The Enterprise C (Non Probert Version) is one of my favorite ships. It was obviously designed by committee and in a hurry but it has a charming clunkiness about it.
Consider this: When this version of the Enterprise-C was encountered,... it was in an 'Alternate Universe'. I contend, therefore, that it is an alternate version of the Ambassador class starship. Logic? When in that Universe, many details of the Galaxy class Enterprise were , an alternate version of what we know. This encountered version does not match what was seen displayed on the Conference Lounge (observation Lounge) wall suggesting that it too was an alternate version of what we knew from those half-hull models. And there seems to be less of a Design lineage between the Enterprise 'B' and 'D'. - In My Opinion -
I did some research and yep it looks like the secondary hull shuttle bay doors are supposed to be blue. There is also some blue paint missing along the flanks too. The under-saucer Planetary sensor dome is the wrong shape and is also supposed to be light blue - the bridge dome is supposed to be white. and so are the escape pod hatches. The outer part of the blue plastic area on the deflector should be painted hull colour or light blue. There is a line of blue paint around and behind the Bussard caps. I'll forgive the lack of Photon Torpedo Launcher since they forgot to include one on the model I guess. They also forgot the backside windows/hatches on the rear under-scoop in the engineering hull. also missing are the rear facing conference lounge windows also all the belly mounted escape pod hatches are completely missing too. Yellow rectangles (Thrusters probably) are also missing from the back of the nacelles. They also forgot to paint the lateral senor array that is wrapped around the strut wings. and the warp core ejection system on the underside - and another raised blue detail panel right at the back on the underside. (and what I think are Transporter emitters on the underside) there is also a couple of tiny detail in red (possibly nav lights) but they look like those target logo things the 24th century ships often have (no idea what they are) there is some of them on the underside of the nacelles behind the struts. I can forgive the lack of Dorsal Transporter emitters as they are not on the original model they are only on the repaired model (Zuhkov) but they did miss a whole row of windows on the saucer too. I'll also forgive them not painting the whole side of the engineering hull blue - as that does look kinda stupid anyway.
I love the Enterprise C. This model is a bit of a mess but the ship itself is a perfect blend of the classic Enterprise and what was at the time the newest most advanced ship, the Enterprise D. I really wish we got to see more of it. I would love to see a spinoff showing us the adventures of the C and its crew.
The eaglemoss model is a mess. I mean look at the ortho and then look at the first in-episode image they show. The nacelles are completely wrong, they're rounded squares on the studio model but squashed rectangles on the eaglemoss model. The CG version has so many weird bumps inside the bussards when the same studio model shot shows only 5. It's almost like someone in QA didn't do the barest basic validation of the CG renderings before printing the mag. Also the forward neck torpedo launcher shown in the same studio model shot (again) is missing, and they put the Yamaguchi/Ambasador refit sensor dome on the C model when it had more of a TOS type dome below it's saucer.
Despite some flaws, I think she looks gorgeous. Love the size as well; one complaint I have about some of the ships is that they are a bit small. I have ordered the C and she should be here this week. Cheers mate!
I just got this ship... overall decent, but the lack of impulse is a huge omission. Two other flaws that kind of bug me are that the deflector is oversized, and the pylons when viewed in profile are completely vertical when they should be slightly swept back. Mine also came with slightly inward tilted nacelles, but that's nothing a hairdryer can't fix. Overall though, I like the size and details of this model.
I just got one fortunately the engines are straight the seem is near invisible and the windows are lined up correctly. But it sure has some over sights (yeah it has no Transporter emitters) but it also only has red nav lights and no white or green ones. it's missing the Impulse Engines from the mould entirely, the Photon Torpedo launcher is invisible. and the Saucer Shuttle bay is also completely missing. I wish they'd used a slightly paler blue on the Deflector dish though as the dark blue looks strange to me. Over all though from middle distance she look terrific : and it does make you appreciate the ship more to see it from other angles than onscreen. It does have one glaring design flaw though - it's saucer when seperated can only move on thruster power as it has no Impulse drive of its own. I would suggest that the ship would either need another engine mounted above the main one that splits with the saucer or it needs to small impulse engines like the D has on its saucer section. But then I've long thought the B needs to be redesigned a bit more to allow for 2 of it's 4 engines to stay on the Secondary hull when it splits too which would require subverting the natural split point in the neck. Anyway the C is lovely but I'd not recommend paying a huge premium for her. I even kinda like the old fashioned look - it at least explains better why they were barely around in the 24th Century. Even if they'd likely have been a lot more useful against rogue Klingons and the like than some Miranda would have. it's a shame the Centaur class was invented so late in the shows as something like that would have been really handy earlier on in Ds9 & TNG not that I dislike the Excelsior - but they did over use the poor thing - but they did shoot them really well in Ds9 so they actually ended up looking pretty impressive again unlike in TNG where they looked banal & tiny (which they are not they are huge ships way bigger than most 24th century ships even).
@IrishTrekkie I Love The Enterprise C, Especially the Enterprise C Micro Machines is pretty Much like ur Eaglemoss version because the Micro Machines also has No Impulse Engines.
ship looks good, one of my favs, but the lack of any windows, decals or any aztecing on the rear half of the engineering section really bugs me not to mention the lac of impulse engine, eaglemoss should really enhance this model, there's no reason why every ship shouldn't get to look as detailed as the NCC-1701-D
