PP 2000 is the kind of gun where you dont want a pistol, but also dont want to use anything bulkier than a submachine gun. MP5K, TEC-9, Scorpion, Micro UZI, Stechkin, just solid PDW firearms that can be used one handed
It is written in Russian "Light mashinegun" on both pictures, and the weapon itself was initially designed as a surpressive fire weapon, thus it have a bipod, beltfeed sistem and specific buttstock. As for caliber, it classifies this weapon as mashine pistol, but it isn't an SMG by it's purpose.
sucky sucky ten bucky This is actually not the case with some weapons. For example, the XM-177 "Commando" carbine, which was chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO was sometimes classified as a sub-machine gun due to its short barrel length.
the russians still developed their pistol calibers at the era model 1927 are designed. So they just use the already existing round,The 7.62x38R nagant revolver rounds
It was used until the mid-1950’s. The reason they didn’t stop building ppsh 41’s instead of the pps even though it was cheaper and faster to make is they didn’t want to convert already existing factories to make pps 43’s
Jesus they sure adore the 7.62 I think till 1950 that was the only caliber they showed them firing, its a good round but probably wud been better if they experimented with other sizes sooner, I think the pp-19 was their 1st multi-caliber smg.... better late than never I guess 🤷🏽♂️. Great video seen some great firearms.
PPS-43 was the best SMG of ww2. Very simple, controllable, cost less than ppsh and reliable asf

6:38 LAD is a light mashinegun, not SMG.
Русский Котэ has the format of an LMG but a pistol caliber, the caliber wins in defining the type of weapon

it looks like a copy of the MG42 but chambered in a pistol caliber.
interesting idea

Interesting, wish it went in chronological order although video is nice anyway because it shows some rare early submachine guns.

Yes.
PP-71 and PP-91 is the same gun. PP-71 is a prototype.
10:50 this is PP-91-01 KEDR-B (B - Bezshumny, Silenced) with integrated silencer.
ПП идут только в структуры полиции...армии достаточно АК.Все разработки ПП ведутся от желания продать на экспорт...и все!!!
О таком количестве даже не догадывался.
21:35 good trigger discipline lol.
Russia's grip magwell pdws are too cool
I thought the pps-43 was discontinued before ww2 ended. I heard that from somewhere because the materials to make it were very scarce.
