Hi Richard!
Is the upcoming webinar dates going to contain all of the new process? It’s coming up that the next one is 20th June, is that right?
I have the majority of your books etc and I’ve just done your online courses and bought all the numerical/verbal tests. However, these are now irrelevant. Are you going to be putting up a new course and practise question etc for the new format anytime soon? Thanks!
Hi Lauren, thanks for your business. Yes, the police changed the process literally overnight due to the pandemic, so we are working hard to update everything as soon as possible. Yes, the webinar will cover the new process. All the best, Richard

Hi guys , I’ve registered for my online assessment over a month ago now and still haven’t heard anything about my online assessment date . Have you guys gotten one yet ?

Thank you so much for this video. Although I have been a Special Constable for 10 years, I took nothing for granted. I completed this online assesment and passed, without referring to ANY of my experience in the police service. It's so important to listen to everything that is said in this presentation. It really is the difference between pass and fail. I have to say, the asesment isn't easy - and this, coming from me with a lot of experience in policing. Take your time, research, research and research some more. Be positive, and show that you have confidence. Body language is very important - don't slump, and try to answer every question that is asked. You are marked down if you fail to answer - but you are NOT marked down if you think about the question first. Good luck, and remember to prepare.
THANK YOU!!
Hi Richard,

Thank you. I am training young 16-18 Public Service Students. A great Video, Very helpful for them to watch
I did public services lvl 2 and 3 too. I figured it would be a useful course to do if you wanted to join the police. Turns out now its a necessity if you want to apply to any force.
Answer: at McDonald’s, majority of the time I led the front counter team. We needed to increase our monthly sales as they had declined. I started a weekly meeting where the team could brainstorm and share their ideas for innovating and finding new sales tactics. Although, we had some conflict as some were to reluctant to change, I used my experience to deter this. I made sure everyone understood their role in achieving this goal by explaining how that role will help us to achieve the end result. Also, by allotting time for brainstorming, it helped keep the motivation from the outset as everyone felt invested as they were all allowed a say on things. So, I worked with colleagues to put these ideas into presentations which we delivered to managers. Ultimately, I adopted several of the team’s ideas and ended up beating our annual sales target by 20%

Regarding stage 3 for the briefing exercise, are you able to write up notes on the information given to you and refer to this throughout your presentation? Obviously not completely looking at your information written down but as a guide and structure for your responses.

Hi, thanks! If you could post your question on my blog below my police recruitment advisory team will be able to help you: www.how2become.com/careers/police-officer/
As someone facing job and career loss due Covid I’ve been looking at the Police as an alternative career path. I don’t have a level 3 qualification. I contacted a Police Force who said in lieu of holding a level 3 I will sit exams in numeracy and calculations at level 3. Are these tests different to the ones in this video? Calculations at A level standard fill me somewhat with dread as my GCSE maths was some 24 years ago.
Hi Richard . Could you please do a video about sistuational judgement test for banker ? Thanks
Do the answers to the briefing exercise have to be written or recorded using your webcam?

Amazing video! I am going to apply for a PCSO post. I am going to be starting university in a a few months, where I will be applying to become a special. My question is if I apply to become a PCSO now and was unsuccessful, would I be required to wait 6 months before I can apply for the specials? Thank you
That information should be available on the website of the constabulary you're playing too, it's also a useful question to ask during interview. I think you'd have to wait 6 months though.
Hi Richard, is there any information you can find on the Northumbria Police Recruitment Process? I've only been able to find 4 core values on their website and no mention of the competencies. Thanks!
Also is it a guarantee that the core competencies open mindedness and taking ownership will be assessed in the video interview? Or can these change depending on the service?

Hey Jess, could I just ask you how long you waited from the time you registered for the online assessment to when you actually got the date to proceed with it ? I’ve been waiting a month now so just wanted to get an estimation , as I’m dying to get on with it :)
Hi Richard, I have a question (which I will also email to the recruitment team), I applied to the MET Police Force back in March, taking and passing online tests which led me to the Day 1 Assessment Centre but after a long wait for a date, it was revealed to me via an email in June that the force were not going to take on current applicants until 2021 due to Officers who were going to retire deciding staying on and also the force taking on quite a lot of new recruits earlier in the year. My question is, can I transfer my application to another force while keeping my progress from the previous tests I’ve achieved during my application for the MET? The reason I ask is because I’ve applied to more than one force in the past and had to take the same situational judgement test as I had before. All the very best Richard and keep safe.
Hi, thanks for your message. To be honest, my team will be able to answer this for you. You may have to apply again (which seems ridiculous) but we will confirm that for you. Stay positive and it's great news you passed! You'll get there!

During the video interview when you have 5 minutes to answer each question, do you have to use all of this time or can you end the video early if you have said all you can to answer the question?
You can stop the video whrever u feel, but I recommend to talk until the time stops :D
Yes, you can move on early if you wish. In the actual interview you get the full 5 minutes so my advice is to make the most of this. Ensure you go over the competencies and values in a natural way. This is why it really helps to prepare answers now 👍
Hi Richard, I thought core competencies were: serving the public , openness to change, professionalism etc.
Hi Lewis, they may still be for some forces... however, they have changed very recently due to the pandemic (I believe). My advice is to check with the force you are applying for and then use the most relevant video from my channel. I hope that helps and have a good day!