I just noticed that they have the wrong sensor dome on the ship profile, it shows the more elaborate sensor dome from the Zhukov type Ambassador class not the simpler one used on the Ent C.
I think they have the entire upper secondary Hull from the refit it has a spine that on the C meets the shuttlebay or nearly so on the later ones the spin stops way before - as it does in the model. If it did have Impulse engines they should be Blue the magazine shows them as red which is wrong. It also looks like the have the rear hull tapper and side rear bady flair the wrong shape too, even the Saucer attachment and the way the struts meet the engines are all wrong. It looks like they used the later ships for reference in error. it does have some C specific features but it has way to many that are not C features at all it's like muddling up the 2 main versions of the E and trying to make a "best of" version. How they missed the entire shuttle bay is missing or not picked out at least or put the wrong sensor on the saucer is beyond me.
IrishTrekkie I think I read somewhere that they forgot to put them on the studio model, probably because they weren't used on-screen. I guess we could assume they were behind retractable panels on the neck?
I am waiting on the XL version of the C. I have the XL D and E, and they pose nicely with the other smaller ships. I don't want the entire XL collection, but just the ship's that are supposed to be larger.
"Rachel"? That's Captain Garrett to you! Seriously I was sorry they didn't have a CG version of the Ambassador during the filming of DS9. It meant we never got to see it in battle the way we did the Excelsior, the Miranda, the Galaxy, and eventually the Nebula. You almost wonder if the Ambassador was being phased out at that point (which is curious because the decades old Excelsior and Miranda were still extremely common at that point), or that very few were built for whatever reason, even though you would think the Ambassador was meant to succeed the Excelsior the way the Excelsior succeeded the Constitution.
Beautiful looking ship, I love it!! I know they can't be perfect with the smallest of detail but missing some of the simplest and more prominent features like the impulse engine, phaser banks and transporter emitters just makes you wonder who is approving these final versions? Very much agree with you about the windows... don't include them in the mold if you can't paint them accurately
+ Colin Bridger They may have forgotten that not all nav lights are red - but they did remember most of the Phasers at least (though some strips seem to be missing still) - I get pretty irked by the magazines though they often have the labels in the wrong place and fail to mark key features - like where the hell are the Torpedo launchers on a Norway Class ? I still don't know.
got it today new Zealand that impulse engine big disapointment but still hard not to love this ship hallmark have also made good xmass decoration of this ship.
I'm kind of disappointed in the looks of this model. I'll likely still get it when it's available in the US but seems like there's a lot of flaws in it, namely the not very well hidden seams, mis-aligned paint and missing the impulse engine. Something else I noticed comes with the Lower Sensor Dome, the "housing" around it looks straight of the Ent-A/Excelsior designs. With that bulky "fixture" around it with the protruding parts. Not only is this thing on turned 90-degrees from how it "should be", this isn't what the LSD on the -C looks like! It's just a dome on the underside of the saucer! Those protruding bits are supposed to be the phaser emitters and the -C has phaser strips. So quite a mistake there as well.
I had to stop on the monthly deal from Eagelmoss because I couldn't afford it. I thought the E-C would look good...I was going to get it but after seeing this review not sure. The E-C is my second favorite Enterprise design...the fact this looks like a toss up between the refit version and the original...just doesn't look that good. They didn't get some shapes right and even left off the main impulse engine. I think I'll skip this....but not entirely sure.
The C looks a little bit uninspired,in TNG needs a Ship named Enterprise was older the D.The C has a Deflector like the A,but the Warpgondel has the Design of the younger D.The Story of this Ship is very good, the C was destroyed by defending of the Klingon Outpost Narendra 3.For the Klingon was this a heroism Fight and a honorable Dead.
I was really looking forward to this one, but i was a little disappointed when i got it out of the box. Something just doesn't look quite right about it. I don't think the saucer is thick enough underneath. Not the complete travesty that that refit Enterpirse model was though, with it's incredibly wonky nacelles, bare minimum detail and it's weird blue paint job. They should be making all the Enterprises as specials instead of wasting time with those god awful looking ships from the Uglyprise universe.
I just got into Eaglemoss ships. I have to say that with owning the B, C, D, Dx, E, Springfield Class, and Challenger Class that I find the C to be a BIG letdown. I'm really not a fan of it's size, I'd prefer it to be smaller like a Challenger class to scale better with the D and other ships on the shelf. The lack of impulse drive is unfortunate and frustrating. I really can't stand the deflector dish, it's too chunky and the outer aspect of it should be hull color and not blue. I prefer my deflectors painted rather than cheap looking plastic as well. All of the Eaglemoss ships I have gotten feel like nicely detailed miniature models except for this one. I look at it and all I see is cheap toy quality and lack of effort. I really hope Eaglemoss decides to revisit the C and produce a slightly smaller and much more accurately detailed model for the fleet. It's a shame considering this episode of TNG was incredible.
The Enterprise C (Non Probert Version) is one of my favorite ships. It was obviously designed by committee and in a hurry but it has a charming clunkiness about it.
How can they miss the impulse engine? this is the second time that happened.
Anyway the ship looks still great.
Zafran Orbian I know right
Voyager is missing quite a lot of key paint applications too I noticed.
Consider this:

