    What I see most reviewers do is pick their comparison cards based on a tiered system. For instance 980 reviews were always compared with 970, 960, and equivelant AMD cards. I have always wanted to see someone compare against older cards, like I want to see how my 780 stacks up against the modern cards, or even the 670 in my other machine. It would be nice to know if it is worth upgrading at all as opposed to just picking a new card.

      Casual Alien I agree seeing older hardware in benchmark reviews are nice, But if it helps you at all, use videocardbenchmark.net as a reference for any gpu. Seeing the average score of your 780 compared to the average score of the Titan X should give you a relative idea on performance differences. I think the most important part of reviews such as this one is to give consumers an idea on which GPU on sale today is the best price/performance for our individual needs. There are hundreds of older cards, so it is impossible to benchmark them all. But there are a handful of newer cards, so those should be the priority in reviews.

    • @AlienPball
      @AlienPball 9 лет назад

      Maximum 90 I am only talking about a generation or two back. Would be insane to expect my 590 being compared to a Titan etc.

    • @maximum9065
      @maximum9065 9 лет назад

      Casual Alien Yeah, and some still do that. It really falls down to what cards they still have laying around though, and usually, they have a lot of the current cards coming in for review so it's much easier to stick to those. I'm with you though especially on the CPU side because most people wait longer on upgrading CPU's I would think. I still use my old Q6600 in my wife's computer, and I always am curious how a 970 would do on that old CPU compared to how a 970 does on a modern CPU. I don't expect that out of reviews, but I love it when such reviews come out.

    • @Trancelistic
      @Trancelistic 9 лет назад

      Casual Alien I agree with you. I'm still running the gtx 285. ( yes i know) but it still plays all fine up to todays. I dunno if i can mention steaming on twitch with while playing in Hd but i do not see any fps lost. Maybe because of my 8 core. I'm not sure. But the gtx 285 still hold up pretty strong now a days. I think so at least. ( in 1080p games at least from 2013 a 2014) so ye.. thats surpringly well.

    Not bad card but too much power supply 250w, GTX 980 160w and the fps in BF4 only 9-12 fps more sorry but TITAN X is not good card at least for people that dont want to spend 1000$ ... and what about GTX 980 TI ???

    • @gakvin98

      This is basically the 980ti lol

    • @SniperElite999
      @SniperElite999 9 лет назад

      Its your dad Titan is a diferent serie but yes is pretty much a gtx 980ti=titan but I expect better performace and low power consumption, this card dont deserve this high price I really hope the GTX 980 can down the price now.

    • @gakvin98
      @gakvin98 9 лет назад +2

      ***** this card isn't directly designed for gaming, the 12gb frame buffer will be utilised more in programs like cuda, just wait for amd to bring their cards out or nvidia for the next generation can't get much better on the 28nm

    • @SniperElite999
      @SniperElite999 9 лет назад

      Its your dad yeah this card must be awesome for edit video :) but for gaming I think GTX 980 or 970 is much better choise quality/price.

    • @1MadBurrito
      @1MadBurrito 9 лет назад

      ***** I don't see what is wrong with high power consumption as long as it performs well and it does! But i do agree that it's overpriced along with 980, when AMD comes out with 300 series, i;m sure the prices will drop.

  • @ProtoMario
    @ProtoMario 9 лет назад +3

    I think it is very wasteful and stupid to buy a card when it first releases, right now you can get 270's and 770 ti's at around 100 dollars, sometimes high end 150.
    To me if waiting a few months would translate to a huge price cut, then hell yeah I would wait.
    There is nothing that can really max this thing yet, maybe a few games with mods to crank the V-ram, but thats about it.

