Another epic video. I personally could not stand to see Arthur get demolished every game so we buffed his movement to 3 and added the rule that his boosting ability could not get cancelled. Also, who would you say is your favorite fighter? Mine personally is Spike or Jekyll and Hyde.
I just personally prefer that they do. For example - it’s great when you are teaching someone who isn’t good at the game or is brand new - you can try your hardest with a tough character like Arthur. And I don’t find his win ratio to be bad enough to warrant changes. In a perfect world 50% win would be wonderful. But a little lower makes you feel so great when you win with them. It’s not essential to have - but I love characters like this in my asymmetric games.
@@LordoftheBoard I see what you mean. But if I could have it as close to a perfect world as possible, that's what I want. For new players I would rather just nerf a character for the first few games rather than buff a character for the rest of the games life on my shelf.

Great video man! I wish Arthur had a little more card draw, and that Excalibur was 7-8 damage. I think his boost stats are good as they are, to stop him being OP. Are you planning to do all the characters for the series? I have Bruce Lee and the JP set heading in the mail :D

@@Pasqwalle haha true. But like I said. Characters like this have their place in every Asymmetric game. - Atleast in my opinion. Hard or difficult characters to win with are so satisfying to pull a win with.

ugh. King Arthur is soo poorly balanced, it really makes me question the staying power of Restoration games. I mean there was only 4 characters for them to playtest in this boxset, and he clearly is not even remotely balanced in relation to the other 3.. let alone future boxsets. the game itself is pretty much a stat check game to begin with, so having such uneven raw power, really just makes him not viable. not trying to be hostile to the company but its the truth.. I mean was there no playtesting? how did this make it through? compare Arthur to Alice. All his boosts are basically 1 and 2s.. Where as Alice gets a free +2 damage boost to all her cards if she chooses... without the GIANT trade off of having to burn a free card. Speaking of burning cards, Arthur is not going to want to boost everything or will burn through his cards way too fast. So he needs to be selective with the boosting.... But wait, Alice can selectively boost too. But Alices boosts are exponentially better than Arthurs. Her boost s dont have to be announced before hand, so they arent comically easy to counter... AND they hit harder. I mean its one thing after another, showing what is obviously game breaking imbalance. It appears it doesnt take long for people of all skill levels to realize that Arthur is clearly not balanced correctly.... again how did a game company not catch this. At the least, King Arthurs stat card should have the second paragraph just flat out removed. "if the attack card is cancelled, the boost card is discarded without effect"... Not only would this help to make gameplay actually somewhat viable with Arthur but it would also make gameplay easier to understand. As they should never have put the word "effect" in there, because this makes people confused to whether the boost cards effect are actually supposed to go off, if the main attack card isnt cancelled. honestly the balance error is so over the top, Restoration games should sell a King Arthur stat card with the last paragraph removed for like $1 or something, or include an updated King Arthur stat card in the next battle of legends set. theyd literally be making an easy buck, while fixing their game.

I don't think every game needs to have these kind of characters. Great video as usual! Me and my group have alot more fun with our Arthur changes.

Played my first games of Unmatched with King Arthur- I knew he was underpowered to begin with.
Won a team game with him and Medusa.

And then I finally played with a different character and won right away (Sinbad). Arthur is not the best, but it is satisfying to boost Excalibur!!!

When excalibur is boosted that boost cant be canceled because excalibur doesnt have any effect to be canceled.
