I'm a Devo fan since the beginning and this is fantastic. Unfortunately I can't afford this now and I'm sure it will only get more expensive as time goes on. I wish all of you that buy this much enjoyment. We must repeat!
Yep. The old Rhino Handmade rarity boxes with similar limited runs, like Recombo DNA, greatly increased in value over a very short span. Except for *my* copy, of course, CD 2 of which somehow managed to crack even though I had taken great care with it from the moment it arrived!
It's a bit ironic that my 3 year old grandson came to my house this morning and he asked me what that red object was in my room. I saw it's a Devo hat and he wanted to try it on. He loved it. I bought mine at a concert in 1982 in Toronto.
@@paullamb9366 Oh yeah? Wasn't that a great concert? Seeing Mark swing around like a monkey on a rope was hilarious. I was up in the upper left balcony. I had a great view of the stage. I went there with a friend from work I worked for Digital Equipment of Canada in Rexdale, across from the Howard Johnson.
It isn't like me to buy expenses box sets. But tonight I had to bite the bullet and order Devo's box set. I will consider it a birthday present to myself (my bday is next month). I'll also consider it an heirloom and have it passed down to my own adult children or grandson. We devoted Canadian Devo fans have to paid extra in the exchange rate. I'm not a rich man by any means but this seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity to indulge myself into yet another Devo offering. Long live DEVO!
I love you both so much for the colossal change for the better your work has had on me since ‘78, and my heart holds your brother, Jerry, forever as well.
My year review on spotify said my #1most played songs were DEVO ! I Love Devo but never had a chance to see them or get a hat..my 3 favorite albums...are we not men we are devo...duty for the future new traditionalists and freedom of choice❤
It was something about Devo when I first heard them. It was like nothing else, that's for sure. The videos were so ridiculous. I couldn't get enough no matter what my friends said!
@@josephzummo9685 Back in high school I remember there was some disdain for them from certain elements of populace, but there was only person I can think of that really hated them. Her name was Susan Mothersbaugh and I can still remember her moaning and groaning: "Oh, God! I have to say hello to them at all our family reunions!"
Is the air freshener really "scratch and sniff"? I was born in 1973. I'll never forget Gerry's comment about Devo being the band bravely playing as the Titanic of our civilization sinks before our eyes.
There once was sold scratch and sniff decals with gasoline and fart smells. However the stinky stickers became controversial and were thus removed from the markets.
Hey guys! I live pretty far away from where DEVO was loved or even heard of… I am 52 now, and the first time I heard about the band is when I got to see the « Satisfaction » video. I was extatic! I would tell all of my friends about it. Nobody knew what it was about… Today’s years later, I bought my DEVO hoodie. Nobody still knows what this is about… Well… kcuf ‘em! I still enjoy you guys! Godspeed! (For whatever God or Speed may mean for you… Even I cannot make sense of this expression given I am not of english descent…)
I got brainwashed into being a spud within the last three months and this is the sign for me to go touch grass and get a job. Maybe so I can buy more records.
The most outside of the box band ever, now inside of a box.
Very well said about streaming. If you own a digital copy, it can be taken away. If you own a physical copy, it is yours for life.

Seeing them tonight in San Francisco!!!!!!
Cannot wait.
Congratulations for 50 years🎉
Mine arrived yesterday from, of all places... Warner Australia... 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I still listen to Devo everyday. Always will have them in my playlist while skating pools.

One of the Massy Hall shows? Was also there.

I've been a superfan since the beginning. Well, since I first heard of DEVO in about 1977ish-78. This box is totally Devo-awesome!! :)
Well, you'd better Supercop a super copy then!
This may be the most Devo PBS pledge break ever. :)
Mine arived in the post to France last week 👍🏻 number 1021, I'm not opening it, this is music history! I ordered a CD to play non stop, thankyou DEVO

Mark wearing an Energy Dome Fezz. I love it.
1:45 "since the visual component was on purpose" 😄
❤❤❤I LOVE you guys❣️❣️❣️🤩🤩🤩🤩🌠💐
LOVE YOU GUYZ ‼️‼️‼️I'M SO EXCITED TO GET MINE

I can just picture your friends going "That's enough, Joe! You've had enough Devo!"
@@KenLieck everyone I knew hated them.

I’ll bet it really is, but what would we sniff?

Jerry: Admiring the gold energy dome lapel pin. Maybe science boy or turkey monkey? Limited run? I'd wear it.
DEVO straddled the pre and post computer ages, a very choppy wave early on that went smooth, broke, and then reformed.
I got brainwashed into being a spud within the last three months and this is the sign for me to go touch grass and get a job. Maybe so I can buy more records.
Is this a sign that I should get a job?
Yah mutate don’t stagnate!😎
Devo were prophets, pure and simple.
I got mine!
The most beautifully mutated box set ever! Thank you Devo!
Hell yeah
AND HE SAYS YE-YUH
DEVO made my life better 😊 Maybe a collaboration with the ga ga 😊
I wonder how big an influence The Residents were on DEVO in the early days, in terms of video if not music.
Happy Half century Spuds
"EVEN MORE ENERGY DOMES... AND MORE ENERGY DOMES" LOL
Look at you 2 old schoolers with love Spudboys
Actual physical media will never die until there is nothing recorded anywhere.
I want it

1973 left gold behind
Devo started
There are no coincidences.
How does it feel to "Shrivel up" ?😅
I'm just a poor spud, I'll be lucky to afford the cd set
Mr. Kamikaze, Mr. DNA, Mr. Kamikaze……Mr. Toupee.
Scratch & sniff... This must be the most sought after early track in nonexistence. *Shhh Don't let the pinks know...
si
No cds? I know lps are the thing but please I’d rather listen without worrying about scratching the record while dancing.
I believe there are
Don't stream, only buy vinyl and the occasional CD. Streaming's for the vacuous. Go Spuds!
This is a smart money-making record move. I thought Devo were superior to gadgets and such nonsense!
Woweeeeeeeeeeee! This is brilliant! must get this!! 🖤🫶🏼🖤🤘🏼🖤
