🟢 TUFF HEDEMAN
Tuff Hedeman is a four-time world champion bull rider, ProRodeo, and Bull Riding Hall of Fame inductee. Tuff won the PRCA bull riding world championship three times (1986, 1989, and 1991) and the 1995 (PBR) world championship. He also won the 1993 world championship for the now-defunct Bull Riders Only (BRO) organization.
Additionally, in 1999, Pro Bull Riders (PBR) honored him with the PBR Legends and Heroes Celebration: Ring of Honor. He later served as the President of the PBR and then the President and Ambassador of Championship Bull Riding (CBR). In 2018, he formed his bull riding organization: the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour (THBRT). Tuff is known for not only his championship bull riding, including infamous clashes with bucking bull Bodacious but also for being one of Lane Frost’s closest friends. I love tuffs old stories I could listen for hours
I wasn't there..
I first met Lane back in the early mid eighties when I lived in New Mexico, great guy enjoyed talking and sharing a few laughs with him. Last time I met up with him was in my home town in Montana when Lewis Feild and him flew in to take part in the short go-round at my home town rodeo. The Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede. I'll never forget that summer of 1989 and my friendship with Lane.
That is really cool , never met neither , simply admired from afar , choice Cowboy Real heroes , just Know He was never afraid!
Tuff, you owe Lane Frost, he made you fight more and ride better. You are the goat bull riding. He would be so proud of you 😊

Wow just learning about these bad @ss men with balls of steel and faces of titanium. So amazing to watch them wrestle all that raw power. Risking their life for adrenaline. I would never have the guts.
I remember when I met Lane, in Buffalo, Minnesota 1989 we were both up the same day, and I believe it was Sunday day matinee. I too, didn’t want to like him because I was jealous, and then I felt bad because that’s not who I am. He walked up to me behind the chutes before we rode and asked me if I had any black Rosen I said no then I remembered I did, and offered it to him but he already found some. He drew a really good bull and won the rodeo I wound up with winning day money. This occurred probably 2 weeks before he was killed.
What is black Rosen?
@@getstuk87 there’s white resin and black resin, white resin comes in a powder just like you see power lifers use, they call it chalk. Black resin comes in chunks, like dried sap. Both give a better grip when your hand is in the hand hold of a bull rope and also on its tail of the bull rope about halfway down. Black rosin is very sticky. You break small pieces off and work it into the hand hold and tail then you get it hot by pulling down on the tail and across on the hand hold with your gloved riding hand at fast rates.

So were Jim Sharp and Clint Branger, but they barely mentioned Sharp and cut Branger out of the movie totally

I ran into him several times in the fort Worth stockyards first time I was playing the white elephant saloon and I took a quick break and went to the bar and I actually met my fiance there she was a barmaid then a couple of weekends later me and my bandmates went to eat at risky steakhouse and he was there and he said hey want to check him have a beer with me and I was only 21 years old but I knew who he was because I grew up a bull rider and watching him on TNN it was like a thing that me and my family did I was like 4 years old the time I can remember and it was before Lane was killed by taking care of business but anyways my bandmates didn't know who he was. They grew up City boys anyways we ended up going to the stockyard saloon with him and I don't look it in my bandmates don't look like it but I'm the only true country boy in that band but I have hair past my shoulders tattoos up and down my arms earrings and my bass player has long hair and my drummer is shaved bald head and they're quite a bit older than me but when we got our start at silver saloon in Terrell Texas in the house band and just decided it wasn't for us and they found out I was a songwriter also not only do I play lead guitar and sing but I had my own original songs and we became not just the band we're like brothers and it was pretty ironic we all went through the same thing at the same time we all were going through a divorce and it was weird because it was a Saturday and we all the week before had filed for divorce from our first wives and so they all came out to my farm and Athens Texas I had 370 acres with fishing ponds and they came out we shot guns and we went to the grocery store got some steaks all kinds of stuff like that went to the liquor store and then they came to in the house and I have a poster 8 seconds Lane Frost tuff, Ty Murray, Don gay Jim Sharp etc. They didn't never know that I was a radio cowboy when I was younger but I had a bad accident when I was 19 and I had to take a couple years off and then I got back into it and got hurt again and but anyways when we ran into tuff at risky's steakhouse I told them I said y'all seen a picture of him before they said where and I said in my garage he's a bull rider his name is tough hedeman he said oh yeah I know the poster you're talking about but he told some good stories

I know how Lane's Momma feels. I lost my boy in 2003. He was 13 years old, getting the mail and was hit by an out of control car. I've been a Bereaved Mother for 20 years so mind your own business. Can you re-shoot this podcast and have Tuff's audio better quality? It sucks. Either have to turn speakers up one second, then down the next and half the time it did not matter because he sounded sooo low.
It was one of the first ones I produced... It was a bad combination of tuff not having his mic close enough on top of the beginning of the learning curve... it has gotten better... much better... thank you for the feedback!

A little of all that but the interviewer isn't familiar with the subject matter so it seems Tuff is trying to educate him while telling the story and pulled in various directions mentally... In addition to chemicals and contact.
Probably has a little trouble talking from having half his face crushed by a bull (Bodacious) and then reconstructed in surgery.
