Heyyyyy lovelies - thank you all so so much for all of your advice. So many amazing ideas of how we can seal Resin Crete. I didn't try any other sealers because I wanted a like for like comparison with the Jesmonite video I did last week with silk screens. However, there are many sealers that could be tried for sure. I also didn't use the Resin crete paints from the kit ... I will definitely have a play with this soon 😍😍😍😍
Steve McDonald crafting just did a resincrete Eco puffy heart that he painted with metallic paint after it died. He sealed it with something called dragonfly glaze. 🤷 I'm sure there's a way to seal this. It was just perfect, Claire! Don't feel bad that you tried this for us and the sealer didn't work. We love you! Happy Yule!!!
Beautiful, as always. I use Eco Advance to seal my Resincrete and Hydrostone projects. You just dip it in the liquid, let it start soaking in, and dip it again within 30 minutes. There’s no rubbing in or streaks. I buy it on Amazon. Side note - I had to rewind and listen to you say “little red truck hauling a Christmas tree” using an American southern accent a few times. As a Texan, that cracked me up. You sounded so cute! ETA: I *think* it was Steve McDonald who said you need to seal Resincrete before you paint on it and then again after painting.
That is great advice thankyou so much 😍😍 ahhhh ha that little red truck hauling a Christmas tree was from TIK TOK 🤣🤣 some guy said it and it went viral and now its stuck in my head 🤣🤣🤣
Oh gosh, it hardly seems a year ago you were doing a Christmas tree on a truck project. From memory that glitched a bit too. Third time’s the charm, look out Christmas 2024. Just keep smiling and it’s all good.
Thank you so much for the shout out Claire, I’m so glad George likes them, he’s such a cutie, they were always one of Chippys favourites. I LOVE the red truck even though it caused you hassle! I reckon where you scraped with your nail that it looks like a pimp my ride truck, it looks like decoration on it. I am sooo into the little red truck this year, thanks so much for doing another video with it.❤️xx
Is it weird that i literally squealed very loudly when i realized you were doing the red trick with the tree??? I absolutely adore that scene oh my gosh!❤❤ beautiful Claire, just so beautiful!
I have used a glittered Mod Podge for sealing my resincrete and it worked well. I will have to try with the paint. Thanks Claire! Update I made a small tray with Resincrete tinted with Homewares, stenciled with white acrylic, waited 24 hours and sealed with mod podge, no issues!
The project was too exciting, but never mind these tiny lessons give us valuable experiences,Ms Claire 💜,I love the tray as it is 💖 Hope you are having great time 💖
I use Tri-Art acrylic ink and it works wonderfully, I don't know if they are available for you, but I'm sure there are other brands of acrylic ink where you are. I then seal it with Minwax polycrylic sealer Absolutely love the silkscreens. The red truck! beautiful 😍
I love how you say "the little red truck with the tree sticking out" with your southern accent like other people do English accents. I'VE NEVER heard that one before! It's fantastic ❣️ but then again so are you so why would it be 🎄🤶🥰
I've seen others already suggested a spray sealer. Give it a go next time, but I wouldn't keep my hopes high as even the spray sealer may be a disappointment. That tray was such a beauty, hopes it works better next time
Used to sell Christmas trees. They normally put them in a truck or on the hood of vehicles with the trunk of tree facing the back so when going down the road the branches are going the same way as the wind. If the tree is on "backwards" the branches would be blown the wrong way..not going with the wind if that all makes sense..so awesome job on tree placement. ❤
Thank you so much for your inspiring videos. I ordered some jesmonite that came in kit fashion. Can’t wait to dive in. Thank you for your excellent creativity.💜💜
I was sitting here watching you as you put the sealers on saying "NO, NO, NO!!! Ahhh, that's so sad!!!" My hubby thought someone died. He was so worried. 😂😂😂😂😂 I was so sad when things started to smear!!! It was so perfect and beautiful then... that darn sealer ruined your beautiful red truck and tree. 😭😭😭
I wonder if you can try a matte spray first. We do that with tole painting, as we use acrylic paints as well. After the matte spray then we use a gloss of semi gloss sealer
Hi lovely fellow Essex girl, I’ve just bought resin crete to try as I’m struggling with the mask as I’ve had brain surgeries and I overheat with the mask on so have seizures. But I WILL overcome this as love doing this. So I tried some and wondered if u have figured out what to seal with yet my lovely? Xx
Hi Claire. I wonder if you could save the tray itself by using a very fine sandpaper on it, then a very thin layer of more resincrete on the base? You could redo the stencil, and maybe leave it for a few days, then possibly use a light coating of a spray varnish? I don't even know if a spray varnish would work on resincrete, or if it would just run. Just a thought.
Try a stamp / stamps on the resin-Crete next time? The red paint was low quality acrylic, that's why it smudged. Clear gloss resin over the paint and crete would have been permanent/ protecting.
Yes, it looks a bit worse for wear but if it's now sealed it's still a pretty piece! The only tray I've made so far is on my mother's wall as a piece of art, wonky cheap mould flaws, air bubble holes and all. This could be used similarly without sealing. 💜 Chippy! 💜
