Hello everyone! This is Faye Jackson, writer/director of Ten of Swords. Thank you for watching! I will be checking in here to answer your questions so please let me know if you have any.
This is such a cool flipping take on zombies. I have never before seen a take from the zombie's perspective... I loved the touch with the language barrier between humans and their ability to communicate with each other! Not only that, but I think this could 100% be built into a series!
The humor is akin to deadpan, the dialogue is unexpected but fits perfectly, and the direction you took this in makes this a unique zombie short movie. Well done!
Awesome take on zombies! I love how the fight scene at the end was so slow. It was much more accurate imo! Also, seeing people nonchalantly walking around with swords sticking out of their backs was just awesome.
Seeing all of those knives in his back reminds me of what Carrie did to her mean mother at the end of the movie Carrie. I wonder if that’s where the film makers came up with the idea. This was a pretty well written film. The cast and crew did great and you did great with your direction Faye hope you will present us with many more great written films
Life from a zombies perspective with a dystopian twist! Betrayal from every angle. I really like it! I could easily see this as a full length feature, horror both psychological from the nonsense, some physical grodyness of course, but absolutely loaded with comedy and dry humor.
I came here for Theo Solomon, but this is great. Excellent worldbuilding in a short amount of time, really nice cinematics, and good acting. I enjoyed!
Just when I thought there could be no new spin, you have proven there is no end to the spin on zombie flix! DAMN that was excellent on so many levels, including the script. Zombies movies are my favorite! The soundtrack is absolutely astounding! There needs to be awards for these horror shorts and this would most definitely win . . . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Man, Wyll’s life really took a turn after breaking the contract with Mizora… Edit: Thank you everyone that liked this comment 🥹 Its the first time I have gotten likes on my comments (not that I commented frequently 🌚) Wishing everyone a good day ahead!
I'm not a fan of zombie media but this was a new take and very interesting. It almost felt like the pilot of a new series (which I would absolutely watch!) Script, acting, everything was so well done!
The problem is, if this golden idea became a tv series, it would be infested with awful plot twists and characters who switch back and forth on their ideals every episode like in cbs or syfy. We would need the producers and directors to be filled with integrity and dedication to the art, not money, to make this work.
I liked it. Its a different concept. One id like to see play out on screen. The ending was great. It made me laugh. And the soundtrack was amazing. I love new orleans and cant wait to get back there.
Damn good take on zombie concept🤩 loved it👌🏻 this truly shows how zombies can hear other zombies and talk to them whereas in all zombie movies it’s like the humans only hear ‘Grhhh… grhhh… ’😂from zombies🧟♀️🧟 this is a zombie pov short film👌🏻
This shows the true horror of the original zombie concept: An undead servant whose soul is enslaved, forced to do the master's bidding. In the modern age, they would absolutely be forced to work for soulless corporations.
Been watching a lot of alter films this last week probably have binged half the catalog. And it got to a point where a lot are repetitive or just boring and now it’s like when I find a really really good it’s makes me want more. Man this was one it’s just like warm bodies but a different take. I want to see what homie and right hand girl was gone do
@Faye Jackson…great things for you! You’re very talented…hope to see much more of your work dear…well done! ✌️😄👍 🇦🇺 Zombie 🧟♀️🧟♂️🧟Blues…haha 😝👏👏👏👏👏👏 Milton aka Alex 😝
I enjoyed this. The overall story was a little "clunky." I'm hoping that was because this is a "proof of concept" short and there will be more to come, I think this has a lot of potential. Has a bit of a Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently vibe, but a unique tone all it's own.

Curious to see the comment be from seven days ago with a video release today.
@@secondtoinfinity1944 Alter pin the director's comment before release so we're easy to find if you have a question!
Absolutely phenomenal work! Great job!
Loved this!!!
@@LuxeLaFemme Thank you so much!
The poor guy was both metaphorically and literally stabbed in the back.
( Heavy sigh) ' I think we should just eat them!' I love it! Self aware zombies with a sense of humor. More like this please. Very good!!

I agree as I and my family said much of the same thing while watching it.
The humor is akin to deadpan, the dialogue is unexpected but fits perfectly, and the direction you took this in makes this a unique zombie short movie. Well done!
Thank you!
I LOVE this new direction on zombies. Everyone involved did such a good job, thank you alter for bringing us another great piece!
Thank you!
This should be a Netflix series

referring to their *new* name as a dead name was an awesome subtle joke at 8:45 lmao
A brilliant twist. The zombie thing is so overplayed lately that it takes a really creative idea like this to get me interested again.

10 of swords: painful endings, deep wounds, betrayal, loss, and crisis
The first actually interesting zombie movie I've seen in a long time. Really inventive idea, with excellent execution!
A splendid reinvention of the genre. “Bloody” loved it.
Not usually into Zombie flicks but i enjoyed this one .
The story was awesome! The music. 1,000 chef kisses. I am an absolute sucker for bayou blues.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! I adore Theo Solomon, he's such a great actor and this shows it!
Man, Wyll’s life really took a turn after breaking the contract with Mizora…

What’s this from?
@ Baldur’s gate 3 ☺️
This is it - this is the best take on zombies I've ever seen.
Thank you so much! Somewhere along the way I started to find them relatable!
I want this as a tv show to really explore the world
This was excellent! Loved the plot, the acting was great and that blues funk in the background had me stomping my feet right along with them!

O MY GOSH!! What a clever take on zombies! Seriously, I love this! I hope someday you can make a full-length movie!!!!
I liked it. Its a different concept. One id like to see play out on screen. The ending was great. It made me laugh. And the soundtrack was amazing. I love new orleans and cant wait to get back there.
Yep. Agree!
This is an epic way to approach the zombie genre that has been worn out
Really enjoyed that. Thank you. Very well done.
Can u make this a series please! This is too good & would definitely be worth watching 🤩
Good job! 🖤🧟♂️
Thank you! I hope we can!

Spot on says this dude from Brooklyn 😂

This was really good.
The dead name thing made me giggle I love it
This was great. I'd love to see this adapted into a TV series or full-length film.
Please, PLEASE, flesh out (no pun intended) the film and make it a full length feature zombie extravaganza!! 🧟♀️🧟♂️🧟
Oh, great pun
This is such an interesting take on zombies lol
ALTER, I subscribed because your videos are super cool!
Great short film! I love zombies and I really enjoyed it. The deadpan humour and effects are on point. Nice job!
Thank you!
This is Zombie labor! Gotta fight for ZOMBIE RIGHTS!
Love this!
The guy is right. Being a zombie is better than being human. You get good food, free accomodation, work, good company. What more could a guy ask for.
A life without video games is not life.
I thought the zombie genre was used up, but you definitely breathed new life into it! I just added this to my list of favorite short films.
Thank you so much!
This is really good with some nice dark humor.. I'd love to see more of this world

Very nice.
Very interesting concept from a Zombie's perspective
Pretty damn Good
Great creative footage style!
I would not mind a whole comedic series about this plot. Remind me of "iZombie" quite a bit.
