Yes....the problem is it truly seems below F1, regardless of technique, it all starts sounding the same...not very musical although there are some that can still have a somewhat pleasing/musical timbre in the subcontra octave...JD, George Younce, Matt Spriggs, and then even though fry IMHO, Tim Storms and Paul David Kennamer with a heavily processed mic chain have a good sound. I look for connection and breath in the tone. If descending, no stopping and starting with no break or shift...continuous tone note to note...but it is still challenging to determine
Tim Riley, Tim Storms and Will Adkins, right? (I'm not a hater) Tim Riley's good, but below F1 he sounds way different. Edit: I also disagree that Robinson's B0 is chest.
A lot of these bass notes are questionable as to chest or not. A lot of Subharmonic. Eric Holloway, Casey Moo, Tim Storms and J.D. Sumner are probably the best at chest. Tim has notes no man will ever get thanks to his 2 times the length of normal vocal cords and the quite abnormal muscle and vocal fold activity. Matt Spriggs however impressed me the most out of bass voices I haven't heard. That sounds quite legit. Thanks for the time and effort into this compilation.

Love how the video doesn't even start at my lowest ever chest note. I guess that just goes to show how deep some people's voices can be.
Haha unless you’re one of the 40 people in the video it starts lower than your lowest chest note
@@BassManMatteo its not like almost 500k+ people can sing a D1

I would say a lot of these guys are definitely not using chest voice, but these are good notes

Yeah, it was kinda difficult determining which notes are chest and which aren’t

Super interesting video!

bro what? your still active on RUclips
Pretty sure a few were chest fry especially those D1s but a good amount were chest from actual Oktavists
Thanks for including me and funny that I don't even remember recording that....really shocked to see me in the video

Good to see my old "friend" Matt Spriggs there. I don't know where he is nowadays, he doesn't use any social media as far as I'm concerned.
He is doing well....speak to him often...

Elliott Robinson has a cool chest range
Tim Storms and chest notes?? That's gonna be a good one
His lowest is actually an A1 then below that it’s chest fried
6:40 was insane, you can hear it is his chest voice, the beast, the best
Kinda surprised J.D. Sumner's C1 in Way Down wasn't included. But great video dude
Thank you! I only included the lowest chest note of each person. Since JD’s Bb0 is lower than C1, I only included the Bb0.

How come George Younce Eb1 isn’t included?
It sounded like chest-fry to me (a lot of these notes are debatable so I may be wrong on some of these)

Haha me too, I usually only have an F#2
Wow, im blown away. Especially bei John Ames 😮
Thanks for the inclusion m8! Just glad that's the pic you used of me and not one of the cringier ones 😂😂😂😂

John Ames is very impressive! He's as low voiced as Chandrowsky. Didn't he have a D1?
He has a B0 off tape, but his record on tape is Eb1.

I thought Jordan said that his D1 for The Reign of Castamere was in subharmonics.

2) That sounds nothing like his subharmonics
