I mean, gumball had morals. The episode of Darwin restricting people's freedom in the name of safety is all about how you trade your freedom for safety. You get neither.
I tried watching the first episode of the series and I just couldn't get past it. It is the most mind-numbing and pandering kid show on Netflix, I cannot believe it was even conceived in the first place. I have a nephew who is constantly put in front of the screen watching cocomelon and I don't want that for them. Luckily, whenever they came over, they would always want to play with my Thomas toys, which is something I guess. But yeah, This show should not be seen by anyone of any age. It is an empty and worthless experience that deserves to be forgotten about.
The only time I knew of Mighty Express' existence was the trailers for seasons 1, 2, and its Christmas special. Those same trailers were the only times I ever saw footage for that steaming heap of scrap metal. I'm glad for two things. 1. I never saw the full episodes themselves. 2. It ended after its 7th season. I'll bet even Keith Chapman (the man behind the Bob the Builder and Paw Patrol) wasn't proud of this trash. This series is just the HiT, Sharon Miller, BWBA and AEG (even though AEG didn't exist yet) eras and even Chuggington, CGI Fireman Sam, and 2015 Bob the Builder, but 50 times worse.
I very much agree. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the only good shows out there are ones that are intelligent enough to actually be enjoyable, in this case, for adults (and older siblings) to watch them with their children. This is why shows like Bluey are so popular with even older audiences, because, in spite of them being targeted at preschoolers, they are not necessarily "preschool shows" in the same way that Cocomelon is a "preschool channel." The latter is merely the result of what happens when creators try to cater to preschoolers and preschoolers alone. It is that easy to settle for mediocrity when catering to kids only, at least, as long as one forgets about the fact that children have a huge potential to be smart. In fact, the whole reason I've loved the Thomas franchise ever since Kindergarten was because of the fact that most of the characters were based on real locomotives! (So sad to see the series go downhill.)
On seeing how bland Mighty Express is, I feel bad for my brother and sister-in-law showing it to their boys. I will be sure to show them good stuff when they're old enough, like the original Thomas & Friends. It may sound pathetic that we're even talking about these kinds of pre-school shows; but if we don't, your nephew and mine will become complacent with trash like Mighty Express, Cocomelon or Peppa Pig. I sure don't want that. Do you?
What annoys me on Mighty Express are as follows: - None of the trains except People-mover Penny are based on actual trains (Penny is the only train that is based on the San Francisco Cable trolley car) - The couplers are basically Lima or Roco model train couplers - The stories felt similar or the same as the previous - The train characters are restricted to haul only one or two rolling stock
I can only assume that the reason why people in the fandom or outside it never talk about Mighty Express is because they either aren't aware of its existence or they are but choose not to talk about it because it isn't really worth it. That is, if they watched it or not, like me, for example. Whether they consider it bad or not, it's not exactly a popular or noteworthy show like Paw Patrol or Chuggington. People in the Thomas fandom mostly discuss things relating to that franchise, and while Mighty Express is a show about talking vehicles similar to Thomas, I see more people talk about Chuggington because that's not only a more popular series that's been around longer but also because of how infamous it is amongst the fandom. Even if it is just them riffing on the series. While I, too, consider TME to be worse than both its sister show and Chuggington, isn't really worth talking about in all honesty. I don't just wanna say because I think it's bad as I've never watched it, but just because it's not for me. And that is because of its writing. I feel like the chances of seeing people actually talk about this show is if they had either watched Paw Patrol and then watched this or any very young kids that have watched this themselves. This show in my eyes will probably just be remembered as that one "spin-off" or alternate universe series to Paw Patrol but all of the talking dogs are replaced with talking trains. Despite not being a good show necessarily, the show is harmless which could also be a reason why you don't see people talk about it. And even though you put it up there with shows like Cocomelon, I don't think any kids show can surprass the amount of crap that is Cocomelon. At least (even though I never watched it again) Mighty Express doesn't make me feel uncomfortable and the animation looks good. And it doesn't star a baby. Sorry that I ranted on for like the third time on your channel lol. I also think a lot of my grammar needs improving because I feel like a lot of what I just typed came off as sloppy. Looking forward to your review on The Little Engine That Could 2011 movie.
