Good man Jimmy wish i watched your videos before i was conned by unscrupoulous garages constantly fixing my DPF, they never ever fixed it properly like you. We all need people like you Jimmy you are Honest !
Très bonne vidéos. La plupart des personnes qui nettoient le DPF ouvre la sonde en bas alors que le DPF et sur la grosse sonde lambda. Voilà une bonne vidéos
As I do work on my own car, I often wonder if car manufacturers actually design engines in such a way as to make them as difficult as possible for guys like Jimmy or even have a go merchants like me to try and pull out parts and replace them. It's like when the engine is assembled in the factory, they then shoe horn it into the engine bay without a thought as to how someone might have to replace a part in the future.
Oil and filter changes seem to be easier on modern cars than they've ever been. The crammed engine bays are down to wanting to keep the cars small and light for performance and economy. No excess bodywork metal around the engine to make access easier. And then there's the whole DPF system thing, which is there to meet emmissions legislation, which is there to address car pollution. Even though they affect car reliability, simplicity and performance. Smokey old diesel vehicles were a pain in the lungs. Euro 4 onwards are a lot better.
@@lint8391 While changing the oil and filter on my Qashqai is a doddle, it’s a pain in the ass in my mothers Clio where you have to go through the offside front wheel arch and then try not to dislocate your shoulder to get at the oil filter. In older cars (80’s and 90’s), there was clear daylight around the engine to work on it. So much room, you could almost stand in the engine bay! Modern cars with emission control parts and electronic this and that fill out the engine bay making it far more difficult to work on modern cars.
Hi Jimmy. I wanted to thank you for helping me fix my 2011 Fiat Ducato 115 multijet. After watching some videos and deciding on my best course of action. Today I fixed my DPF fault for good. It did cost 500€ but 350€ of that was a good ODB2 computer. I've reduced my back pressure by 90% and now have a fancy ODB2 reader i can use on other cars. Thanks again. Loads cheaper than a garage!
Hi IT THE GUY From Heathrow with the galaxy I've got another fun with another CAR IT A KIA RIO sometimes it turns over but won't start for ages taking it two garages and I can't find the problem And NICE Job AS always 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, watching this I think has helped me. I have a 2013 Mini Cooper d with 79k, I am getting 486a,4868, air system to egr plausability and 4530 boost pressure, is this the same issue but related to my reader being different
Hi, I have the exact same car but on 63k, I noticed that the banding you cut has already been done on mine but the pipe has a split. I have a replacement coming so would like to know how long it took to remove the intake pipe. I have new seals coming as well just in case.
hey jimmy what do use to get the oil off your hands everytime i do the odd job om my family cars always have oil left on my hands i started using a brush on a drill but still not great thanks
Jimmy I really appreciate you getting back to me I text a lot of my RUclipsr’s got no reply thank you and I love watching your videos.I find some very interesting tips on then thanks again jimmy 👍
Nice work. Do you ever get many VW's with issues? I had several issues with my old Ford mondeo with failed dpf regens and oil level increasing. I have never had an issue with my vw.
Hello, maybe someone can help me with an idea about an issue that I have. 120d n47 engine, dpf on, 177 hp 2011 e87. I have these codes 497D exhaust pressure sensor before turbine, plausibility 4CA7: 4CA7 fuel temperature sensor, plausibility I try sometimes to do some work on my own, because shops tend to not get that much committed to solve the issue, they recommend to change a lot of parts and that's all from their side. I had an issue with ac discharging in max 1 year. And the guy from the shop told me don't bother searching and fixing the issue, just fill it next year. I went to a friend of mine, and he gave me instructions what to disassembly and changed the radiator and found a pipe that had a hole in it. So I try to figure it out myself.
@@thindo 100% but that doesn't stop them selling guff cars and then claiming their warranty that covers engine and gearbox doesn't apply when the engine breaksdown cause it's not an engine fault. Ask me how I know.
@@thindo Bought two from dealers and the faults were never obvious from the word go, but almost certainly had been there for a while. I guess I could blame ignorance on their behalf, but it's frustrating given that I paid more than a private sale for the 'security'.

Scary thinking how many motorists might have been ripped off with unsuccessful dpf repairs. This guys a wizard 😅
Not really, he just uses his eyes and his brain.

Blimey i have a job to eat my tea one handed , and here you are fixing vehicles with one hand and filming with the other👍
Wish I had 2 right hands. I'm right handed so have to record with that hand but that means I have to repair with the left hand

Another great video and thanks for replying to my email, Jimmy, appreciated as I'm sure you are very busy ! Cheers.
Can you tell me where to connect the cable with connector, what's behind the egr and go straight down? From 4:50 it's in right upper corner
Hi do you know what’s it’s called at 3:40 mines got a huge hole in it and searching air intake mesh etc isn’t helping thanks
Proper job 👍

from experience, if Mini has no fault codes its not running right 😆
Did changing the turbo fix the problem or did the fault code come back after?

Ultra grime wipes on the road or swarfega at home. A simple fairy liquid does a good job too

Nice BMW engineering design doesn't make it easy for the mechanic
Very true

I have never had an issue with my vw.
I used to do loads of vw but not so much now
Love what you do, but please protect your skin those hydrocarbons from engine oil seep through the skin over years and don’t do you any good. ❤
Thanks for the tip!
great video. What areas in UK do you cover for repair? best way to reach you? email or telephone. Thank you.

All the more reason to buy from a trader and not private seller