  • @StonedRambo01
    @StonedRambo01 9 лет назад +4

    Bottom line.... Flagship cards should be MADE SPECIFICALLY 4k ultra settings @60fps!!! Not this sandbagging BS !!! 4k has been around long enough that these "FLAGSHIP CARDS" should be crushing it !!! That also goes with AMD as well I'm not singling out Nvidia. I'm just tired of companies holding out. I want to get back into PC gaming but tired of the BS

    • @beybladedude12345678
      @beybladedude12345678 9 лет назад +1

      60fps max 4k takes at least four $750+ GPU cards which is at least 2.5k at least so asking to have a flagship card that could do that would make it extremely big and expensive and considering this card can almost do it
      You're asking
      Too much

    • @RebelOfTheNorm242
      @RebelOfTheNorm242 9 лет назад

      Kidwoohda who lied to you?
      in case you didnt know, 2 asus OC 970 editions, in sli, will give all games ultra settings 4k 60fps with ease....thats no more than 700 dollars worth of cards....
      750×4? for 4k? no sir...

    • @TheAtqthe30th
      @TheAtqthe30th 9 лет назад

      Also man they haven't had many true 4K monitors that can do past 60 fps without some overclocking on the monitor. There probably is a monitor out that can do it but I'd wait, some monitors haven't been on the market long enough and have some noticeable issues(dead pixels,etc). I wouldn't upgrade to 4k unless it's on a screen size bigger than 40" for a home-theater build/gaming rig and I know there's no 4K display that can run 60+fps for a TV yet.

    • @StonedRambo01
      @StonedRambo01 9 лет назад +1

      Kidwoohda Asking to much??? I think you expect to little !!! They don't hit 60fps cause they know the suckers will buy 2 cards period. And that is BS !!!

      ***** they will never destroy their line... those who want performance will simply buy nvidia's cards
      and that's how it is.
      And a thing about temps and power usage
      Recently a friend of mine bought a new pc... and when he had to decide between r9 280x and 960 sc he had to go with GTX because 600W psu wasnt enought for the stupid r9 280x and you also need a prety good case for the r9 because of its insane temps (80+ °C).
      If he wanted r9 he would have to buy 750W psu or something instead of CX 600m or even 1000W for crossfire, while you are fine with 750-850 W for SLI.
      Think about it... instead of 100 you throw 200+€ just for PSU (or 180 vs 300 if going SLI)
      Their cards might cost less but you will need a freaking 1000W PSU and decent case to run that thing.... so at the end you rather buy GTX with more fancy functions, lower temps, good drivers and so on but they rape you in the ass with their prices
      If AMD could get back in the game so nvidia would have to lower their prices ...that would be great

    • @iimAlpha
      @iimAlpha 9 лет назад +1

      600w not enough for a R9 280x ? That's absolute bullshit, I have at R9 280 with a 520w psu with no issues. And the temps aren't 80+ degrees, mine stays at 29C idle and rarely goes above 65C on load. Ps my case is a corsair air 240 and It only has 2 fans in it, nothing crazy

    • @2goXD
      @2goXD 9 лет назад

      ***** Ok guys (for all of you who argued with me)
      I went ever all the forums and found out that 4 fried 600w psu's could be a total bullshit and psu recommendations for r9 280x saying you need 750w are total bullshit.
      I apologize for single card PSU shitstorm.
      If you accept my apology for making a mistake or not... in reality it doesn't matter... the one who got fucked for listening to forums was my friend and eventually me.
      I still believe in current Nvidia's supreme performance (which also doesn't matter)... at the end it makes no difference i guess.
      One time you are better of buying AMD and other time from Nvidia.
      Have fun, another sorry.

    Slight correction about vxgi: A lot of lighting is already done on the fly in the game and not pre-rendered, but vxgi will be able to render large scene's to look like something approximating real life or ray-traced environments. (ray-tracing is currently the most realistic way to render lighting but it takes massive amounts of time to render a single image and simply cannot be done in real-time.) Without vxgi we have very limited shapes to light environments up with, but with vxgi, light can look like it spreads realistically from its source through the game's geometry. That's all :)

    If anything benchmark, i was new tot he gaming world just 4x months ago and i build the following system :
    - i7 4790K stock 4.0Ghz
    - Asus Z97-A
    -16 Gb G.Skill 2400Mhz
    - Samsung Evo 250Gb SSD
    - 2x GTX 970 MSi Gaming 4G (SLI)
    Since the 3.5Gb fiasco and i could feel it in advanced warfare (Manhunt mission), i decided i would wait before selling the 2x cards and see what single or dual gpu would be worth for.
    I play at 1920x1200 mostly.
    I took all from different website like techpowerup or Guru3D.
    Now please consider this :
    Crysis 3 - Very High quality + FXAA will give on :
    1) R9 295x2 : 81 fps
    2) 970 SLI : 96 fps
    3) Titan Z : 95 fps
    4) 780Ti SLI: 81 fps
    5) 980 SLI : 109 fps
    Now i just need benchmark of the titan X for this game.

