When I see some of your videos on older sets, I truly feel that my parents loved me since they gave me all those Lego presents all the time when I was a kid... Now my nephew has all of my Lego boxes; wish he would take one of the old build manuals and build one of the old sets... Jang, please continue on the old sets; makes me remember my childhood. ;-)
This was the first set my parents ever got me for Christmas when I was 4 years old!! Oh the nostalgia :) I can remember waking up & seeing it under the tree & being really excited just to play with it!!
Simple is sometimes better in Lego. Very cool set indeed! Doesn't look outdated. You could just think of those F1 cars as go carts in modern Lego City scale.
Wow, thank you for this video! I remember buying this video from Kmart as a kid for $25 that I earned cleaning up the house and just generally behaving myself. A lot of memories from 25yrs ago flooding back.
Oh. My. God. I didn't realize until I watched the review of this: I HAD THAT SET! When I was a kid I'd go to my dad's on weekends and by god, I remember it now! I even have some of the pieces left. I don't recall what happened that I got some of the pieces but the rest got left behind, but wow was this review far more significant to me than just being another one of Jang's stellar reviews!
Wow, nostalgia! I wanted this set when I was a kid. Didn't get it for my birthday or christmas. So I took a toys magazine with this set in a large picture and build it with my own lego.
Hmm...its funny cause sets back then seemed to have a bunch more detail put into them...more print/less stickers, more accessories... you can really see that Lego put the 'love' into a lot of their old sets... (dont get me wrong...i really like a lot of the new sets) but you can really see the difference!
So cool to see this set put together! I grew up playing with all these parts and baseplate but hadn't seen them assembled before (my brother had gotten the set and taken it apart before I was even old enough to play with Lego).
Oh wow can't believe you got hold of this set, I actually had this as a child, sadly all that's left the is the base plate. This was one of my favourite sets growing up great to see it again thank you :-)
Brought back fond memories of my 6395 Victory Lap Raceway; that's worth a review if you ever get your hands on it. Man I miss those jacks, and the small hinged lego pieces generally!
They did a larger but very similar set the following year that I have that this reminded me of instantly so it's nice to see a sort of earlier version of that
Lego has released a set named "Formula 1 racer" (6604) few years earlier and the car was numbered as "1". Maybe they had that one in mind, if they designed this one. "Formula 1 racer" was, though, designed quite differently, than these cars here, but again - back then, real formula 1 cars differed one another much more too.
I just noticed something. I naturally saw all the figures as male figures. But when you think about it, they don't have anything on them that is specificly male. They have very neutral faces and uniforms. Do we really need eyelashes and make up to make a character female? I suppose the same question could be applied to the real world too... Anyway, the set itself is just lovely. I loved cars when i was younger and always wanted a set like this one (which i got eventually, but it is a newer version with two F1 cars and a carrier truck).
jangbricks, please build a iss (international space station) moc and i like this set looks nice the cars look like go carts Edit: the slanted roof looks very nice and keep up the great work jang
For some reason, racecar drivers only look good with the modern racecar helmet pieces, and classic spacemen only look good with their classic space helmets. These racers look funny to me with the classic space helmets, and the rerelease "classic" spacemen that lego sometimes does look awkward with the modern racing helmets.
I like the simplicity. I think it boosts imagination and creativity
Wow, this set does bring back memories! Nice one JANG.
Oh, this brings back memories! Thank you Jang.
Great review! I own this set since 1987 (I was 7 YO)!! I've rebuilt it 3-4 years ago! I REALLY like your vintage set review!!
Oh my... nostalgia.
This was my first Lego set of my life, my daddy gave it to me in the far.. far 1987
Great review! The classic lego are the best. It is simple, but you don't have to worry abaout spoiling set.

My first ever Lego set which I had when I was 6 years old way back in 1991, brings back some glorious memories :D
This was the first set my parents ever got me for Christmas when I was 4 years old!! Oh the nostalgia :) I can remember waking up & seeing it under the tree & being really excited just to play with it!!
Why don't we have those carjack pieces in any of our modern sets? That piece is fantastic!
This set reminds me of the speed champions set 75912 but this is so much nicer.
This is a good set and a good review! :)
Simple is sometimes better in Lego. Very cool set indeed! Doesn't look outdated. You could just think of those F1 cars as go carts in modern Lego City scale.
Yeah, nice idea just pull the spoilers of the back...
the baseplate and jack are the jewel of that kit, it allows to make a cool race track when you have the matching road plates.

I agree. And I have this set. I bought it for my son a long time ago.
How much is it worth
I think they did #2 and #3 so that siblings wouldn't fight over who got to use number 1 :P
#1 was a separate set, 6604. But I like the way you think!
As a matter of fact, the #1 was replaced by 6503 in 1988, that one had Shell sponsoring.
Ah Jang this is the one, my first Lego set ever!! Awesome! Memories
So cool to see this set put together! I grew up playing with all these parts and baseplate but hadn't seen them assembled before (my brother had gotten the set and taken it apart before I was even old enough to play with Lego).

I had this set, thank you, really wonderful memories!

Wow.. Lego Has a lot of interesting play sets from the past.
Reminds me of going to Malibu Grand Prix as a kid! Awesome set.
I have this set.. not built. Brings back fond memories.
A separate Shell-themed race car with the #1 printed slope was released a year after. Its catalog number was 6503. I had that set.
had this as a child. brings back memories...
was it a cool set
I had this set as a kid. Still have the base plate. My boys play with it now.
They did a larger but very similar set the following year that I have that this reminded me of instantly so it's nice to see a sort of earlier version of that
i love that set so bad
I would love to get this set, it has a lot of playability as well. Johnny Thunder loves!!!!
This is such a cool set
Honestly, I like this scale for racecars more than the new stuff. The new stuff is just WAY too big. Sometimes simpler is better.
The base plate is really cool
I remember getting this when I was young. I think I still have all the pieces somewhere. I never lose a set if I can help it.
Cool set!
No way!, this is the exact set I used to have as a kid!
Wow I owned this set, but your set are just like brand new!
love it!!!
I think I had car nr 1 as a standalone set (car only) when I was a child, it looked the same, but looked as an awsome racecar for me :)

Are there road plates compatibles with that baseplate? It would be cool if you could a recetrack
Base plate sizes are basically the same, as well as road width
Hi jangbricks :)
I actually have that set. I'm just missing car n 3.
Cool review! Nice set! Where did you get it from?
I had this exact set
i like motor speedways i wach it on tv i never new that .that was arond in the old days
Wow I have this set...in a box somewhere...
If you liked this set, you'll have to love 6395! And I'd love to see and hear what you think about that set... ;)

Thats a good point, the male and female thing.
Good old days....
Do daily videos it will help your channel
I love your videos very, very, very much. I am from Russia, sorry for mistakes
i still thought they looked like go cars even as a kid XD
1980s something raceman :D
I COULD USE THOSE CARS AS GO CARTS IN MY LEGO GO CART TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jang, where do you get your merchandise specifically halo mega bloks.
jangbricks, please build a iss (international space station) moc and i like this set looks nice the cars look like go carts
Edit: the slanted roof looks very nice and keep up the great work jang
i have this set and the other one like it with2 other cars
Not to be rude but that guy in the tower is an announcer not a race control guy.
A really nice set, but right side feels quite empty.
Hey Jang, what's your FAVORITE lego theme? Please respond.
I think i had the parts for one of those cars.
Hi
