly. Excellent job.
That Bronze Baron is absolutely gorgeous.
This custom Baron is killer! Love the metal flake
That paint effect is crazy. Never was a big fan of the Red Baron, but that paint works.on that contoured surface.

‘and a couple other little snacks here’.....best line ever! 🤣😍🤣
I love that 70s heavy metal flake look to the paint. The color is awesome! Looks great!
Should be able to do some crazy stuff once I start sectioning off parts of the body to use different flake on each part like on flashy gassers.
I must confess I wasn't sure about the paint when you started, but WOW! It's an absolutely beautiful work of art. Nice job!
I think the Junkyard Baron is the best example the casting!
That's a kick ass custom! The golden baron.
The beautiful Black Baron build! Love the colour combo.
Another excellent paint job. Good job.
That paint is BADASS!
It's superb! And that colour is mental. It really catches the light, and changes tone all the time. Awesome stuff.
Always inspiring. Great paint.
Antique Hot Wheels! Sweet. If Mattel were making them in the early part of the 20th century, this is probably what they'd look like.
that GOLDEN BARON looks great!
Thanks Ed, kind of a happy accident. Wasnt sure what that additive was going to look like.
Awesome "Gold Baron" Ace . Looks amazing ..... could've be a Bond Villain 😉
Yep I like it! The gold flake took it up a good notch too.. great work my friend.. that is BOSS!

When my son was in auto body school , he painted the gas tank and side pieces of my motorcycle just like that just for practice. I thought it looked good then and it looks great on the Baron!
A successful experiment. I am working on getting my hands on an OG redline Red Baron to restore. Appreciate the alternate look on this one.

With ultimate respect, some of your paint experiments are kinda nuts. This one IS nuts... but so wonderful. So totally better than I expected. This Red Baron is an ass-kicker. Lovely work, and a pleasure to watch unfold.
