OK Jimmy fans, I'm going to open up my PO box for a little while and you can send me your donor cars! Check the description. I plan to take it down after a week or so.
You want sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) as a substrate for 'filler' type cyanoacrylate repairs. I was using this in the late '70s, before the 'Net came along and blabbed all my car resto secrets. LOL Oh, and thx for mentioning the sponge-pad grit (1500). Not sure what I have to donate, but I'll look. AC
Nice vid, I personally find that these larger size white pearls work better over a dark base so black or dark blue maybe you can find another casting of this model and do the base in black and go over with the same pearl/flake mix?
I loved this one! I had a white '76 Gremlin with the "big 6." A 4.2 litre (258cid) motor with three speed automatic. It was the next best model to the Gremlin X having cloth seats, rear window defogger, plush carpeting, floor console shift and all in a medium blue that complimented the white exterior.
Sweet! I absolutely love it. Gremlins have a special place in my heart. Bought my first one when I was 14 and next year marks the 40th anniversary of that purchase. Over the years I have had 5. After watching this I now have a new goal to find 5 of the Gremlin Grinders and pay homage to them. Your build brought back memories from when the Grinders came out. Again I can't say enough about how bad ass your builds are and thank you for reigniting the fire in me to build one last Gremlin (which I'll drag my 3 boys into the experience)
That is probably my favorite one yet. The paint looks incredible! The decals were on point. I liked the way you applied the glue to the tubes too. Keep it up. I don't miss an episode.
The sparkling paint going through the decals looks great. The yellow headlights really set off the look of the car with the matching decals. Another great car.
This is what I've been waiting for. I had this in green and chrome as a kid and as an adult, it is my dream to buy a Gremlin and restore it and have it painted florescent green. Thanks for posting this.
Man that's sick love it. I still have my high school car it a 74 Gremlin. But now it has a Chevy 450 hp LT1 in it. It's freaking insane how fast it is. Keep up the good work bud.
Another great piece. For someone who states you are kind of a newby to this custom stuff and painting, your shit looks better than most others on RUclips. Can't wait for the next one.
I really dig what you do brother!! Between you, Outlaw Speedshop, and Sideways king my television is 1/64 scale hotness all the time. It's a good thing my wife and kids love to read. Keep it up man, I'm a fan for life.
I've used microscale liquid decal film and sprayed it on dry printed decals with the air brush or paint brush. It makes them tough to mess up and more durable.
I have a cool idea for you. Take an absolute junk heap of a car and fully restore half of it. Like take that liquid mask and paint off half of everything and restore the other half. I think it would make a great project!
I have a suggestion, when you glued the tubes to the chassis, maybe next time you could take a long axle or wire of the same size to hold the tubes straight while they set 👍
That’s a sweet restor, I help build a gremlin hot rod when I was younger, it had a small 800hp motor, built up 400 turbo tranny with stall converter, full cage, 5 point seats, chopped down Z linked ford 9” rear axel, mustang 2 front end with adjustable coil overs, munster street legal meats in the back and pizza cutters up front, drag bars of course. With all the mods that car was still street legal (barely) and yes that thing was scary af to launch off the line and the power to weight ratio was crazy.
There was a guy in Vocational school who had a Gremlin. He stuffed a 440 out of an old Plymouth in it wit a 727 Torqueflite Transmission. We called it the Grimline.
Tried to talk my hubby into doing the same thing. He said it was a crazy idea, so instead I stuffed a stroker 340 into a Jeep CJ7. When asked why, I'd always just say, "Go fast on dirt."
When trying too show off glitter or candy paints. I think a pinpoint light works the best. The one source of light gives a better reflection than flood lighting.
The Gremlin is sweet. Your tips on the Axle tubes genius! As well as the apoxy in your last video. I thank you. For your tips. Now if I can ever get the time. To put those tips to use.
This car was made same year as I was born lol damn I am old. You do great work, and love watching you restore these old cars I use to play with. I never had the Gremlin although.
Awesome 👍, glad you showed the bottom of the car I would've sworn it was called the "Greased Gremlin" , but I didn't have this one when I was a kid. Keep on keeping on.
I was thinking of making pancakes using some Man batter but i don`t think they would go down to well lmao. Liking the paint on this grinder number, nice one Diecast
Baking powder has baking soda in it but it also contains cream of tartar and corn starch. Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) is the active ingredient so, while they will both work, baking soda does not have extra stuff in it. Maybe that is why people say it works better.

Fancy some vintage Matchbox from across the pond?

