I'm still sad that they are scrapping these buses. If I ever go back to Singapore (I'm from Canada BTW) for a visit, sure I would get to ride the new buses I never had a chance to ride on before I left, but it just won't be the same without the older ones as well :(
Just come to SG immediately before O405G Mk I are going to be rare and will be gone.
TehEvadingSpartan I might try to, like maybe next summer vacation (Summer here begins in June). My family is still saving money though.
The BEST way to ride the old SMRT bus by riding service 67.The other one is riding the charted bus to Giant, IKEA And Courts
InfernusGuy TeamLoti Yeah, I could catch the 67 at the Tampines bus interchange if I'm still in SG. I also remember taking those free shuttles near the Tampines train station to Giant, Ikea, and Courts Megastore.
FastCarsNoRules220 You can see a lot of Hispano Habitats and MAYBE a O405G Bendy. MAYBE. Service 184. At Pending stn.
This funny to watch! Go trains busses suck
agreed scrap all em busses
Oh yeah what If I say busses go trains suck to your face huh??! Sure you will get pissed off right?!
I have the NZG 1/50 scale model. Great bus. This should never happen. Send all retired buses to India or Indonesia.
0:43 the scrap machine ripped off the paintwork like ripping off a sticker
Satisfying
- Infinte
Wow actually satisfying
Its satisfying tho
Ye
Not for me
It's sad seeing them destroy such a bus... It's a good thing it will get a new life once it gets recycled and turned into a new bus. But one question, don't they have like a car crusher machine, but like a bigger one? If they plan to scrap buses, they should use those machines instead of the crane.
I think this method is cheaper though.. Not to sure abt that
FastCarsNoRules220
FastCarsNoRules220 did you saw something spraying out from the bus at 11:16
Nah, I'm pretty sure that was air condition fluid or something. If it was gas, there could have been a high chance of an explosion. Besides, I think they should have emptied the gas tank before scrapping.
FastCarsNoRules220 I don't think they make new buses out of a pile of scrap, they just leave it there.
The middle of the bus was toughest. Must have been driven in if the air tanks still have pressure
11:16 Ay yo GAS!!!
Hi it's quite sad to see this buses scrap!
I feel sad some times when old buses are scraped but it is a very good video of seeing how they scrap the buses into bits of pieces.
15:11 satisfiying see him fail miserably trying to break the articulator a few times
Bus fights back 😮
Tough
What a stupid operator
Lol
@glitchFan2428 Yep. In that fight, I'm for the bus.
I hate LTA in this point: can't they at least keep 1 of each model to remember and display it? I pity those buses
Now we can at best hope they preserve one hispano habit since they are tbe only o405gs left
They preserved the front of the habit
@⛄sutrblx⛄ nope they preserved the entire bus at woodlands bus park, the one you were talking about is a mockup
7:11 Who could imagine seeing broken glass?
So many glass bits on the floor
They could sell it to Indonesia, we extremely need such city buses even though they're old...
Los Bay Petros TV Hopefully your prayers would be answered over the next 6 years - all of the O405Gs will be retired by 2021; hopefully they would be sold rather than scrapped.
Agreed, selling to you guys helps indonesia and help preserving the buses too
Los Bay Petros TV but indonesia is too selfish when ever singapore ask them want help they always trying to be strong
eric leong Dont drag in politics,if thats the case then china shouldnt assemble and sell those ENVIRO500 to SMRT,since lee hsien loong recently just angered the chinese
Los Bay Petros TV iv ko
My friends are gonna weep so badly at this one
Feel Hurt old bus going to distroy... :,(
Yano this is painful to watch
Cant they just put it into a muesuem or smthing
I cry like 59 mins if i saw this
If i was in that crane I would destroy lta instead of that bus
i all in
as usual they don't give a fack about the peoples memories
me three
Same
Yep
It should rather scrap the O 530 Citaro instead the O 405
now everyone confirm hate LTA
I do hate LTA
I am so sad that all of this good busses destroyed 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
it'sirfan It had to be destroyed, to be recycled.
it'sirfan If you see 17:33 you can see the engine coverer being cut open.
Joshua Sang but why recycle good busses?
if too old to operate then why b10ble already 21 years still look ok leh?
@@notused6779 wasnt it introduced in 1997
If they used a digger that was made by Caterpillar Inc. to scrap the bus, that would be cannibalism - we'd have a caterpillar eating a caterpillar!
Peter Downey what caterpillar is being eaten? The bendy bus?
@@allyg7940 Yes. They're sometimes called _caterpillar buses._
Hahaha
LOL yea..