awesome buddy! This ship is still a couple of months away for us over here!
bombarde1701a cheers dude. Your reviews a cool too
i added the Impulse engine, the phaser arrays the escape pods...now it looks great!
Despite some flaws, I think she looks gorgeous. Love the size as well; one complaint I have about some of the ships is that they are a bit small. I have ordered the C and she should be here this week. Cheers mate!
the torpedo tubes are in the battle section same place as the galaxy class right above the main deflector.
I can't wait to get mine. She looks awesome.

Just ordered this on Ebay tonight
Need Enterprise-J and SS Enterprise in that last shot
Lol. Very interesting point re: the location of the torpedo tubes... Where are they indeed?
***** They throw them out the windows haha
IrishTrekkie I think I read somewhere that they forgot to put them on the studio model, probably because they weren't used on-screen. I guess we could assume they were behind retractable panels on the neck?
the nacelles arent aligned properly
I really, really want to get the Enterprise C Hallmark Christmas ornament, but this one is nice two.

toddsmitts Interesting thoughts Todd or "Mr Smitts" ;)
One was at Wolf-359 In the opening of DS9.
Do you think they've fixed the engine error?
I just got an Ent-C for Black Friday. Still no impulse engines.
Beautiful looking ship, I love it!!

There is a discrepancy in the magazine. There is one more appearance of the Enterprise C. In Star Trek online she appears in a chapter of the game.
But that's non-canon.
got it today new Zealand that impulse engine big disapointment but still hard not to love this ship hallmark have also made good xmass decoration of this ship.
some big misses on this ship
Wow, What a bummer. Guess it’s faster than light speed or slow af. No middle ground for this ambassador class
I'm kind of disappointed in the looks of this model. I'll likely still get it when it's available in the US but seems like there's a lot of flaws in it, namely the not very well hidden seams, mis-aligned paint and missing the impulse engine.

Are you wearing an Enterprise era type uniform?!
bestirishfirefighter I wise but alas no I was not
Neat Ship

Red Alert, Klingon war
no impulse engine.....so sad.....
The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 C look as if it was designed 100% by humans. I don't see any outside influence to this design at all.
This is why I won't buy eaglemoss they seem to be putting out garbage
I just got into Eaglemoss ships. I have to say that with owning the B, C, D, Dx, E, Springfield Class, and Challenger Class that I find the C to be a BIG letdown.