Contrary to the notion that spelling, grammar, and punctuation is vital, it actually isn't. It's explicitly advised to the contrary. This is because people will use different devices and not equally have access to spelling and grammar check.

Here is my attempt at the letter
Dear Mrs Smith,
We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with the extra protocols which are currently being employed by our local police force. The reason we have introduced extra police officers and the powers of stop and search onto the high street is because we have seen an increase of violent crime in the area including the use of Knives. Our number one priority is keeping, The general public and shop owners safe. We believe in order to achieve our goal an increased police presence and stop and search powers are warranted in this area. We are very sorry to hear that you feel you’ve not had the opportunity to give any feedback regarding our increased foot patrols we are very interested in working with local people and business owners in the area to help us achieve a safer environment for all who live, work and shop in the area.
We are very sorry to hear that your son was upset about the stop and search which he had to undergo by PC Bradley. I can ensure you that this procedure was not random or unwarranted. PC Bradly has reported in his incident report that Mr Ben Smith was fighting with another boy in the street. It was important at this stage for PC Bradley to intervene in order to achieve our goals of reducing crime in the area. We continue to monitor the situation in North Ficshire and regularly reevaluate our approach in order to offer the community the best possible service.
Kind Regards,
Name

Hi
Can you give me any guidance if vetting appeal is declined due to 3rd party, which is probably extended family that i dont even reside or have contact with.
how do i overcome this?
Hey mate, I know how you feel. Unfortunately my vetting was declined due to non-conviction information (allegations). So I get it's really frustrating, even more so when they don't explain what.
In your appeal you must demonstrate that you no longer associate with the person in question and get references from people. Don't rush the appeal process and take your time, it's a mistake I made and I paid for it unfortunately.
In your case, I think you mentioned you already appealed and it got declined. Unfortunately at that stage you're in the same boat as me mate, vetting is very unfair and not fit for purpose imo.
@@DweebeNerd thanks for the response
I have already got references from my local councillor
That should have been more than enough.
But i am convinced the vetting team at hutton hq pete simm has discrimination internally.
I have spoken to other vetting officers they have made it clear there are options like to put you in different locations but no option was given.
They claim to want to recruit from all backgrounds but that is all staged for the public eye.
Also if one has to be accountable for the whole extended family that means every officer is linked to a criminal.
That is impossible that the serving officers generation have had no interaction with the police ever.
It is discrimination..
@@kainaat8242 Hutton HQ as in Lancashire Constabulary? Because funnily enough that's where I applied and got rejected. Doesn't surprise me, they are very unfair and uptight about their decisions.
The fact I was found not guilty of criminal damage (was accused of damaging a 50 pound window) was not enough. Yet they allowed my mate in, who has a conviction for assault. Their process is utterly ludicrous.
@@kainaat8242 I'm considering to apply to else where as my cousin got rejected by Lancashire but accepted in Merseyside, I think different constabularies approach it differently but obviously follow the same procedures as each other to grant clearance or to refuse it etc
Hi there what is the educational requirements for the police in the uk
This page has all the info on that: police-recruitment.co.uk/eligibility-and-medical/
Hi, sorry to bother you but i had a email from the police saying i need to do Career Discussion after i finish stage 2 and stage 3 im confused on what this is
A "Career Discussion" following stages 2 and 3 in the police force likely involves evaluating your progress and planning your career path within the force. It's an opportunity to discuss your strengths, areas for improvement, and the next steps in your professional development.
@@CareerVidz can you please do video of what to say in career discussion if you have time

Do u need to go university to be a police officer in the uk ?
Hi, no you don't :)
CareerVidz okay thank u can u give me advice on what I can study in collage to be a police officer
@@modjae8685 Spelling!!
Gavin Edwards spelling ?
@@modjae8685 Hi Mate, you don't need a degree at first to join no, but you will need a degree to be a police officer. Assuming you don't have one, your option is to do a degree apprenticeship through the police, this is an option at pretty much every police recruitment now. Assuming you're going to college September? There is no specific A level you need, but most forces require an A level (sometimes 2) or a Level 3 equivalent, with a certain amount of UCAS points (This is for the university as you will be studying for a degree at a uni while employed in the police). Hope that helps.
I’m thinking about becoming a police officer but Idk what GCSE you have to pass? Anyone know?

I'm police from other country how can I join the UK police? Am I qualified to join?
Ha..those core competencies have never been used.
They have been used, so I would suggest do you research, son!
@@CareerVidz whos your son!, Point proven.
First off they are police constables not police officers, officers have been commissioned by the queen, an inspector is a police officer. I'm way too intelligent to join oath breakers anyway.
You are!
@@CareerVidz I am, I served in the military, while the real men go fight for their country, the oath breakers hide back here, murdering innocent women like the cowards they truly are. Men in black uniforms blindly following unlawful orders, sound familiar?
