It's a amazing and wonderful game and it's best when someone stumbles upon it by themselves without being suggested by another person. Not that Mother being suggested is a bad thing, it's when it is obnoxiously suggested too many times it becomes hated. Undertale made the mistake that I'm talking about. It had a community that chose to share Undertale in the annoying way. You can see people talk about Undertale and get hated for doing so, but people rarely talk about the Mother series nowadays, and that's a good thing, because it is still kept as that precious hidden gem that we all want it to stay as.

Giygas: A poor alien that looks a lot like Mewtwo who only wanted companionship, but was forced by his people to destroy humanity when a man name George stole the secrets of his races powers (PSI). Often mistakenly called by his beta US name, Giegue. In my opinion, one of Nintendo's saddest villians (in a good, you feel sorry for his life way).
This is such a good remix! It sounds amazing. The Earthbound/Mother franchise is severely underrated man. I wish more people knew about it. I'm 16 and I've known Earthbound since I was 8, and I'm obsessed with Earthbound but since nobody at my school even knows what Earthbound is, I can't go on and on about Earthbound and stuff. It sucks
I kind of wish that, after Earthbound was finished, Giygas could have come back as a Post-Game 'boss', or just had another game that hinted to him and actually lead up to him... Except this time as a ghost, who remembers everything and is borderline inconsolable. And the aim of that 'fight' is to use the original Eight Melodies not to harm him or cause him pain, but to comfort him and come to terms with his A: Failure to control himself. B: Failure to carry out his people's wishes, and most importantly C: The loss of his 'Mother'. And, comforted by the melodies his mother sang to him, he gets called by Maria's voice, and the two reunite as spectral entities, with Maria taking the alien away with her to rest in her comforting hold from then on.
I had an idea like that once. Giygas as he's dying wills himself back into existence in his original form as an infant again with his infinite power in the last second of his life, sent through time, is adopted by Ness and Paula, raised with their daughter (who is the second party member of the game with a robot built by Jeff being the third, haven't thought of a fourth yet) and then grows up into about Ness' age when the game actually starts. Giygas/insert name here of course doesn't remember anything, but he's still a walking cat creature with physic powers. Then the aliens show up, led by Giygas' "wife"/fanatical worshipper that wants to drive the reborn Giygas insane so he's turned back into the universal cosmic destroyer and destroys everything... which one ending has her succeed at doing. Turning "Insert" back into Giygas who goes and murders Ness and Paula. Horrifying ending, the future refused to change. The other being she fails and "Insert" goes into his own mind to destroy Giygas forever. Heartwarming ending, all that jazz. I just wish I had the skills to make it happen.

Porky is the true villan in the mother series if you think about it, that childish devil caused giygas to go insane and ruined a paradise, family and caused suffering to all the innocent life on the nowhere islands. Giygas was forced to destroy earth, porky WANTED to make it into his personal toybox and even destroy it if he could not do that.

Have you ever felt like Giygas? Have you ever been forced to become what you didn't want to be? I think maybe that's why his story affects us so much. We've all been the villain in somebody else's story. When all we really wanted was to be hugged, and told it will be okay. I think that's all anyone really wants; to be loved.
I always felt like that, since I was 9. I was always shy and socially awkward, and I never had any friends. When I was 9 and stuff I was social and fun, but kids at school always excluded me from whatever games they were playing. Hopscotch, Pikachu, Sticks, Tag, Hide-N'-Go Seek, etc. They always excluded me and never talked to me, so I became distant and shy and got used to being alone. Now I'm 16, and I have social anxiety AND shyness, and I'm still distant and quiet because I'm afraid people at my high school will treat me the same way I was treated at my old Elementary School and Middle School.... Nobody loves me and it hurts.

I'd rather have it be that Giygas was saved sometime after the events of Mother 2, but still in a time where Ness is more or less the same person he was in Earthbound, both physically and mentally, and by that I mean have it happen in at most five years in the future from Earthbound, and have the least amount of time that could've past be about 5 minutes.

