Ryan I've been advocating for Bellinger because he's athletic. Athleticism was the difference between Dodgers and Yankees in the world series. Guys who beat out infield hits, steals bases, goes 1st to 3rd 1st to home 2nd to home on a hard hit single & runs down balls in the gap with men on base. Athleticism seperates the great teams from the good teams.
I'd be fine sticking with Tyrone Taylor at CF - he and Bellinger played the same number of games this season (130) and had pretty much the same WAR (2.0 for Taylor, 2.2 for Belli). Belli might be a small upgrade over Taylor, but not enough to trade for.
@@johncummings5350 If the Mets let Pete leave, I'm assuming it's because they signed Soto, in which case I don't think they need Bellinger - an outfield of Soto, Nimmo and Taylor is more than fine.
@@LockedOnMetsCarlos Correa was an enticing talent but that ship has sailed. It's not just the contract but moreso an oft injured player destablizes a roster. There's no need when we have an abundance of internal options.
I think Mauricio should be playing first base. Just because the Mets have a lot of money doesn’t mean they have to spend it. This move gets his bat in a place to where he can put a big numbers and he’s cheap. I would trade Betty and unfortunately squirrel to someone and have Acuna play second. The money saved could help get two incredibly strong pitchers free agency..
Jordan Montgomery, oh my God dude what are you talking about? What is what are you talking about? I don’t understand you today. I’m laughing my head off. You sound insane and I love your content.
They absolutely have to sign five good starters and they will go to the World Series even without Soto. I think they should sign4pitchers (hopefully Burnes/snell,manea,severino) and then since pitching is always such a high commodity, they can take singer and trade him for a really great that because the price for pitching is so high luckily Steve Cohen can afford to pay that price so we should sign for pictures and train finger for a center/outfielder or dh. that’s how they use the system against itself by having good pictures on their contract that you can straight away because pitch is always desirable
Not to mention that next year or the next few years, the Mets will have four good pictures signed so they can use them to trade and get even better players down the road if they do it like they did with Verlander and Scherzer should be able to get talent from a team that is desperate for pitching, especially if the mets can eat the salary
How about our kids coming up? If the Mets sign Soto, they need a CF that can cover a lot of ground, defensively. Wouldn't it be more prudent to have Tyrone Taylor share time with Drew Gilbert giving Gilbert the majority of playing time and effectively making Taylor the fourth outfielder?
NO. You can't be a great team with a lineup loaded with high-strikeout bats. Alvarez and Vientos already profile as high strikeout bats. With three high strikeout bats, you will have problems scoring runs on a regular basis.
Please clarify. Doesn't Bellinger have a player option for 2026 for 25Mil? If he has a mediocre year, wouldn't he exercise that option and we have to pay him the 25mil in 2026 when our young guys are ready?
He was never a true CF’er. He is serviceable there but as he passes 30 he’s gonna slow down and his range defensively will decrease. He’s better off in LF.
Carson Benge, Ryan, Clifford what are you talking about man? Like why are we trying to add more money in and trade guys just bring those two up. Let Pete go start Ryan Clifford at first and bring Carson venge up to centerfield. Take a chance that’s what San Diego did and look at Chicago is doing with our guy..
Clifford is not ready. Maybe Gilbert or Williams could be ready in CF this season. Clifford might be ready late this year. He was okay in AA last season.
I’d absolutely make a move for Montgomery so long as there is no real prospect cost. I’d even take the whole salary. High degree of confidence he’ll pitch much better next year.
He’s a lot like Sevy last offseason. Obviously coming off a very poor season but there’s a lot of confidence that he’ll revert to his previous form (or something close enough).
Jordan Montgomery, oh my God dude what are you talking about? What is what are you talking about? I don’t understand you. I’m laughing my head off. You sound insane and I love your content.
You should have stopped right there after you said: If he only winds up being a .750 OPS guy with 20 home runs and 10 stolen bases, is that a 27 and a half million dollar player, NO BUT...
It’s a really simple off season. Go out and sign Soto and then give up your prospects for Vlad Jr. he wants out of Toronto. Those two guys are 26 and 25 and you will be set for years
Dude, all due respect. I I love you show your content, but you just made a comment that supports what I think is we don’t need to go outside and get another centerfielder. I believe have enough talent to bring up just like San Diego. Just start bringing up the kids man. With the right mixture of players like Soto and other stars, they could thrive in that environment. I think take a chance and bring them up now. Save the money and don’t trade the farm.
These are literally the worst ideas you’ve ever had. You usually don’t have bad ideas. I’m surprised by these thoughts. Jordan Montgomery? Did a bumble bee sting you ? Are you allergic to Bee stings? NO NO NO NO NO ! Free agent for 14 million, yes But trade for him? No, Maybe we could trade like a beehive, a bag of rubber bands, some crazy glue for him
The Mets need to trade for Crochet and Robert. Then go all in for Guerrero. Especially if they don’t get Soto. He will stay with the Yankees anyway. Mets need to get Guerrero Cochet Robert. Then sign Burnes and Adames. That will help the Met fans get over the Soto thing. Also trade for reliever Williams from brewers. Forget Correa. He is done.
So empty the farm? lol. Mets have a great chance of signing Soto and even if they don’t theirs no reason to empty the farm. Cohen is willing to spend money. We can get players for cash we don’t need to give up prospects much less our whole farm which you want to trade.
Carson Benge, Ryan, Clifford what are you talking about man? Like why are we trying to add more money and trade our guys? just bring those two up. Let Pete go start Ryan Clifford at first and bring Carson Benge up to centerfield. Take a chance, that’s what San Diego did and look at Chicago is doing with our guy..
Trade Jeff McNeil, let Pete go. Sign Soto, Carson centerfield., Baty or Mauricio to third base, Vientos at first, Jett Williams at Second and use Acuna as trade bait
Brandon Nimmo is a better center fielder defensively. He only moved to left for Bader. Bellinger will be hitting deep pop-ups in Citi Field. Bellinger can play different positions at close to league average. You have to give up someone even if you take on the contract & the $ can be spent MUCH better like your homegrown 1B. No, no, no, no Correa. Just NO! He was hurt & terrible last year. Hurt this year. I don't want that contract! He hasn't been healthy or productive for almost 30 mil. Put that $ towards Pete. No thanks. I wanted him at a reasonable contract last year. Now. He looked like hot garbage last year & kicked out of the bullpen. Whatever $ could be used towards Burnes or Snell & Buhler. I'm more interested in a half a year of Bieber. I don't want any of these. Montgomery is sadly the most palatable. I don't want those contracts & players & I don't want to give up any talent even someone who hasn't made low A in the compounds, imho.
These are literally the worst ideas you’ve ever had. You usually don’t have bad ideas. I’m surprised by these thoughts. Jordan Montgomery? Did a bumble bee sting you ? Are you allergic to Bee stings? If he was healthy, last year 86 next year 76 the following year 56 or his ankle finally blows up Dude I don’t know what kind of things you’re saying I never seen you or heard you say things like this.
These are literally the worst ideas you’ve ever had and you don’t have bad for the most part. Jordan Montgomery? Did a bumble bee sting you ? Are you allergic to Bee stings?
So you are hoping the Mets get a third baseman that you hope doesn’t play enough games to vest all the money and there’s a part-time player? Why don’t he just bring inbring in a MASH with him?