The second All Engines Go came out, the second everything went downhill for vehicle animated series', and it's not just All Engines Go, every single vehicle animated series might end up sucking because of the changes that every single children's show had to do (except Bluey, Bluey ended up becoming good by itself and I'm thankful that we at least currently have one good children's show, same goes with Sesame Street which is still cooking to this day, shoutout to Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrissett for giving us a godsend of a children's show). As a 2000s kid, I find that painful and tragic that vehicle shows we grew up on, suddenly don't have the same charm and continuity as they did back then. Tragic times indeed 😞
At least for the Miller era, the engines were actually doing train stuff, not doing anything stupid by jumping off the tracks. They acted like trains, and it's only the writing that was bad.
I can't believe I'm saying this but at least the bwba era the characters look like trains All engines go looks like rubber blobs painted like Thomas characters
I could already tell this "stupid choo choo train cartoon" was terrible without even watching it. And not to mention it's clearly a wannabe off Thomas and Paw Patroll. This was a good review of Mighty Express and I'm looking forward to your other reviews in the future. Once again, I love the music you use in this review. I got to say, out of context this entire part is actually funny and very Unlucky Tug like 22:09 - 23:51 .
Trailer for this Thomas "bootleg" be like: Hey kids! Are you tired of seeing grey faces on trains? Watch whatever this show is. It's like a mix of paw patrol having a baby with Thomas and Friends and Thomas on crack. Watch now!
Speaking of shows featuring sentient vehicles that are “actually good”. Have you ever of this show called Construction Site? it was created by the Jim Henson company back in 1999. To put simply, it’s kinda like Bob the Builder but with a bigger budget. I suggest you should watch some of the episodes if you have the chance, just watching these animatronic vehicles moving is so fascinating.
Hey, Wak! After your review, I checked out a few clips of the show myself, and I think I've seen everything I have to see about it. I love your ideas to fix Mighty Express and I love the new designs you created for the main train characters and the adult human drivers. In my universe though, I think I'd make the trains human child characters who drive the trains, and each one of them would have an adult who helps and mentors them (Save for Red and Flicker, who would have one adult who mentors both of them) and act as their parental figures. I'd keep Tricky Ricky and Sneaky Stella as human kids though, and are the ones who constantly screw over the kid drivers, with their adult mentors backing them up whenever they do so. But overall, great review!
Ooh! I like that idea! It would allow for more scenarios where the trains get into trouble and have to call on the adult mentors to help them get out of the jam. Personally, I would make the railroad operations (slightly) more realistic (maybe not as much as Thomas, but maybe have an actual rail yard where they pick up their rail cars for the jobs, and perhaps use ones slightly more suited for the job. Also, perhaps have realistic signals and operators like in Thomas and Friends.) Honestly, my take on the characters is similar to Wak's (maybe a little different) - most of them mean well but have at least one weakness - or a personality train that is sometimes a strength and sometimes a weakness. For example, Nate has a strong desire to do good and make the world a better place, and he is bold, confident, and heroic (like in the show), but sometimes he gets over-confident and tries to do too much, or he tries to find ways to do good but they end up causing more harm than good, and he has to try and figure out how to sort it all out in the end (this was touched on just a little in the show, but maybe put a little more emphasis on it). Also, perhaps the human kids could still be helping their parents run the different businesses in town. I like the kids getting a lot of the focus - it's just weird that there are no adults in town at all.
@@davydigger708 I'm glad you like my ideas, mate. But keep in mind, in this universe, the kid trains, such as Freight Nate, are human children themselves, and they drive the non-sentient trains. The adults who accompany them are the ones who mentor them on how to do their jobs properly, a bit like the dynamic between the three trainees and their respective mentors in Chuggington's seasons 4 and 5. I intend to keep Sneaky Stella as a child, and she and Tricky Ricky tend to screw over the kid drivers. I have one idea that in one instance, they scare Penny with a ghost story, and then scare her even more by pretending to be the ghost itself. And when Alexa (Penny's adult mentor in this version) finds out what they're up to, she gives them a taste of their own medicine by pretending to be a ghost and scaring them silly.
