- Here's a recap of all the songs that competed for Croatia in Eurovision Song Contest from 1993 to 2023. Please, enjoy!
Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 28 times since making its debut at the 1993 contest. Their entry has since 1993, excluding from 2012 to 2018, been selected at the Dora pop festival, an event organised by the national public broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). Croatia's best result in the contest is a fourth-place finish in 1996 and 1999.
Croatia achieved six top ten results in seven years, with Magazin and Lidija sixth (1995), Maja Blagdan fourth (1996), former Magazin member Danijela Martinović fifth (1998), Doris Dragović (who was 11th for Yugoslavia in 1986) fourth (1999), Goran Karan ninth (2000), and Vanna tenth (2001). Since then, Croatia has failed to reach the top ten.
Croatia failed to reach the final for four years in succession (2010-2013), before choosing to not participate in 2014 and 2015. Croatia returned and reached the final in both 2016 and 2017, before again failing to reach the final for four consecutive contests (2018-2022). This non-qualification streak was broken in 2023, when Croatia advanced to the final. In total, Croatia has failed to reach the final in 9 of the last 14 contests it has entered.

2023 is the first croatian entry selected through dora to qualify since 2009
Technically 2008 since their 2009 entry was a televote NQ, which means that 2008 was the last Dora act to qualify to the final without juries.

And then they plummeted after the breakup, with Serbia and Bosnia having way better success in the contest in the 2000s. Modern day Dora is a travesty that needs to be changed.

Because Norway acused us of cheating and using Fake vocals which is not true

I am proud of our Let 3 boys for breaking the long NQ-streak and i just hope that our results at Eurovision will become much better in the future because we have enough potential. ŠČ from Croatia and see you next year! 🇭🇷♥️
They'd qualify more if they'd use their own language. Hopefully now after 4 failed English songs in a row and a success with their own language this year we get more.

This year's Croatian contestants Let 3 have been active since 1987, which is before Croatia participated in Eurovision, or even was independent from Yugoslavia
I will never know how Croatia's 2023 entry scored infinitely better than 2022 whilst simultaneously being the biggest troll entry.

Il pezzo dei Let3 è di un livello nettamente superiore. C'era da aspettarsi che un sacco di gente non capisse nulla di quello che volevano dire né tantomeno della complessità della loro musica. Del resto ci sta ancora gente che pensa che Zappa sia stato un burlone, quindi non mi stupisce più di tanto.

Mizerja is honestly a really good. Don't know how it didn't do well to qualify because it's purely beautiful vocals rooted in Crotian culture and nothing extraneous.

I would rather translate the 1994 song to “may you have all the love”
Also 1996 song has an english version which is called “divine love” which sounds better than “holy love”
1998’s song in croatian also has the word “neka” meaning “may” so also maybe its better “may it not dawn on me” idk sometimes its really hard to translate titles to make them have the same meaning in both languages
You literally named the entries from the years in which every country had to sing in local languages. The language rule was abolished in 1999.