Why they distroy the old bus 😥 i always like to ride on it but they distroy it wtf man
They destroy it because
• Old buses are expensive to maintain
• The bus owner makes more money by selling the scrap metal from the bus than selling it intact
They make money like that:
Keep older buses and do not buy new ones
Then sell the old bus to Estonia
Sell it to city bus company
(We rly need these buses..)
the bus is still in good condition and can be sold to some 3rd world countries. =(
What a silly comment. Third world countries can't maintain stuff like this. If they can and it was economical they would buy them. Fact remains it is junk. If you think it is worth more, then buy it yourself.
@@PreservationEnthusiast i wonder how it feels if the bus was u?
@@Skibidibab Buses don't have feelings. They are inanimate objects. So your transfer of feelings point is invalid.
What is valid is that developing countries cannot maintain worn out modern technology buses which are going to need lots of expensive foreign parts.
@@PreservationEnthusiast worn out? These buses were build to last! So instead of scrapping them for scrap they could be kept Locally or other people from other countries can buy and keep the Bus!
@@Skibidibab They were not built to last. They were built with a 10-12 year lifespan in mind. Do you know about modern bus fleet operation, or are you just making random statements?
Ridiculous waste of premium grade resources as far as i'm concerned ! As if they cannot find some lousier vehicle to scrap ?!?!!
Because apart from the original integral Mercedes-Benz bodywork i.e. the 'real complete' Mercedes-Benz omnibuses made in Mannheim, Germany, these Spanish made Hispano-Carrocera bus bodywork are the next best thing to the originals !
The black turn-table half-moon soft grip handle over the articulation joint (this part is original Mercedes-Benz stuff) is a 'class act' in design terms in that it looked great in style while serving a practical function so people can hold firmly when walking/standing around the turn-table area. Other articulated citybuses from Volvo, MAN etc. not up to the same 'standard' their turn-table design ?!
Even the much newer Gemiliang bus bodywork of more recent times used here on the MAN, Scania or Mercedes-Benz OC500LE bus-chassi, those tend to be of overall inferior quality in terms of the design, solidness of construction, fit & finishing standards to these Hispanos built in late 90's era !
Squeaking, cracking & ratting noises from the bodywork itself does NOT tend to exist 'natively' from the Hispanos i can recall even after many years of service because they are so much more well built than all the others mentioned above except for the Mercedes-Benz originals of course. The Alexander, Duple-Metsec, Gemiliang bodywork all tend to emit cracking & squeaking noises from day 1 brand-new state but not the case from the 'better' bodywork like the Hispano or the Mercedes-Benz originals i recall over the years.
If this is just some Walter-Alexander or Duple-Metsec or some Malaysian or Singaporean Soon Chow or other similar grade of relative inferior junk bodywork, then i'm all for getting rid of it...but these Hispano Carroceras certainly deserve better than being prematurely demolished !
If they can have buses with far lousier bodywork exported to Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia or New Zealand etc. for a '2nd life', then these Hispanos i can imagine can have a 'next life' too serving some communities in say Africa or other 3rd world area just as there exist good old Mercedes-Benz taxis even 30+ years old there still being used daily in current times there !
The buses can be on the road for 5-10 years only
sad I couldve made that a tiny home
Yup
no wonder there’s no more these kind of bendy buses in early 2020s
there are. mercedes citaro is available as a bendy bus too. all bus makers offer bendy variants too.
@@verliebt3465 I am pretty sure he's talking about singapore. Since when got citaro G (citaro bendy) in singapore? And plus not all buses have bendy variants here in singapore.
@@birdwithoutwings6858 mercedes does sell a bendy variant of citaro, i guess it's the municipality's fault they don't use them nowadays. I thought the op meant in general.
@@verliebt3465 but we are talking about singapore buses. There were never citaro Gs being sold to singapore
Actually there are about 30 to 40 bendy buses you can see in Singapore but the manufacturer is MAN from Germany. Most of these MAN bendy buses can be seen at both Yishun & Woodlands Intergrated Transport Hub interchange. A few of these buses are in bus service 858 which operates between the new Woodlands bus interchange and Changi Airport. As bendy buses take up space because of its long body, double-deck buses are purchased by LTA instead.
I feel bad that bus is well made
This is terrible!.....
Rip I will miss the times you drove me back to my home
3:37 if you carefully watch, you would be able to see an SBST remnant
What?!
Why are they scrapping this bus?
It's too old for the sg authorities
5:05 did anyone noticed the tibs orange color?
Actually for some buses you can peel away the sticker to expose the trans island livery below
RIP Mercedes Bus
All the bendy buses have gone
There are still some left
Old Kopaja and Metromini buses in Jakarta should be scrapped LIKE THIS
Dayan Arung no
boo
Actually to me I really hate the idea of scrapping, just use the bus till it breaks down and doesn’t start
My deepest condolences to TIB 858 A
You mean 858 H?
which scrapyard is this glitchFan2428 ?
Kiat lee
RIPping this bus is good
Holiday Fun yaloh.
i would like to see more video of it don't mind share more of it.