This is gonna sound extremely stupid but the biggest reason I hate Mighty Express and am mad at it is because of the episode about the missing wood. They chose to use a beaver as the culprit when the character should have been a wood chipper instead. It’s a show about talking heavy machines and they really f ed up bad missing that as an opportunity. They could have introduced a talking wood chipper as a character, which to my knowledge, has never been done in a SINGLE show about talking machines, but no, they decided to use the same “construction worker beaver” cliche that everyone else uses. Why not add a more unusual type of heavy machine? No one else has done that.
I've seen only one episode of Mighty Express and already I hate it. Since it's one of those shows that has a lazy repetitive storyline, I've pretty much seen the entire show. It's so sad to see how far we've come from good Kid shows about talking vehicles to a complete train wreck of garbage. Things like this make me lose faith in the entertainment and Toy industry as a whole. When your kids' show gets upstaged by AEG of all things, You know you screwed up.
I hate the character designs of the locomotives in mighty express. They mostly just look like road vehicles but with train wheels. I want to take the person who designed them to come out side and look at a real train
I agree 100%. Only a select few of the characters from Mighty Express look like they are at least sort of based on real locomotives but like Wak said, most of them literally look like road vehicles turned into trains.
I feel like most, if not all, cartoons/shows about trains these days don't really hit home in any way. The biggest seller for the Railway Series/early Thomas and Friends show was that they were real engines, held in real worlds, with real people, doing real jobs, and real responsibility if they mess up. Nothing zany, just big machines doing what they were built to do. But now it is all jumps, big spins, wacky physics and bendable trains. There is nothing keeping the "real" feel of the trains. While the stretchy styles are great for things like people/animals, and even cars if executed well, locomotives just don't look right within this style. The closest I have seen to this style working with trains was Chuggington, but it still didn't seem right. I think if a studio were to make a cartoon about actual anthropomorphic trains that can't jump off the tracks, and use them to do actual jobs, if done right it could be a great show/movie. However, I really like your idea of a redesign! I am an amateur Blender animater, and I love modelling/animating trains and steam effects and am experimenting with Blender's physics. While I am not great at it, I would love to help work on models for a redesign. If anyone reading this wants to make a fan spin-off of the show, I would be happy to help if I'm not busy with other projects!
32:40 similar thing happened with another Netflix show that’s actually good called Hilda. In 2020 a plush company called GUND produced some Hilda merchandise. It wasn’t big just some bigger plushies of Hilda and Twig, along with some blind bag keychains plushies that had some of the characters. Around 2022 they dropped the license to produce more merch of the show due to unknown reasons. I think they stopped due to what you basically said about the merch. Not a lot of people saw it or had exposure to it so it didn’t really sell well. Which kinda sucks because compare to a show like Mighty Express Hilda is actually a quality cartoon and has better morals.
Frostini is actually based on a real train the cb&q pioneer zephyr. Also I realized most of the chuggington characters are named after American railyards and stations.
@@WaksWorld05 emery is named after emeryville California which has a major Amtrak staton, Brewster is a name of a w&le yard, and Wilson is named after a Chicago rta yard. Also harrison is a cn railyard
Honestly the only reason I even knew this show existed was because target put models of this show right next to Thomas and friends. I also tend to see a lot of them just collecting dust on the shelves. Even though all engines go occasionally gets buyers
Fun fact: theres a cartoon form 1949 called "Big Tim" its a story about a yellow diesel engine with a red cap who one day is told by Stanley about a green man named "Kim Friction" who grabs the rolling barrings too tightly and causing confusion and delay. It also has the same animation as AEG but being made in 1949 it was acually interesting and it wasn't a reboot in fact it was made by UPA and Timken! (2 Defunct companies)
I haven't seen Mighty Express before, but even when I saw the ad for the show, I had a feeling this was going to be, poor, like even chuggington, a show that's been criticized as a "Thomas and friends knock off" was more engaging and interesting to me that this show, heck, I can't believe I'm saying this, but this honestly makes All Engines Go, look like a spiritual successor to the OG Thomas. And we all know how much hate that show gets, and when you went and fixed the show, I was honestly thinking "wow, you know I'd rather watch this version of Mighty Express, and thr actual show" as someone who watches stuff like Thomas, Bob The Builder, and Cars, I completely agree with you on this one.