My first thought was several light coats of a spray sealer but I'm wondering if the jesmonite sealer especially since it's watered down didn't get into the paint and cause it to loosen. Maybe if the jesmonite sealer hadn't been applied first maybe the wax wouldn't have smeared it. I have used resin crete with acrylic paints and wax sealer without an issue before. I do however dry it with heat which may help to bake it into the surface ?
Ohhhhh it's great to know that you've used this method and its been successful ... I did use heat for about a minute ... but sadly even after 48 hours it still smudged ... unlike the jesmonite which worked immediately
Claire, have you ever tried a product called PYM? It is a spray archival quality sealant for protecting valuable paper - I have used it in a lot of my resin pieces to seal the paper - I’m thinking that maybe you could try it on the eco pour, as it is a pour oís substance - that way, you aren’t wiping the surface, you spray from a distance of about 8-10 inches, in an even motion, then leave it to dry for a few hours - at that point, you might be able to sponge your sealant across the surface without smearing - I’m not positive it would work on this, but I think it is worth a try.
*YOU GOT YOUR TRUCK!!!* In a silkscreen!!! OHHH, that is so cool, Claire! 😍👍😊 Ohhh, noooo! I'm so sorry it smeared. 💔😢 Does Resincrete need to be sealed before being painted, maybe? Do you have acrylic INKS (instead of paint)? Maybe those would work? Just guessing, as I don't silk screen...!
What about a spray sealer? I use acrylic paints on my ceramics, then use a spray sealer. I have both matte and glossy. I usually put 2 or 3 coats on and there is no rubbing. It's great for ceramics, but i have never used it on resin crete or jesmonite. It's from Krylon, is permanent, non-yellowing, moisture proof and smudge proof. It says it's for art, crafts, and valuables. Dries fast and clear. It says it can be used on displays, crafts, tole painting, watercolors, charcoal, pencil, painted surfaces. Use on wood, metal, plastic, paper mache, glass, plaster, ceramic, dried and silk flowers, paper, wicker, etc. It doesn't say heat resistant, so i don't think I would use it on a coaster. Claire, I would have been freaking out after smudging it.😮. I would have had to walk away from it for a while before fixing it because I would have been so angry with myself! You were very professional and persistent and had the patience of a saint! ❤. Love ya!!! ⛄🎄🎁💙
I think in this case Clair as soon as you realised what was happening I would have used a Spray sealer to protect it.Sponges are excellent applicators ,but they are slightly coarse, and so is tissue paper,so that did not help in this case,if the paint was just sitting on the surface..A paintbrush lightly over the surface may even have done less damage with a wet amount of sealer on it so it just glided..I say this as it’s like covering something painted on wood.,that’s usually covered with a wet brush or with a spray protection .Hope this helps .Quality of your paint you used could be the problem too..
Just a thought, but when I paint concrete, I damp it first so thqt it absorbs the paint with the water. I wonder if it would do the same on this material?
Hi Claire. I'm after some advice please if possible. Ive just brought some jdiction resincrete. I've used it and I'm so pleased. But I've found the items are a bit brittle even after 24 hours. Am I doing anything wrong 🤔 ? I've coated some with uv resin and they are obviously stronger, but I didnt want to have to coat them all. Thank you in advance x
I bought some resincrete to try. Any idea what happens if you don't leave it over night. And is there a way or speeding that up. Like putting near a radiator? And what sealer have you found that works best with this I'm unsure what one to get. Shame the paint didn't seal looks good the wise. Maybe regular epoxy or maybe even uv would work to protect the image.
I watched Steve McDonald’s latest video straight after and he was doing similar and he sealed his painting with dragon glaze. Maybe worth looking into 😊
Beautiful truck, have you ever thought about using screen printing ink? Might be better if theres one designed for ceramics, Ive never used any eco products but I have screenprinted a lot back in my yunger days lol
Heyyyyyy lovely ... Jesmonite was never available in the USA until now .. you guys have a Brand new OFFICIAL stockist in Washington ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ check out the Jesmonite website and read the list of stockists it's on there
So what sealer would you use on resincrete if you didn’t do the silk screen print? Also I am looking for heat and moisture proof sealer for resincrete but ideally not epoxy, is there such a thing on the market?
I’m thinking it needed more cure time than a few days. I only varnish a painting after a few weeks of curing time. The paint is dry but it takes longer that that to cure. IMO. Would have to let it sit a a few weeks and try again.
It shouldn't have need more cure time ... my gut is telling me it would never be long enough especially as it worked immediately with the Jesmonite 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
I find 24 hours is not long enough for these products to be free of water. I weighed it a day after and a week later, major differences as the water evaporated.

