  • This is a very long build guide / build log / tutorial for making your own Kronomag!
My main regrets with this project are just that I don't know the actual FPS (not owning a proper chronograph) and that I don't have a better cut line for the blaster's shell.

Nice comprehensive build guide, might get one myself. Which ThinkPad model is your laptop?

I don't know the Thinkpad model off the top of my head, but I can tell you it is at least 5 years old. It runs Linux quite nicely at least. :)

Incidentally, finally remembered to check. The laptop is a T510.

Thanks for posting this. Based on the mistakes you called out in the original design, I am going back and revising his files. I got his permission to reupload them when I finish and verify my changes!

That would be very cool! I know there's a kit for this by "Create with Ezekiel" but I always thought it was nice when there are free community designs as well. Granted, when you can go to Walmart and get a 200 FPS blaster off the shelf, it may be slightly less relevant.

I've seen lots of video overviews about it. it's neat to see the process of actually assembling one. Amazing video, Gar!

Excellent guide. I will have to use this when I perhaps get that one that’s been sitting on my bench working.

Issue on 27:33 , do you know what will be the solution on this that the 2 shells could not properly close with the 3D printed part of front end? Thx

I think it's unfortunately not really optimized in the 3d printed part. Myvenom commented on my Reddit post at the following link with some insight. I think basically it boils down to sanding/trimming the shell and the 3d print where possible until you get it to close. old.reddit.com/r/Nerf/comments/ay0tpk/kronomag_tutorialbuild_guide_very_long/

Any thoughts on the idea of hollowing out the center (including the entire post that fits into the body of a dart) of a waffle dart head and using it as a spacer to center your katana mag release spring, rather than re-printing a wider latch?

I hadn't, but that's an interesting thought. I have a spare Kronos now and I was thinking about doing another one with possible improvements - like I was thinking about trying to do the breech differently, and maybe reduce dead space. Still just mulling it over for now though.
Hey, I don't know how common your name is but are you Frenzy from the old Transformers MUSH?

Yea @American foam, on the original kronomag, the only 3d printed part is the tac rail. Very possible. I was very impressed with dereks work with that mag catch. Dead space, I used GO2 glue to fill.
And do push higher than k26, I use an 18.5 turf. 10"-12" better for 18.5 turf

@@gargunkle yea for 200 fps, 14kg is fine.

End up kicking your self after talons won out?

    • @gargunkle
      @gargunkle  5 лет назад

Does feel like it's going that direction, doesn't it? Sort of. When I printed four of my KaThanhas, it was the 1.0 (or 1.x) version, and Thanhlon wasn't out yet. I do think that if Thanhlon was out, I'd have gone with that instead. And now in the future, any more that I print will probably be KaThanha 2.x. Currently I have two of the latter.
So far the main possible regret I have is Flygonial's Gryphon is for Talon only (last I checked) but he was planning to add KaThanha probably. Everything else mostly seems to have K and/or T.