I’ll be looking forward to see this! Speaking of train shows for kids, do you know the short animated series called “Team GeoTrax”, based on the toy train brand GeoTrax from the 2000s era? The animated children’s series of GeoTrax is about a team of sentient trains, planes and cars, and their engineers working together in GeoTown to make their community a better place to be, as they learn about teamwork and communication along the way down the tracks. The members of the GeoTrax Team are; Aero & Eric the Fastest Team, Goggles & Bunsen the Smartest Team, Bull & Bruno the Toughest Team, Woohoo & Opie the Most Confused Team, Sheffield & Jenkins the Most Generous Team, Old Rust & Tex the Oldest Team, Knight & Sir John the Most Admired Team, Steamer & Samuel the Hardest Working Team, Ironface & Irving the Stubborn Team, Pumper, Peyton & Paul the Track Repair Team, Loopy Loco & Darren the Most Daring Team, Jumbo & Captain Jim the Biggest Team, and Marshall & Cap the Most Trusted Team, and again Team GeoTrax are Brutus & Victor the Biggest Bullies! Would you be interested in making a review or retrospective video on Team GeoTrax some day, Joachim? Here are four episodes of the GeoTrax series for you to watch, to see what you think about the show. “Team GeoTrax, All Aboard!” 🚂🚅🚃🛩️🛤️🏙️ 1. The sequence where they get the "mega-mission" alone is full of problems. They always call all the trains together even when they've already picked out the only one they need. What kind of railway only does one thing a day? Do they really need to wash and tune up a loco before every assignment? Why would washing controls be built like a DJ booth? Every time a car is brought out and the camera spins around it, I feel like it's saying "Available at all good toy shops." Taking off with such speed that the train comes off the rails is extremely dangerous and the whole thing is loaded with catchphrases.
Nice Video! Your points were well made and the editing was pretty decent lol Although Frostini and Action Chugger (minus the comical ginmicks they have) actually do have real life basis's (ik im a fuckin 🤓🤓)
Have you heard of the animated tv series "Yoko"? It came out in November 13 2015 and I remember watching it a few years ago. I remembered it originally aired on Netflix about some time ago and I was already impressed by how good the show looked upon watching it for the first time. The characters were all quite charming, (and kinda blocky, too) especially Mai, (my favorite out of the trio, consisting of Vik and Oto) whom I actually found to adore, and the personalities of each of the characters were all unique, basically to make the trio different. I was a little disappointed when I found out that the show was removed from Netflix after it has been there for about a few years, although I did realize that the show was on RUclips for quite some time, so I'm glad I'm still able to watch the episodes I watched. It was one of my favorite shows when I was a young teen!
I don't hate Mighty Express (I even don't mind having dreams about that show), but there were flaws, such as some of the music, the human character designs, the fact that it was rushed during production and uses a very strict formula except for the shorts, which are more slice-of-life. I used to love the show and I watched the entire series (due to being a fan of Meesha Contreras' voice acting), but now based on noticing the flaws from the start and noticing negative reviews, now I'm starting to realize the harsh and uncomfortable reality that it is just another generic "baby show" that Thomas fans hate and as a result, I'm no longer a fan of that show. :(
Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!!!!! I can’t wait to see your review on mighty express man I was looking forward to see this I can’t wait to see how bad mighty express really is after it makes me mighty depressed 😅😂
This might be an unpopular weird opinion but I think the concept could work (let me explain). You see there are children’s railways in real life (particularly in Europe, like Ukraine) where children run railways and learn new skills and if the show went in that direction I think it could make the show at least somewhat better.
Heck there’s even one called the Downs Light Railway in Britain so one could work the idea of a children’s railway into the Railway Series books or the show 😃
at least blues clues is entertaining, steve solves all clues in each episode with his friends to help him out on each clue and to figure out what's going on with his day to day activities with blue and other inanimate objects.