I still vividly remember the lullaby that my parents used to put me to sleep, and it exists in my mind as a happy, teary-eyed memory. If I could lend the beauty of this song into the lives of my children in this way, I know that it's a good thing.
The way i see it, While i do agree with what Reincarnated said, i beleive that since nintendo couldnt release mother to america they remade the story and plot loosley based off of Mother 1 as Mother2/EarthBound and that giygas is basically a reincarnation of geigue in the form of a new game.

Is it weird that while most people’s favorite villain is the masked man, Giegue is my favorite? His story is so heartbreaking and sure, Spoilers!!: Claus was turned into a cyborg and everything. And that’s sad, but it’s just... so generic. Giegue has a more unique story on the other hand.

Giygas brainwashed things because it didnt know what it was doing. It either was being controlled by porky or scarred by Ninten and had to stop what looked like Ninten, Ness.
James Rolfe has a fan theory that Giygas is an eyeball being of destruction that takes many forms infinitely through the universe. Poor Giegue was a victim of such a terrible monster, in just glad that the Melodies were able to soothe his aching soul.
Itoi supports theories is why. You could argue that actually, if you can support a theory that utilizes the time paradoxes in the game. Personally, I believe Ninten fathered Ness, but this is all based on which theory you support with evidence. This is supported by Itoi, and that's the beauty of this series.

This song is great and all, but I have a strange theory. If Maria & George's only known child was Giegue... Most likely Giegue was able to do some stuff for offspring.... This must mean Ninten's father.... Is actually half alien! And Ninten is one third of an alien! It makes sense! Ninten must've inherited his powers from Giegue. Ness had his powers because it was a gift from god, and Lucas learned PSI. That must mean Ninten inherited his PSI from his half alien father! It was in his genes!
In a cutscene of Mother 2 when Ness is in Magicant it shows Ness moving an object with psychokinesis as a newborn, so Ness inherited his PSI and only just mastered how to use his PSI during his adventures
Also in the Mother 1 hand book it states Ninten discovered he had PSI from eating too many hotdogs and playing with a spoon till he bent it by accident with his mind
I'd be nice to see more earthbound characters in Smash Bros perhaps not ninten because of house similar he is to ness. Anyway the American poll candidate for SSB4 was already chosen and it's Skull Kid from Zelda, Flint, Lucas' father, made to to the semi finals I believe and he received more votes than Waluigi. Next year we need everyone keep an eye open
It's difficult to explain. Play the game to know the complete history. It's really worth it, even the japanesse commercial shows that is a masterpiece. If you're gonna play it, remember: no crying until the end.

Claus was turned into a cyborg and everything. And that’s sad, but it’s just... so generic. Giegue has a more unique story on the other hand.

I simply got Ness & Ninteen confused due to theme looking, & dressing so much alike; I can say that much without spoiling; It's nice to see so many want to set things straight even when trivial. Giygas brainwashed things because it didnt know what it was doing. It either was being controlled by porky or scarred by Ninten and had to stop what looked like Ninten, Ness.
The saddest villain (back)story ever.
James Rolfe has a fan theory that Giygas is an eyeball being of destruction that takes many forms infinitely through the universe.
Poor Giegue was a victim of such a terrible monster, in just glad that the Melodies were able to soothe his aching soul.

Itoi supports theories is why. You could argue that actually, if you can support a theory that utilizes the time paradoxes in the game.
Personally, I believe Ninten fathered Ness, but this is all based on which theory you support with evidence. This is supported by Itoi, and that's the beauty of this series.

In a cutscene of Mother 2 when Ness is in Magicant it shows Ness moving an object with psychokinesis as a newborn, so Ness inherited his PSI and only just mastered how to use his PSI during his adventures
Also in the Mother 1 hand book it states Ninten discovered he had PSI from eating too many hotdogs and playing with a spoon till he bent it by accident with his mind

I'd be nice to see more earthbound characters in Smash Bros perhaps not ninten because of house similar he is to ness. Anyway the American poll candidate for SSB4 was already chosen and it's Skull Kid from Zelda, Flint, Lucas' father, made to to the semi finals I believe and he received more votes than Waluigi. Next year we need everyone keep an eye open

It's difficult to explain. Play the game to know the complete history. It's really worth it, even the japanesse commercial shows that is a masterpiece.
