    Hey! I am having the same problem that you had with the bracket not lining up, i might resort to cutting it off. The concern I'm having is I took my coils off another GTI, so I know they CAN fit, I just can't get it all the seated for the life of me.

      Combination of axle and lower ball joint. Mostly lower ball joint.

    How long did they last you ? I have a set on my gti but I'm getting noise from the front passenger. Like metal to metal.

      Daniel Irizarry still working fine. I've only had them for a few months though. Check your axel it could be rubbing on your sway bar. Depending in what year you have.

      I also have adjustable swaybar links. I know for sure I'm not rubbing on axle anymore. Do you use the original spacer from stock struts ?

      you mean that rubber stopper that goes at the top of the strut? If so yes. should I change that?

      did you ever figure out what that noise was?

    Hey i'm having the problem as you because my coilover keeps bottoming out b4 i can put in the bolt. But if i cut of the piece like you did, what would the bolt connect to with the coilover is going down into the space?

      Area51 the bolt that goes through doesn’t actually connect to the coilover. It grabs it or clamps it tight. That piece is to line it up but you don’t need it. Just make sure your coilover is all the way down and that it is even with the other side. I didn’t cut mine off completely. I think I left a little piece to help me line it up. I just cut off enough to give me more clearance. Let me know if you have more questions.

      @@SanDiego_VDubLife that is wrong you shouldn't have cut that piece

    • @SanDiego_VDubLife
      @SanDiego_VDubLife  3 года назад

      @@adnansgarage I think that was the only way to get it to fit. I don’t think I cut off the whole thing just part of it. But it was so long ago

    I want to install coils on my car, I want to lower it 2 inches, when do I have to do that after installing or before installing the coils?

    • @SanDiego_VDubLife
      @SanDiego_VDubLife  7 лет назад +1

      You can do it before or after. but in reality you have to install them first to see where your car sits, then measure two inches down from where ever the coil is adjusted to. Two inches is a lot so know that your axle will probably rub on the sway bar.