This is all the videos I have captured, if you wish to see more scrapyard videos, I have more on my channel :)
Why don’t they give it to other countries instead of destroying it and wasting it?
For some reason when they pulled the tape of the bus it was so satifiying
I don't like when they ripped something off and an air line started hissing. If the operator had hit an air tank that might have caused explosive depressurization and potentially injured someone.
Welp, time to say goodbye to my childhood bus
singapore alway love to scarp car and bus .. most of the sport car and bike will be scarp every 10year .. A normal car cost over 100,000 ++ imagine how much is the sport car cost and they force those people to scarp their hard earn money car in singapore..singapore salary is not very good imagine they scarp amost your few year salary alway ...
I like buses how dare u but Goodbye TIB858A rest in peace
@Johnston Steiner i dare you i scrap you

Last Stop
This is the 1st type of the Mercedes-Benz bendy bus that Trans-Island Bus Services( now SMRT BUSES LTD) purchased and the bus is brought into Singapore by sea in a huge vessel which carries cars, trucks, buses and heavy machinery etc.. The 2nd type is another design of the bus which is known as the Smiling Bus with a plate number TIB 973A as the first launching plate number of the bus. As for the 3rd type, it is a design by Pininfarina with TIB 1019Z as the 1st plate number at the launching of the bus. Now all these buses are either scrapped or being sent overseas for use in other countries. In this video, the bus is scrapped at Kiat Lee Machinery Services as authorized by LTA. The machinery used is an excavator fitted with an industrial clamping tool.
They should keep at least 1 unit of the Hispano Habit Pininfarina type in some transport museum in Singapore, bring it out for yearly joyrides (sell tickets to cover costs etc.) for the transport community here. The design is timeless..even after 20 years the styling, headlamps still look modern & the bodywork quality is superior to most others even newer buses !
I recall at the time when i attended the launch ceremony around June 2000 @ TIBS Woodlands depot it was mentioned this was the world's 1st Habit bodywork on articulated Mercedes-Benz O 405G chassis...indeed time files..even now in 2022 year it still appears to me as if it's like 'not very long ago' when i attended that 1st ride around the housing estate following the ceremony that morning with the Hispano chairman on board & he asked me what i think of the bus..to which i said it's good, of course. Thing is, with the Hispano build quality 'standard', even after 20 years later i would still say it's good ! Can't say the same with many of the other bodybuilders however !
This is at KIAT LEE MACHINERY PTE LTD in Singapore
They can also repair it and sent to India
actually one can see that the metal use is quite weak. The only reason why hispano bodywork is strong should be due to the good wielding of the parts together
goodbye bus you will be in my heart:(
why i dont smrt fixed the bus why scrapping it
ZachSierra Thank you But I should think it Preserved It So Wasted 😢😢😢 So mmmm Chwck Out My Videos And Subscribe ok
ZachSierra Ty
Why don't they sell it on, that way they would make money
It is junk... they make more money selling as scrap metal. If they could sell it complete for more cash, they would. Nobody wants to maintain this obsolete shit. If you think it is worth more than scrap, then why don't you buy them?
SteamLocoScrapper Why you gotta be that rude?
Irishbanana I come across my local countrymen with this attitude Everyday. Imagine that
@@PreservationEnthusiast u are a disgrace to the word preservation! U should change ur name to scrap enthusiast i wonder how it is like if ur the bus getting sold of for scrap metal and called “junk” obviously u would cry for help won’t u?!
@@Skibidibab Once again buses do not have feelings. So your point is irrelevant.
That bus was useful and now it's gone.😭
Yea*hits lta into head*
why would smrt do that??
OMG My first youtube comment
+No Username cause SMRT sucks, their buses were built to last longer...but their maintence cause them to break
Cause did you know buses are 17 years lifespan
Can't SMRT & SBS Transit sell those buses to neighboring countries? I am sure they would be good enough for poorer cities in Indonesia, Thailand ...
they did sell some buses to Australia
+PolosLatinos And some to Thailand
What?
They sold the bendy buses to New Zealand.
PolosLatinos but they must be destroyed to not cause any accidents in future
The bus is old that's why he broke it down but have new one
i am dreaming about oc500le as bendies

So sad
There is a trans-island colour (orange) of 5:06 of the video
R.I.P old busus
There are breaking all buses
Lta should have a bus museum (I mean with the old busses in regular size) its a part of our history... :C
Lta doesn't understand the words "preservation" and "history".
So thats why old busses got sent to here... :c
Wow how f***** stupid LTA is
There is another reason for this, there are no space for a bus museum due to space contrants as most open spots are becoming HDB flats so we have no choice but accept defeat.
can't we just expand Singapore or just destroy the hdbs to make way for bus museums?
i dont know why but this is satisfying