Oh, and try to avoid the CA + NaHCO3 fumes. Not good.

Well Jimmy, as an AMC/Mopar fan, I'd say you need some more of those! Keep that box open!
Your BEST Build Yet .............You Go Mon !
I loved this one!

My neighbor used to have a Gremlin, one of those weird childhood memories you never forget for some reason ;)
Everyone's neighbor had a Gremlin back then.
@@yavrielsechelle7431 That is true when you think about it. Used to see a lot of them back in the day.
When I was a kid the car that sticks out was the guy across the streets LeCar
That is probably my favorite one yet. The paint looks incredible! The decals were on point. I liked the way you applied the glue to the tubes too. Keep it up. I don't miss an episode.

Blubs for Jimmy. Always enjoy your style of entertaining and presentation.
Who gave four thumbs down? WTF, are you jealous of a Canadian painted masterpiece! This was AWESOME !😎 Shades needed to see it sparkle! Oh so nice!!!!
Must have been the Man Batter...
This is what I've been waiting for. I had this in green and chrome as a kid and as an adult, it is my dream to buy a Gremlin and restore it and have it painted florescent green. Thanks for posting this.

I’m really digging those decals, I also liked how they were transparent so you can see the glitter through it.
This has to be your best Resto/Custom ever. Wow! Your right about the decals letting some of the glitter show thorough. A-Maze-ing!
Still just playing around seeing what is what. Once I collaborate all these ideas into something.. it’ll be a real piece of work!
Stick a pin through your axle tubes to make them align better and keep them straight.
Great restomod!
This technique had awesome results - keep it up Awesome!
I would like to see a video about making decals mate
Me too
Me too
Would like this also
Me too, please.
Me 2
Great job. My first car 72 Gremlin red with Starsky & Hutch stripe up the side!! 👍👍
The best day of the week is the day that Diecast Resurrection drops a video !
Blub Blub Blub Blub Blub Blub
Casting reminds me of the Roadkill Gremmy with the caddillac 500 in it. cuz this one's a gremlin with a massive motor. You made it look cool, very 70s
Cars are getting better and better👍🏻. Just AMAZING.
Wow that paint looks like snow.
This is definitely my favorite paint job so far
Sweet! I wouldn’t have thought it would have looked that good in white. Making me feel old...I was 5 in 74.....
Another great piece. For someone who states you are kind of a newby to this custom stuff and painting, your shit looks better than most others on RUclips. Can't wait for the next one.
Once I’ve tried everything at least once, we’ll really build some cool ones!
Turned out awesome! I can see the glitter through the decals, but I am sure it is even more pronounced when you're looking at it. Very cool. 😎
I’ve watched half a dozen of your rebuilds and this is my favorite so far.
Best looking Gremlin I've ever seen.
One of the best ones thus far
Sweeeeet Gremlin!!! The wheel & tire combo made it look so mean, now you need to find a Pacer 😆
Man, all that work, and at the end... it was *still* a Gremlin! LoL Just bustin' your chops, man. Fantastic job. The end result was pretty great.
The white and the yellow look great together, awesome resto-mod!!
I thought you was really happy about those paints so not surprised to see man batter
One of if not the best one i seen so far
Great little car! The sparkle DID work and it looks fantastically! Excellent wheel selection. Loads of fun to listen to you!
IMHO that is the coolest car that I've seen so far. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else copied that. Superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really dig what you do brother!! Between you, Outlaw Speedshop, and Sideways king my television is 1/64 scale hotness all the time. It's a good thing my wife and kids love to read. Keep it up man, I'm a fan for life.
Thanks man, I appreciate that
The baremetalHW challenge video is out. Amazing work (as always). Good luck Diecast!!
Interesting way to secure the axles, love the subtle sparkles, overall another awesome custom, Party on Wayne 😁
I have a 72 Gremlin in the garage...used to drag race it....Love the build
“It’s so sparkly!”
5 out of 5 blubs! Nice work. I really like how the sparkles show through the decals.
That was badass! The stickers look great with the sparkle beneath it shining through!
That paint job looks like a frigid Canadian winter morning.
Agreed ! It was friggin frigid this year !
Or a 12 year old who has just gotten her first pot of glitter makeup.
I've used microscale liquid decal film and sprayed it on dry printed decals with the air brush or paint brush. It makes them tough to mess up and more durable.
It looks real good!!
You've become one of the best painters around here!!
Woohoo pumping out the content dude 👍🏼 keep it up
It turned out amazing you can see the sparkles through the decals and the Tires you picked are amazing you out did your self on this one 👍👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩🤩
I have a cool idea for you. Take an absolute junk heap of a car and fully restore half of it. Like take that liquid mask and paint off half of everything and restore the other half. I think it would make a great project!
I would love to see how you make the decals.
It's got an awesome 70's vibe
I love the metallic paint with those decals.
Man I have started watching the videos again. Starved of content!
Love the sparkle! I think this car turned out great! The big ass Hoosier wheels look great!
I have a suggestion, when you glued the tubes to the chassis, maybe next time you could take a long axle or wire of the same size to hold the tubes straight while they set 👍
Blub#1 loves Gremlins..#BlubBlubBlub fabulous sparkling white,,,
A true wheel stander for sure! Nice work!
I like it! My parents used to have a dark green one when I was young! Good job!
Sounds.. like pure awesomeness!!!
Diecast Resurrection it was scary fun
Great job. Love those SPARKLES!!! Also love my Diecast Resurrection shirt that arrived yesterday. Woo hoo!
Yea post that on the FB if you have it!
There was a guy in Vocational school who had a Gremlin. He stuffed a 440 out of an old Plymouth in it wit a 727 Torqueflite Transmission. We called it the Grimline.