Depends on whether Pete is back....Bellinger makes sense if Pete leaves. Nobody is signing him long-term unless he has a complete turnaround season.

Taking on Carlos Correa with his injury history & that contract is unthinkably gross malpractice. It's exactly what not to do.
Yeah, I could see Stearns not too eager about striking that kind of deal. At the right price? Maybe.
@@LockedOnMetsCarlos Correa was an enticing talent but that ship has sailed. It's not just the contract but moreso an oft injured player destablizes a roster. There's no need when we have an abundance of internal options.
Burnes Crochet Senga Manea Peterson Mcgil. That’s the rotation.
What is up with these negative comments??
These are all hypothetical moves
Never too early to get your Meth on

Bader, we need a good defensive CF at Citifield.
The Mets do not need to trade . Either have faith and trust in your farm system or move on.
They had no bullpen at the end . Can't only rely on what you have. Sometimes what you need isn't always available via free agency
@jaystjohn284 there's enough free agents
Jordan Montgomery, oh my God dude what are you talking about? What is what are you talking about? I don’t understand you today. I’m laughing my head off. You sound insane and I love your content.
Video game of Soto and Correa sounds pretty nice....
Spend your money on Sotto and pitching. Bring up the kids that’s what San Diego did.
Agree with this plan more or less. I wouldn’t mind bringing Alonso back at a sane contract.
They absolutely have to sign five good starters and they will go to the World Series even without Soto. Take a chance on Luis Robert
He can never stay on the field and he strikes out a ton.
Gilbert still has not proven himself as a good hitter.
Yes, take a chance on Luis Robert

Burnes Manea Pavetta Peterson Senga Mcgil. That’s the rotation. get Pavetta if available
If Minnesota will take Marte, it's a great Beal.
Especially if Soto comes here. Marte would be very expendable at that point.
Hmmmm. I thought we had a center fielder by the name of Nemo? Nymmo? What happened to that guy?
He was never a true CF’er. He is serviceable there but as he passes 30 he’s gonna slow down and his range defensively will decrease. He’s better off in LF.

Fun..silly outside the box ideas. Have to fill time when nothing is happening.

Hard no on Correa
Trades aren't the way to find value. Unless you trade players that are below your top 50.
trade for butler
Pass on belinger and the cubs never put him on the market. I rather have Cedric Mullins and it won’t cost as much.
Cody Bellinger? Thank you Ryan is not the Mets GM 😂😂😂
No way Montgomery. No chance at all
