I cant believe we are at issue 50, i still remember seeing the ad on tv and going crazy with excitement. Then picking the enterprise D up for the 1st time. That was almost 2 yrs ago, the collection is just HUGE!!!!!!!!!
I just bought the Round 2 1/350 scale model kit of the original Enterprise. It's a big bugger, nearly three Feet long, but as the original series is my favourite Star Trek, I just had to buy it. It's a fantastic model kit, in as much as I have the modelling skills of a chimpanzee, so you can just glue the thing together, spray-paint it in Light-Grey, slap-on the decals and have a brilliant representation of the original Enterprise. It cost £169/214 Euros, but I thought 'sod- it'; I want a big original USS Enterprise! Fantastic channel, love your videos. All the best mate....
mine just arrived an there is only one fault but it is on the nacelle top, looks like a piece of sprue has attached itself to the top and then been mistakenly painted over. will try and find a grey paint to match and sand it down myself. a replacement could be worse if i went down that avenue.
I just got mine today, im a bit upset because the saucer is bent from the neck, its not even or straight, it just dips to one side and im so frustrated about it. Do you ever get ships that are not aligned or "bent"? And what do you do about it?
Hello there IrishTrekkie another awesome review i loved this Enterprise but mines is damaged im waiting on replacement my deflector dish was broken and right nacelle was not glued proplery . but awesome review Looking forward to the centaur issue51
I'm from America I'm in your words are a cherry picker when these ships are concerned and this one I won't be getting there are so many enterprise ships like this different sizes and by different company I've gotten tired of looking at it if it were full metal maybe let's be honest the metal is not that high quality either
So there she is!Wow not bad at all! Wonder when this Issue will be here in Germany! Maybe we will have her in an earlier release! We are just reachig number 14 this month! Great vid like allways
Another great review. I think it is the luck of the draw when we get these models. Some people get scuff marks. I don't understand how yours could have so many. She is a beauty however, and scuff marks aside they did very well.
Hi IrishTrekkie, I got this model last year. I was so looking forward to getting it, but when I received it I was bitterly disappointed. The pylons and nacelles were hopelessly off line. I tried to straighten them, but I was frightened of breaking them. In the end I just put it back in the box and dumped it in a cupboard in disgust and it's been languishing there ever since. Do you have any suggestions how I could fix it?
For such a small model the original packs a hell of a lot in her. I hope they do some of these hero ones larger. I'd love a larger group of Enterprises and a Klingon Bird of Prey and say a Next Gen Romulan Warbird.
***** They would fold out into landing struts for when the saucer needed to do an emergency separation and land on a planet. A third strut was hidden by the neck.
***** heh well now you know. That same triangle design was also never seen on the 09 reboot Enterprise (Fuck JJ for that) Anyways This is indeed a must have for every hardcore trekkie that has loved Vintage trek from the 60s
Shes sure is a beauty!!!! Sorry to see you've got a few scuffs and marks in her. You must just be unlucky, i picked up mine yesterday and not a mark on her. Hope you and yours are all doing well, take it easy!!!!!
Thanks for your reviews they are awesome , I live in America and I will be ordering them soon , I hope they make a Reman Scimitar from The Star Trek movie and the Uss ares from axanar. Keep up the outstanding work
I've wondered for a while if ANYTHING of the original ship was really left when it underwent the refit. (Look up "ship of Theseus" on Wikipedia where they explain the paradox). I don't really like how visible some of the seams are (the Tholian ship has the same problem), but the dimension and lettering are much for faithful than the Johnny Lightning ship I have (which is technically the Constitution class Defiant, it's the same mold). Right now, my priority is getting ships that have never really been done before (a lot of ships from the latter seasons of DS9 and pretty much anything from "Enterprise") but it might be nice to pick this one up at some point.
toddsmitts I have to agree. But i can imagine they would have to had done the Constitution class defiant with various colors to match the accuracy of how that connie looked in TOS Epp the Tholian web and showing up being trapped in Spacial Interphase.
This is the one ship wish they would re-release without registry markings. Leave it blank and include a decal sheet for the original 12 ships the same as the old AMT/Ertl model kits.
I'm buying these individually, and am going in order of my favorite to least favorite ships. Naturally, this is a must for any collection. But, I do have the Johnny Lightning Original Enterprise, so is this worth another purchase of a ship comparable in scale?
as always you're the best. This is a month or so away for me but honestly for some reason I'm not looking forward to this one. I think its because we have a dozen or so other versions of this ship.
IrishTrekkie If I recall correctly. The Sphere design for the command section was one that would actualy be adopted for use not just on the Pasture but in the TOS/Entp era the Daedalus class USS Daedalus and other ships of that class along ships of the Olympic class medical ship.
My first plastic model had better seams than that. Shame that they can charge for a mag that was made using old pictures, include a badly done plastic model, and charge too much for.
Not as many flaws as I was expecting, lacking a bit of detail on the shuttlebay doors and missing the landing lights below the shuttlebay too. Like the little gold squares on the top of the saucer.