The thing that I like about Chuggington is that they base some of their engines off of real ones for an example rooster is based off the class 55 Deltic loco, which was built in British railways
Did forget to say this they are exactly like Blaze and the Monster Machines which is another show made by the same company, and the characters act alot like the characters from Blaze and the Monster Machines as well, also its like also how the town is run no human grownups but two kids in the whole city and its filled with Monster Trucks like how Cars is with cars.
There’s even something worse that I never seen before. It says the name of the episode with a picture of it in the beginning, but it doesn’t have any texts.
Hey, unrelated, but could you do a review on Robot Trains? It's a kids TV show about talking trains, that can both talk and interact as humans, without the need of them. I know it's pretty far from being something Thomas to be a rip off of it, but I kinda wants someone in the fandom to talk about it, since it's a show that replaced Thomas's timeslot in the TV channel here in my country
Well what about the adventures of Chuck and friends?? It's a Talking vehicle show about talking trucks, must watch. All episodes can be found here on RUclips. Please review if you have the time to?
Someone's finally covered this joke, I've seen the merchandise in person and it's very much like McDonald's happy meal crap but so much cheaper, if I could add pictures in comments I'd insert seeing a bucket of those trains reduced from £15 to literally £2 each, nobody wanted them
Fun fact thomas is older than gorden thomas built in 1915 and gorden built in 1922 thomas is a lbscr e2 and gorden is lner a3 that were rebuilts from a1s
I would rather pull a C&O L2 Hudson up the grades of the Snowdom Mountain Railway with nothing but my own hands than watch a single second of Mighty Express
You know when you were talking about the fact that the trains look like road vehicles on train tracks? This reminds me of some anthropomorphic animal species designs. They end up looking more like hybrids or mammals rather than the animal they are based on. So let me explain this to you. I know that this is a bit off topic but it relates to the looks of the Mighty Express characters. An anthropomorphic cat still looks like a cat while also being sapient. All they really do to change the cat is have it stand up on 2 legs, that's literally it. It can still be classified as a pure cat and I can see it as a legit species of feline on planet Earth. Meanwhile, fish characters (like sharks) are capable of surviving on land, have legs and have canine-like ears. This makes them look more like hybrids or mammals with their traits rather than fish while also being human like. Today, I saw somebody's guitarfish OC and due to the canine like ears, legs and arms, it looked more like some sort of canine of an ambiguous type or hybrid rather than a guitarfish. Another animal that gets way too anthropomorphised are insects. The moth from Retrospecter feels more like a moth/mammal hybrid or mammal with moth like parts rather than an actual moth. She even has a skeletal structure reminiscient of a mammal which makes it even more absurd to believe that she's an invertebrate! I know that anthro animals can take as many liberaties with the source material as they want but there are limits of what you can do with it so it doesn't look like a hybrid or imposter mammal. Also, this is off topic but that moth looks like Someity (one of the Paralympics mascots). Also they share lots more similarites than just appearence (e.g both being created by someone who's name starts with "R" (in English) and both being able to pick up a supernumerary amount of objects). Since it's implied that Someity was created before the moth, should the JOC sue Retrospecter? I know that it's not intentional but unintentional bootlegs can still get sued. Nobody actually pointed this out apart from me, which isn't too surprising considering that Someity unfortunately is an obscure character outside of Japan with many outsiders learning about the character through immense luck (myself included). But it also is a bit surprising considering that Someity's Paralympics were on at the time the Retrospecter mod released and was a recent thing so I was expected at least 1 person to point it out. Don't forget I saw somebody's dragon character was just a human with dragon parts slapped on her, taking this over-anthropomorphism to the next level. Well I guess anything can be considered the thing it claims to be as long as it has the latter's traits plastered on it these days... Also, no I'm not being mean or harrasing anybody who designs characters like this. It's artistic liberation and you can do whatever you want with your OCs. Anatomical accuracy doesn't matter to most people. When I design my own anthro animals, they'd be anthropomorphic while also being anatomically accurate enough to be considered whatever animal they will be. For example, anthro fish will lack legs, canine ears and will be unable to survive on land and the insects will look like themselves but with a humanoid stance and very minor changes.