    The card is really one step ahead of what we got today but really...i get disappointed to realise that software is WAY ahead of hardware. Games being capped because a $999 graphics card cant run 4k games at a steady 60fps.
    We see insanely beautiful tech demos everywhere, but they can't be applied to current games just because the GPUs can't keep up.
    Come on, we are even seeing 8k TVs being released and we cant even play 4k at 60fps without spending outrageous amounts of money on a sli/crossfire system.
    Anyway, sorry if it seems like im trash talking or trolling. Its just that every new "big" GPU announcement gets me hyped, just to see that it is, in action, just a few fps above what we already got.
    Thanks for keeping us informed on the new techs. Thumbs up for the video!

      Tech of Tomorrow I heard that PCI-E 2.0 will limit the bandwidth of the Titan X. Heard anything about that? Although nobody will be crazy enough to use this beast on a pci-e 2.0 motherboard, what are your thoughts? Did the card reach the limit of bandwidth that the pci-e offers?...

    A lot of reviewers are saying that the AIB vendors are going to offer their own versions... but they aren't. Nvidia will not allow non-reference cooled versions to be sold complete. The most the vendors can do is include their own cooler in the box for you to attach yourself.
    Oh and BTW your videos looking fookin awesome at 60FPS man.

    Will go with GTX Titan X in sli, then I can play at 4k with no struggle. One card can do it aslo but I want some extra power becasue some games are to heavy to drive with one single gpu. Now I just need to wait on asus to release ROG Swift PG27AQ, (4k,60hz,27",IPS with g-sync) The dream is real!

      Erik Andersson I would start a business or something with that money. That would be a much better investment, especially if you've worked hard for it during two years. Dunno, use something like 10K to start something and set the remaining 2K to buy a mid- to high-end PC. Just my two cents.

    The Pascal 1000 Series cards that are coming are going to be really good. Because the 900 series cards we have today are actually the 800's renamed to 900. We are skipping a generation going from 800 to 1000

    I love how people bring up the 295x2 for a comparison when its's a dual GPU card and this is a single.

    • @georgeharding4180

      Probally just because they're in a similar price range (i havent checked though).

    • @iJoxhh

      But the R9 295x2 is so much cheaper and so much faster

    • @georgeharding4180
      @georgeharding4180 9 лет назад

      George Harding Just checked newegg the r9 295x2 is $689.99 (not counting the $30 rebate, as they're a nightmare waiting to happen). Comparisons tend to be made on price rather than how many gpu cores a card has anyway.

    • @bluefoxtv1566
      @bluefoxtv1566 9 лет назад

      George Harding The Titan X and the 295x2 are around the same price.
      But bang for the buck will be dependent on what game you are playing as some titles don't play nice with dual GPU set ups.

    • @therodeowhale
      @therodeowhale 9 лет назад +1

      BlueFoxTV How can you say they're about the same price when you can get a brand new 295x2 for $689.99? A difference of $310 isn't "around the same price". All of the Titan series cards are among the worst "bang for the buck" graphics cards because of their insane price tags. Of course there's more than just gaming to them, but this is from a gaming perspective.

    2x 980 sli =15671 --2x Power comsuption (in reference of 1x 980)
    vs
    1x Titan X =14107 1.5x Power Comsuption (in reference of 1x 980)

    Hopefully someone can help me with this question. Okay I am a noob with computer hardware and I am getting a new gaming pc I would like to know if it would be best to get either: 1 Amd Radeon 8GB R9 259X2 or 2/3 Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan X. This is based just on running games on the highest settings and their FPS. Please answer if you think you know what would be best for me thanks.
