Aye quick question for you since you know alot… What do I do I find myself next to a restricted isle? Do I act the same way if it was an unrestricted isle? What’s the difference between the two? Thanks! 💪🏻
Restricted isles are very sad places that try and tell you that you can’t ever go faster than a certain speed - Usually enforced by people with no fun guns 👮♀️ Unrestricted ones let you play 😆
Can’t imagine how long this will last without sanding or priming…. Faster isn’t always the best alternative. You may not have experience defects yet (which I don’t believe) but without prime they will slowly chip… trust me I’ve rushed before😉
Bc I rushed it if I'm being honest. This video was a final for a college class and your boy procrastinated heavy. So I skipped some steps out of forgetting and or not having the time (ie sanding). Plus, its a gixxer
Wanting to do this to my 750. I’m curious how the paint held up over these last 2 years? I’m nervous to do it cuz I don’t really know anything about paints or coatings. I thought you needed a air brush to do thos
Its held up great. Sorry for being a year late to reply, I'm sure this is no longer useful info for you.. My bad there. Did you ever get around to painting your 750's wheels?
Hey how long did you let the color coats dry before applying the clear coat gloss ? Currently doing mines this weekend , just started yesterday by removing everything && painting today…color im using is white…also I got the same brand you have to
Heck yeah, have fun with it! I ended up doing 3 light coats and 2 medium/wet coats making 5 total, but I did not use a primer like I should have. For white since that’s a lighter color you may want to also do 4-5 coats. Or if it’s easier- I essentially used 1 and a half cans of my yellow color per wheel and then 1 can of clear coat for both wheels together. Hope this helps! Happy painting
Thank you 😊 I used 2 cans of color and 1 can of clear to do both. You can also use primer before you paint, that may help the white Lay down easier. I skipped primer bc im impatient 😅
Yep! I have a 16 gsxr 750 about to paint the wheels for the 4th time lol. I was looking for an easier way to get it done and the way you had it on the jack stands was genius! Way easier than all the different ways I’ve tried so far
@@392hendo heck yeah, I’d love to see it when you’re done. And thank you, I can’t remember where I saw the jack stands trick but I didn’t come up with it. Someone else out there is the smart one I just copied them, respectfully haha
So far it’s lasted about a year, still goin strong. I agree sanding is typically ideal, but I did this for a school project and was on a time constraint. thats why I put in the description there are more steps you can do that I chose to skip 😄
You’re the 5th person to say I’m going to have issues because of “no prep”. They’re absolutely fine and look new still. Read the title, which instructs you to read the bio, which clearly states I skipped prep on purpose. they still look great and it’s been over a year. DM I’ll show you 😘. I’m content with the job I did. If you want to “prep” go for it, I did not and I’m happy with that
Yeah sorry mate, did the guy thing and didn’t read the instructions (bio). Didn’t mean to sound like a d!ck. glad they’re holdin up. I’m keen to do mine, what paint did you use?
No keying or primer?
At least you colour coded the wheel weight 😆😬
Color matching the wheel weights adds 10hp come on you should know this
Also wtf is keying

@@UnrestrictedIsle thank you for the clarification sir I will now stay away from restricted isles.
I never realized how much work it took to paint the wheels on a bike. I love the yellow wheels on your Gixxer. Great job you did.
Thank you!
White base coat before any hi Vis paint.
Sweet good to know! Next time I’ll do that , thanks 🙏🏻

It’s been a year and they’re still great 👍🏻 no defects, no chips.
I want that color for my wheels! I can’t exactly find a spray can that color. Where can i find that? What brand paint etc was it?
I got mine from Lowes, I think it’s the brand Krylon
Yo, why did you paint the weights?
its a gixxer

I have a Gixxer 250. Thinking to paint the wheels Golden. Shit seems harder than painting a car wheel which I've done before ngl
It’s definitely a longer process for sure haha but I’d say go for it! Gold would look sick 💯
Hello, awesome video. What brand of paint did you use?
Thank you. I used krylon spray paint I believe
@stvticsteve7249 Wow,thanks so much for taking the time and replying. I really appreciate it.i really enjoyed the video, and it's very helpful thanks.
@@SergioRamirez-hw8yv no problem, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Have fun painting your wheels! :)
How do you know how much torque should go for each bolt? I am sacred I might overtighten them or not tighten them enough.
I’m sure A forum for your specific bike should have the torque info. I’d just search it on google to be honest.
Great job,not bad at all, like the color, matches the bike 👍
Thank you!
hey bro! what stands did you use??
I don’t know if they have a name tbh. They’re just some cheap ones off Amazon. Ive been meaning to upgrade but they’ve done me well
how many cans of color did you end up needing ?
3 if I recall correctly

how's the paint holding up? have you changed tires? did the paint come off when changing tires?
Paint is holding up great! Haven’t had to change tires yet no as I ride maybe once or twice week. Will update when I do swap rubber
You could have left the rear sprocket bolted and pulled everything out in one piece
Oh word?? I appreciate you! Definitely gonna leave it attached next time then

Awesome job painting the wheels, like the color,it's neon green correct?
Thank you 🙏🏻 it’s basically neon green yeah! If I remember correctly the spray paint was like “safety yellow”
Красиво получилось 💪✌
🙏🏻
Good for a quick easy tidy up and dude u put the front wheel in the wrong way round.
Good catch! I noticed that after like 6 months of riding with it backwards 😅 was my first time removing the wheels. it’s the correct way now.
Dude, a full set of metric sockets and handle drives plus s torque wrench at Harbour Freight is less than $100 Spend the money
I did :)
No sanding or prep work? No hate but that won’t last long.

No prep, you'll be doing these again soon. Best use enamel paint to reduce chips, also realine front wheel when putting it bk on

Damn, clean your chain bro.
Yeah I prolly should huh 🤔