Might Express is so incredibly mid. I just feel dead inside watching it. At least for AEG, we get to feel something other than hollowness. For a lot of Thomas fans, it's pure, unadulterated hatred. For me, it bounces between giddy, sadness, the feeling you get when you know you're being advertised to and have become numb to it, and sometimes even mildly disturbed (mostly from the times the animators said "screw it" and let the trains stand on their hind wheels).
Have you heard of this talking vehicle show named "Construction Site" made by The Jim Hanson Company back in 1999. It's like Bob the Builder, but more mature because there are episodes like Truckmate, Junkyard, Emmission Impossible, etc that have words like 5tup1d, 1d10t, Fu*k, etc.
This comment will not have anything to do with Mighty Express. But if anyone can make a vehicle show like Thomas, Chuggington, Cars, Theodore Tugboat, Underground Ernie, Bob the Builder, and even TUGS. Something makes me think of getting the idea of making a train show mixed within the likes of The Simpsons, South Park, American Dad, Smiling Friends, F is for Family, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and even the Fionna and Cake adult oriented Adventure Time spin-off. Wouldn't that be interesting? This time, I'll say something about Mighty Express. It is not for me and I barely have any interest if it's really one of those kids' shows that gives Barney, Cocomelon, or Ryan's World a run for their money.
What would you rather watch instead of Mighty Express?

The trains are literally babies.
Hope you enjoyed watching this video, it’s been a big passion project of mine.
Yea true
Perhaps PAW Patrol’s runaway success convinced Keith Chapman he didn’t need to try anymore.
Paw patrols works because are pets driving vehicles
Maybe there's something going on in his life that's impacting his ability to write shows.
As a teen who grew up with Chiggington i need bleach to unsee what they have done to my childhood
You should have called it “Shitey Express”, because shite rhymes with might.
Okay, you didn't have to explain it
@@AutoToonsAnimation I had to just in case the viewers (and the creator) aren’t 100% familiar with British slang.
absolute genius
I could already tell this "stupid choo choo train cartoon" was terrible without even watching it. And not to mention it's clearly a wannabe off Thomas and Paw Patroll.
This was a good review of Mighty Express and I'm looking forward to your other reviews in the future.
Once again, I love the music you use in this review.
I got to say, out of context this entire part is actually funny and very Unlucky Tug like 22:09 - 23:51 .
You know this show's a failure amongst the train community when both Chuggington and All Engines Go manage to garner decently sized fanbases.
That little kids show is nothing like Thomas & Friends
Considering Spin Master (like Mattel) is a toy company, I think we all know why it was made.
2248 (The engine you used as an example of a basis for Belle) is still in existence today.
I say exists and not around because she is currently in pieces due to getting an overhaul.
This is technically Chuggington for if they were Paw Patrol
I’ve seen Construction Site!
Also, perhaps have realistic signals and operators like in Thomas and Friends.)
Honestly, my take on the characters is similar to Wak's (maybe a little different) - most of them mean well but have at least one weakness - or a personality train that is sometimes a strength and sometimes a weakness.
When you’re upstaged by the BtB reboot, All Engines Go, Cars 2, The Little Cars, and A Cars Life, you know you messed up BIG TIME.
The moment I saw those happy meal rejects at Target, I knew they wouldn't last long. And low and behold they didn't.
Yeah, they look like if a tonka lorry body was put on an engine chassis.
@@AlexsStopMotionAdventures 100% agreed, the bodies of these trains look way too childish and unrealistic to fit into the real world for certain.
@@fexploder3281 yeah, they are all a poor man’s Flynn.
@@AlexsStopMotionAdventures Yeah. In fact, Rescue Red from ME resembles Flynn from TTTE a slight bit but made poorly.
Never thought I’d ever hear Day of the Diesels and better in the same sentence
Blue Mountain mystery is better than day of the diesels.
I personally wish Mattel kept the original series running while Mighty Express should be the whole AEG representation.
Agreed.
Me too
35:24 ok i love these designs These actually should have been what train characters could have been in Bob the Builder
Hilda had merch?