That’s what I was thinking as well, seal first
My heart sank for you when it started to smudge...such a cute image for a tray 🛻🛻🎄🎄
Very interesting video. Thanks Claire 🫶
Those are self adhesive stencils. Silk screens are thru a fine screen. A couple light coats of spray sealer would have worked to save your cute truck.
Thank you so much for the shout out Claire, I’m so glad George likes them, he’s such a cutie, they were always one of Chippys favourites. I LOVE the red truck even though it caused you hassle! So many questions, and a few comments…. I’m just so thankful I found you last year. You’re so kind…
Thank you for your video's. It's good to know what works and what don't. Keep up the good work.
What a ahane as you did such an awesome job if the silk screen. But it's how we learn so thanks so much for sharing this. ❤
I absolutely love the little red truck and tree images. I always a thin coat of spray sealer over paint before applying any liquid sealer.
What I love about you Claire is you go for it., regardless of the outcome. Sincerely well done.
Is it weird that i literally squealed very loudly when i realized you were doing the red trick with the tree??? I absolutely adore that scene oh my gosh!❤❤ beautiful Claire, just so beautiful!

Absolutely brilliant
Omg, Claire, your accent when you talked about the red truck..!!! 😂😂😂 I live in Texas so it was exceptionally funny to me!!
I too live in Texas and was laughing so hard 😅😅😅😅
Thank you so much for trying this out. I do love resincrete, so this is a great video for me. ❤❤❤
I plan on doing a bu ch of these for valentines dayyy I cannot wait. Thank you for the inspo
What a roller-coaster of emotions, from 😍😮😍 to 😳😭😟
🤣🤣🤣 I know right .. sorry x lol
Same here!😂
The project was too exciting, but never mind these tiny lessons give us valuable experiences,Ms Claire 💜,I love the tray as it is 💖
Hope you are having great time 💖
Ahh! That came out so clear and crisp-I’m saddened that the sealer didn’t work. Another inspiration!
I just poured a thin layer of resin...it worked just fine Claire 😊
I use Tri-Art acrylic ink and it works wonderfully, I don't know if they are available for you, but I'm sure there are other brands of acrylic ink where you are. I then seal it with Minwax polycrylic sealer
Absolutely love the silkscreens. The red truck! beautiful 😍
Stunning.
The little red truck is my favorite as well. Sooo many possibilities. Love this tray 😍
It is so gorgeous I love it

I use a spray on acrylic sealer and it works well
Hi Claire what a shame is smudged 😢 it was so perfect 🥰, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
You can use a thin layer of resin on top to seal it! Give that a try!
Hi all hi Claire sorry I missed your video just watching it now
Adorable. ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Can't wait until you do the moon phases screen and the zodiac screen. You are fun to watch your videos. Merry Christmas And Happy New Year 🎊.
By all see you all Saturday
This is so cute! I would have done it tree then truck, but either way it’s adorable 🥰🌲🎄

