Should I watch The Addams Family movie after having seen this?
Well if you watch the Adam's family at least you'll get more contacts into why Wednesday's a little bit unhinged but let's be honest wednesday maybe UN hinged but aren't we all unlike she's just like the real version of life and people can't handle that so they call her unhanged

The Addams family was created in the 1930’s. Since then, many movies and shows have been created of them. The one that comes to most people’s minds is the iconic 1991 movie, directed by Tim Burton who also directed this show.
Also a fun fact; the Wednesday that was in the 1991 movie is Christina Ricci, she also appears in this show too as the teacher.
Tim Burton has no connection to the 90s Addams Family movies. Those movies were directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.

@@darthmuppet Yes, that doesn't change the fact that he had no connection to the two movies we got. He may have been offered the chance to direct, but the movies we got in the 90s had nothing at all to do with him.

The Addams Family is an old and well-loved property over here. It started as a newspaper cartoon almost a hundred years ago. They made a tv series in the 1960s, a series of live action movies in the 90s, and some CG animated movies more recently. I don't care much for this show, but I did love the take from someone who knows nothing about it 💜
I've noticed a pattern: one huge live action project every 30 years (the 1964-1966 series, the 1991 and 1993 movies, and now the Wednesday series in 2022). Can't wait for the next one in the 2050s 🤣
Wednesday is 15 in the show she actually turns 16 in a later episode. Jenna Ortega is actually 20.
To be fair she does have a babyface. (Though everyone looks like a baby to me this side of 40.) I had a hard time figuring out how old she's supposed to be.
It's gotta be the pigtails.
This show gets real mysterious and interesting real fast, totally worth finishing. And the movies are amazing, definitely watch them.
Personally I think it gets into the hard stuff too fast. The show is pretty good but has some serious pacing problems.

@@WorldTree33 I found the pacing to be bad from the get go. If the creators really had faith in this show they should've made the first episode the first season. Too much happened in the pilot with characters that we as an audience weren't connected to. They should have spent the first half of the series building up Wednesday's relationships and the general vibe of the school before showing us that things weren't adding up and revealing Eugene tried to kill Wednesday and introducing the prophecy during the season finale after we actually cared about him and made some kind of bond to the character. As it is we find out Eugene is bad in what is supposed to be a climactic moment at the fair but feels very lack luster because it's so soon. The Laurel Gates/Goody/Crackstone was compelling enough to be the overarching plot line across a whole series (think Pretty Little Liars A mystery) but instead was crammed into 8 episodes. Given more time they also could've better explored Morningstar with Bianca's identity crisis and Enid's trouble shifting along with how it affects how her family treats her and made them into proper side stories and character archs instead of smushing the brunt of it into a single episode. If there is a season 2 the writers will have to connect some random stalker plot point when the original mystery was fine, and assuming the show does get more seasons beyond that they'll be forced to be one different adventure after another that don't naturally connect together lest season be an outlier, which I personally find to be lazy writing. I could go on even more with better detail but this already feels too long.

Yes to watching the Addams Family movies. The Addams Family (1991) & Addams Family Values (1993). They're both great movies.
I watched them back in the 90's when they came out & 30 years later, I'm still watching them. Highly recommended.

see I never understood why Enid said "this kitty has claws" if she's a werewolf I've seen majority of reactors get confused by the line (mostly cause they weren't listening when she said "like me" when introducing the furs) there was definitely an opportunity there for a more cohesive one liner, but maybe thats the point because Enid is different to the other furs idk.

I mean, I also watch Wednesday Addams (the entire season) with no context lol but it’s extremely easy to understand the characters and the story flow regardless. I have never watched any other of the Addams Family content or movies, series, etc. But you don’t need to when watching Wednesday Addams.

This might not be the right place, but can I suggest a film? “Only The Brave” is a true story about a crew of wildland firefighters (fight wildfires), and how they became regarded as one of the most elite firefighter crews in America. It’s actually a pretty interesting story about how wildfires are fought, plus it’s a true story.
In a lot of media it’s really normal for highschool students to work at the local coffee shop in a small town. In america it’s kinda the same as well.
Also they got the beer because they filmed in Romania

The running joke of Addams family is that they are a polar opposite of traditional sitcom family. So, for example, you got mom and dad/husband and wife who are 100% CRAZY about each other and support their kids 100% in their interests and hobbies. And in the US highschoolers often work (a lot of that work being in service industry). Wednesday is 15 at the start of the show, and al the guys can't be older then 17, but they are probably even closer to her age. Jenna Ortega is simply small and looks younger.