I didn’t think other Thomas fans hated Paw Patrol. I mean I’m still a Thomas Fan and when I was a kid, I liked Paw Patrol
I wish there was someone who made "engine wars", there T&F fights against it's clones
I mean The MilanToon Channel canonically shows Freight Nate getting killed by Muck in the April Fools Crotoonia Movie video.
Frostini is actually based on a real train the cb&q pioneer zephyr. Also I realized most of the chuggington characters are named after American railyards and stations.
Examples of American rail yards and stations?
@@WaksWorld05 emery is named after emeryville California which has a major Amtrak staton, Brewster is a name of a w&le yard, and Wilson is named after a Chicago rta yard. Also harrison is a cn railyard
Honestly the only reason I even knew this show existed was because target put models of this show right next to Thomas and friends.
I also tend to see a lot of them just collecting dust on the shelves. Even though all engines go occasionally gets buyers
Mighty express is a ripoff of not only chuggington, but their other show too. Literally all of the characters are ripoffs of paw patrol.
My 1 year old brother loves that show
Paw patrol*
Fun fact: theres a cartoon form 1949 called "Big Tim" its a story about a yellow diesel engine with a red cap who one day is told by Stanley about a green man named "Kim Friction" who grabs the rolling barrings too tightly and causing confusion and delay. It also has the same animation as AEG but being made in 1949 it was acually interesting and it wasn't a reboot in fact it was made by UPA and Timken! (2 Defunct companies)
Writers of mighty express: Uh what do little kids like? I have an idea let’s ask them and throw almost all answers given into our show
LOL look where that got them
It's pretty weird how every kid's cartoon where a child runs everything.
Honestly, AEG looks and sounds tame in comparison to this.
The matpat videos are a sin against god, the show is mid, the films are the holy bibles of paw patrol. Well put
37:31 Another thing I would do is actually establish where the Engines sleep at night like maybe a roundhouse or shed near Misson Station
Same
The trains in mighty express look like they just asked AI To give them a train image and made a model of it
The humans in this show look like they came from a terrible Doraemon ripoff from China.
Imma be real, the trains in mighty express don’t even look like trains, they look like trucks or buses.
And to believe this show was created by Keith Chapman the man who gave us Bob the Builder and Paw Patrol
Another great old kids show is Brum. I really wish kids entertainment would be more focused on being.. well.. entertaining instead of loud and flashy

Although Frostini and Action Chugger (minus the comical ginmicks they have) actually do have real life basis's (ik im a fuckin 🤓🤓)

Technically, Frostini is more or less based on the Pioneer Zephyr from what I can see. But definitely has his own elements as well.
Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!!!!! I can’t wait to see your review on mighty express man I was looking forward to see this I can’t wait to see how bad mighty express really is after it makes me mighty depressed 😅😂
Here’s a good show idea that’s for kids. Lego Ninjago.
Keith chapman basically stopped trying after PAW Patrol’s success
This might be an unpopular weird opinion but I think the concept could work (let me explain). You see there are children’s railways in real life (particularly in Europe, like Ukraine) where children run railways and learn new skills and if the show went in that direction I think it could make the show at least somewhat better.
Heck there’s even one called the Downs Light Railway in Britain so one could work the idea of a children’s railway into the Railway Series books or the show 😃
at least blues clues is entertaining, steve solves all clues in each episode with his friends to help him out on each clue and to figure out what's going on with his day to day activities with blue and other inanimate objects.
i like how he engages with his audience
Child only characters is not good for kids to watch because they need to see a healthy relationship between children and adults
For sure, I agree with you!
The thing that I like about Chuggington is that they base some of their engines off of real ones for an example rooster is based off the class 55 Deltic loco, which was built in British railways
44:16 🤩 a cybergoth talking vehicle show?! I'm there!

It's like Bob the Builder, but more mature because there are episodes like Truckmate, Junkyard, Emmission Impossible, etc that have words like
5tup1d, 1d10t, Fu*k, etc.
This makes me SO mad, I wanna make a Thomas reboot called Sir Topham Hatt's railway
Milo slightly resembles the ROBEL Work Crane Locomotive, and Flicker resembles the London Underground battery locomotive
Not gonna say much but it’s more bland crap, not even anything I’ll recommend to my future kids
What about the dispatcher from theodore tugboat