The tray looks beautiful anyways,Ms Claire, but yeah this project turned out a learning point too💜.Have a great day 🥰💜
Humm, thanks for the information. Marry Christmas
I've used watered-down PVA to seal painted resincrete items
Love the screens on the trays.
Your christmas tray turned out great, dear Claire 💕💕 I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🌟🎄
Thank you so much for your inspiring videos. I ordered some jesmonite that came in kit fashion. Can’t wait to dive in. Thank you for your excellent creativity.💜💜
Maybe put a layer of epoxy resin to seal the painting.
Same thought

He was so worried. 😂😂😂😂😂 I was so sad when things started to smear!!! It was so perfect and beautiful then... that darn sealer ruined your beautiful red truck and tree. 😭😭😭
Thank you for this helpful Video 😃 It looks so cool 🤩🤩🤩 but you should use spray sealer the next time 😉
I used Annie Sloan wax and speedball screen printing ink acrylic on the eco and it was fine but only used a white ink
Wishing You, Tim and George a happy Xmas and New Year xx
Very nice silkscreen prints, sorry the sealant didn’t respect the paint. Thank you for sharing. ❄️🎅❤️🎄🫎🦌🤶🛷⛄️🎁
I've used aqua cast from elichem and sealed with wax
Hi hun you could try a sealer spray that way you don't have to touch it
I wonder if you can try a matte spray first. We do that with tole painting, as we use acrylic paints as well. After the matte spray then we use a gloss of semi gloss sealer

Hi I was just wondering if you could've use spray varnish wouldn't that have sealed your hard work

Ohhhhhh, crap. So sorry that the sealer didn't work with the Resincrete. The tray was adorable. xoxoxoxoox

Heyyyy lovely yes ... sanding it would be the only option, here xx
Usually you can remove acrylic paint with alkohol even after it has fully dried.
Try a stamp / stamps on the resin-Crete next time?

Clear gloss resin over the paint and crete would have been permanent/ protecting.
Looks good (pre sealant lol). What about a spray acrylic sealant?

if you want to seal it use Krylon Matte spray. spray from a distance and don't soak it gently spray and just do several coats
I am gutted for you as it was so lovely. Can you varnish resin crete?
Have a fabulous Christmas Clare 🎄🎄🎄🎄

MOD PODGE!!! They have a sealing spray!

That is beautiful. ❤❤❤
Can you seal it with resin? I don't know, I never have tried resin crete.
I use paint on resin crete. I use a spray sealer.

Hi Claire, I’m wondering if a couple of passes with a good quality hairspray would seal the paint in. 😊
It’s got to be the resin Crete as acrylic paint is waterproof when dry. I’d use a spray sealer.

Acrylic paint isn't fully dry after 5 hours, it's dry to the touch. Probably around 3 to 5 days to be fully cured.
I watched Steve McDonald’s latest video straight after and he was doing similar and he sealed his painting with dragon glaze. Maybe worth looking into 😊
Could you use a spray sealer over the paint before you seal the whole thing??
Oh my goodness. Can you fix it? It started out pretty good 😌
maybe try some matt spray varnish ?

Yes 🙌🙌🙌

Hi. Resincrete? What is that ? I dont think we have that in Portugal, how does it work? In relation to jesmonite?
#ClairemademedoitAGAIN!😂😂😂 Basket is about to be full AGAIN!!!!!!!!😮😅😅
Hi Claire, Do you have to wear a respirator with resin Crete? 😘
Heyyyyyy lovely ... no
A dust mask is a good idea though .. so that the powder doesn't get breathed in 🤩🤩
@@ClairesCraftyCornerThanks hun 👍
Would a spray sealant clear coat work on it?
1:30 the accent killed me 😂 amazing haha
Any idea what the outcome on aquacast would be? Anyone else tried it?
it was fine on my aquacast
Please retry this but seal it with resin or something else. This was so beautiful im so heartbroken it wasnt staying
Try folk art multi surface Paint.
I find 24 hours is not long enough for these products to be free of water. I weighed it a day after and a week later, major differences as the water evaporated.
Hello there 🖐🏻