I know right haha

Awesome! I love the TOS style Enterprise along with Enterprise D are my favorites.

starship349 true true

Hey, when I got mine, it was bang on, the windows on the edge of the saucer section were slightly misaligned, but everything else was bang on!
Cool to know Samuel
Recently picked this one up, i am concerned about how tight it sits in the stand, i noticed some very light scratches after taking it off the stand.
Hello there IrishTrekkie another awesome review i loved this Enterprise but mines is damaged im waiting on replacement my deflector dish was broken and right nacelle was not glued proplery . but awesome review Looking forward to the centaur issue51
Thanks Ian, hopefully your replacement won't take too long
Fantastic!!! Great review, as always!
Tom Kittle Thanks
Spock was acting captain of the Enterprise during the Tholian incident and the temporary loss of Kirk.
“It’s now Friday. I’m hoping to get it up this evening.”
Oooh-errr! ;)
Can't wait to get mine. I just received the Enterprise C a few days ago. I am looking forward to issues 54 & 56.
ToobaTime06 Great
I just got mine in Australia but the bloody dish is missing. So I get replacement
Wish they would make a T O S version of a MIRANDA class I think it would be cool !.
APessimist 23 You never know :)
cool review as always man! I can see that the "USS Enterprise NCC-1701" on the saucer is off centre on yours as well!

Thanks Colin, it's a nice job overall
I have enjoyed star trek since I was young kid and I still do

You may have tried this already but using a hairdryer to heat up the plastic and aligning it worked for me
Taylor Gregory No, I haven't tried this. Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go.
For such a small model the original packs a hell of a lot in her. I hope they do some of these hero ones larger. I'd love a larger group of Enterprises and a Klingon Bird of Prey and say a Next Gen Romulan Warbird.
Never really noticed the triangle design on the bottom of the saucer section before.
:)

It's okay IrishTrekkie, she just bumped into a few meteors in her time. Great video just like they always are!
Have then issue you a new one I would! now have my first 3 love them!
Cool
I enjoy your reviews. You have a positive outlook. It's too bad though that your new ship had some issues.
Nice ship, and another nice review
Shes sure is a beauty!!!! Sorry to see you've got a few scuffs and marks in her. You must just be unlucky, i picked up mine yesterday and not a mark on her. Hope you and yours are all doing well, take it easy!!!!!
All good here Gary :)

Eaglemoss needs to hire a new editor...
Great review!

I'd love to see them do a special of Captain Proton's ship, that would be so cool, perhaps they could even include Satan's Robot to stand next to it.
This is the one ship wish they would re-release without registry markings. Leave it blank and include a decal sheet for the original 12 ships the same as the old AMT/Ertl model kits.

I believe the JL is a good model but I do not own it. I like this model but cannot say if it's much different and worth the purchase
as always you're the best. This is a month or so away for me but honestly for some reason I'm not looking forward to this one. I think its because we have a dozen or so other versions of this ship.
Thanks B I'll think you'll like it

Hard to find now
$15 to $20 models are never going to be perfect... My Star Brothers. This is a nice model. You just need to clean it up some, like most models.
😊
Joe Boss Wise words
IrishTrekkie
I felt bad for you regardless however, as you found more and more little issues.
I get it.
😊
I’m considering subscribing to this collection, but with flaws like that, I’d be sending it back demanding a replacement of better quality.
has an error in the paint, the navigation deflector is copper colored.
Let's be honest, this should have been Issue 1
My first plastic model had better seams than that. Shame that they can charge for a mag that was made using old pictures, include a badly done plastic model, and charge too much for.
Good review, sadly they are still struggling with the production quality of the Federation ships in this collection.
Thanks Stansman, I think the Fed ships are under the most scrutiny and any flaw is just killer but QA could do better
Such a beauty, but the stand is awful. It hides the ship.
I have to say that looks like shit with the dents, the seam, the scuffing....that's kind of ridiculous.
Not as many flaws as I was expecting, lacking a bit of detail on the shuttlebay doors and missing the landing lights below the shuttlebay too. Like the little gold squares on the top of the saucer.