I thought you'd never make that thing look cool; but ....you did ! Another top quality production Thanks for sharing.
Digging the wheels and the sparkles
That sparkle paint really *pops*
When trying too show off glitter or candy paints. I think a pinpoint light works the best. The one source of light gives a better reflection than flood lighting.
That's a great paint job, decals and wheels/tires are excellent, too.
The Gremlin is sweet. Your tips on the Axle tubes genius! As well as the apoxy in your last video. I thank you. For your tips. Now if I can ever get the time. To put those tips to use.
Perfect. Train journey home and there’s a new Diecast video!!
Im really digging the sparklies
Came out great, love the paint job. Too good to use to pick up golf balls.
Sweet paint on this one Diecast I really loved it in the end.
Haha! I’m working on a gremlin gasser irl! This is perfect in context!
This car was made same year as I was born lol damn I am old. You do great work, and love watching you restore these old cars I use to play with. I never had the Gremlin although.
Great video dude. Love the decals on the White. It makes them pop. Looking forward to seeing the next man restoration! Awesome job
Wow this looks fantastic. The wheels where are great choice.
Awesome 👍, glad you showed the bottom of the car I would've sworn it was called the "Greased Gremlin" , but I didn't have this one when I was a kid. Keep on keeping on.
This is one of my favorite casting and I would love to have this in my collection
24:29 that’s the nostalgia!
Turned out really nice , I wasn't that keen on the yellow lights but I must admit there growing on me .
All the best .
Super sparkly. It sure looked like you had fun working on it.
Looking forward to the majorly sparkly paint
Dude! That thing is crazy wicked! Love it man... Awesome work as always!
gremlin has always had bit of a rebellious shape … nice job on the mod.
"just shaking paints" so that's what they're calling it now a days. Lol
Yep, until you get the "man batter" ...😆
"Picking up the balls" is what we call it down south
😆😆😆
Lol
Thank you Kanye, very cool!

Everything is so beautiful as always brother
Loved this restore. such a cool idea.
That looks fantastic mate ... keep making content 🚗👏
+
That turned out epic 😱😍
I like the beginning where the car comes up and drops off the redline XD
I was thinking of making pancakes using some Man batter but i don`t think they would go down to well lmao. Liking the paint on this grinder number, nice one Diecast
Nice work mate. I also seen people use the center punch to crimp the axels in place in stead of glue. 👍🏻
I use baking powder which seems to work fine but others have said that baking soda is better
I've just recently started watching these Hot Wheels resto videos, so please forgive the noob question, but...
What is the baking soda for?
Baking powder has baking soda in it but it also contains cream of tartar and corn starch. Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) is the active ingredient so, while they will both work, baking soda does not have extra stuff in it. Maybe that is why people say it works better.
"kind of looks like puddin' or...." LOL that line after putting up "just shaking the paints" is pretty funny
koooool , thank you......Gremlin....jus don't put water onnit...lol....good morning , Rock onnn
Robert
Looks absolutely great.
Built a401 all amc gremlin white with centerlines pizza cutters in front.I dig this build.I need one lol.
Great job as always. They use to use those Gremlin body's to make big block modified stock cars
Absolutely badass! Bravo dude!
Great resto. The paint came out amazing!
