If you can't find abs sheets then you can also use pvc sheets that are easier to get. Use the 1/4" thick one. If you put some car door protection rubber trim on its border it will look cleaner and protect it better from shattering.
Nice video. Tip: instead of measuring a lot of points and then drawing a line use the bumper lip to trace the line directly. Since its off the car is easier to do and on the sides you simply push in a little to make the template shorter on the sides. When you cut the template the line will be perfect and you simply put it out in the bumper the distance you want. Way easier to sand and fit in the end.
hey bro nice job. if you ever use this material again get yourself a cheese grater tool and a red devil blade. I used to work in plastics and to shape and clean up edges like that we'd use these "cheese grater" blades that fit a yellow handle made by Stanley. once you finish shaping you use a red devil blade which takes the sharp edge off.
just move the bumper forward four and a half inches and trace it exactly and then move the bumper back and trace it again and that'll show you where it fits on also it needs to go farther under the car mount to a chassis Point otherwise the wind is just going to pull the bumper cover down and not affect the wheels at all
Should have made the side flush with the bumper and gradually getting wider from the curves to the front but otherwise awesome DIY. I just bought the "home depot lip" and going to be putting that on tonight! Can't wait for the finished product lol
I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my car, and while I was watching hour video it occurred to me that tracing the existing lip would give a perfect line, no? I don't have that quick release so I figure I could just place some bricks/boards underneath the cardboard template, trace the existing lip, move the cardboard to where I want the ñew extension, and trace most of it all over again, no?
Shnarkle VonBarkle yes, if I were to do it again I would just trace the lip out first and cut that with the added few inches from where you want it to start
What thickness is the sheet? I just made so.thimglike that mines a 3 peice. I tryed a couple differwnt thickness sheets..ended uo spending way to much. Not only did i scrap the original idea anc the b plan and the c plan...i ended up with a custom ass over built intake duct under the bumper flr my true cold air intake. Also custom. I basily re akinned the whole bumper!
I've been trying to find one for a lancer es but most are only made for the evo, thank you for the idea. Just some questions, Has it held up, and if you could of changed something, what would you change.
It'll definitely help the non-readers if you put in the description the hardware store and part number. I tried looking it up Menards online, but couldn't find it.
Just a recommendation here. If you go get the correct blade for cutting this, you dont get that junk in the first place. you can even use an ABS/PVC cutting blade as well as oil to ensure you dont have rough edges.
maybe a 1/4 inch. i got it from a local hardware store called menards, but home depot and lowes didn't have it, you might want to check amazon or ebay for abs plastic sheets
ABS is a bit flimsy for a front splitter though unless you brace it. Any downforce it produces would go more into flexing the splitter than pushing the car down.
Good video but slow down, felt like you were in a rush and couldn't hold the camera still. If your gonna make a how to video people need to be able to follow it without getting motion sickness.
Michael Bearse well this is just a giant sheet of ABS plastic i got at Menards but I’m not sure it’s in every state. Sheet metal i get at a local metal shop though too. If you need metal I’d just google for metal shops near you but i also live pretty close to a big city which is where i get it.
i want to know what that you cut.. that glass or something? please give me link or image example i might get it then i could make myrself for my car :)
Randall Cabading it's literally just a sheet of ABS plastic, however my Lowe's and Home Depot didn't supply it I got it from a another store similar to them called manards
C Sund OEM but if you have the 05-06 one they are slightly different. However if you are talking about my current set up you’ll see on my IG then they are still the same ones but painted with clear reflectors.
Philip Ramirez 🤙🏼 thanks man definitely when I have time and do things my goal is to start doing some more content like this and once RUclips is sustainable I'd love to do more and more of these type of install videos too stick around it's going to get better thanks for the support 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Grumpkin Mcfly no, but those edges like i mentioned trimming i did because they wanted to come up and warped a little bit. I’d recommend making the sides come in close to the same as the bumper
Where did you purchase that at?
atomiek Menards
wtf is that place?
Its a hardware store similar to home depot and Lowes we have all over here in Missouri.
How has it held up ? After time of being on the car ?
Same Productions where?? I live in st.louis and I've never heard of it
If you can't find abs sheets then you can also use pvc sheets that are easier to get. Use the 1/4" thick one. If you put some car door protection rubber trim on its border it will look cleaner and protect it better from shattering.
Gonna try this, thanks!
Looks like you put in a lot of work not only making it, but filming and editing. Nice job bro!
I respect that you did that yourself. Good job!
NANDO R/T thanks man, it's gone now though I broke it hahaha
Same Productions how did you break it?
CrazyPerfectionVids well it snapped from certain parts on the lip from hitting something on the road then got all warped.
Same Productions thanks 👍 I'm thinking about doing this. Not sure if I can make it look good though
Wtf is that please don't reproduce

He shoulda used a deburring tool... Woulda had those edges rounded in less than a minute lol
just move the bumper forward four and a half inches and trace it exactly and then move the bumper back and trace it again and that'll show you where it fits on
also it needs to go farther under the car mount to a chassis Point otherwise the wind is just going to pull the bumper cover down and not affect the wheels at all
Is it still attached? Do the support rods do justice when it comes to going high speeds without having it being forced down and break/crack?
9:04 sounds like he's singing to the beat 🤣
What kind of wheels? Those are nice!
Should have made the side flush with the bumper and gradually getting wider from the curves to the front but otherwise awesome DIY. I just bought the "home depot lip" and going to be putting that on tonight! Can't wait for the finished product lol
This is so inspiring! Thanks for the rundown I gotta try this on my Tc
Wait where u go to buy this since home depot nd lowes doesnt have it

@@SameProductions it looks good. Where do you get those circular snap devices tbat are attached to the wbeel wells? What are they called?
Where did you buy the abs plastic sheet buddy

looks good will b making one for the wife's car thanks for the good video
looks good, not bad at all. definitely has the look now
What thickness is the sheet? I just made so.thimglike that mines a 3 peice. I tryed a couple differwnt thickness sheets..ended uo spending way to much. On that plastic sheet you can use a blade/Stanley blade and cut that, comes up with no melted soot from high speed cutting
it's a great way to show how to make one. it looks alright. make it pop a little less from the sides.
Andrew Trstan I ended up trimming the edges, it's not on the car anymore now though I broke it lol
It seems easier to trace the bumper move it out and maybe make it wider on the ends after tracing.
A sheet of ABS in homedepot? Never see that material there
What is the thickeness?
Just a recommendation here. If you go get the correct blade for cutting this, you dont get that junk in the first place. you can even use an ABS/PVC cutting blade as well as oil to ensure you dont have rough edges.
Nice of you to help your sister with her car
Kaine Novak this is coming from someone trying to “unlock crackles and pops” like an Xbox achievement on a focus SE? 😂
Which is funny because it probably still sounds better than your trash
Kaine Novak plot twist this car is in the trash already. But you’re still trying to make your car a cereal with your rice crispy havin nugget
Same Productions comebacks are almost as bad as the splitter LOL
Kaine Novak LOL HAHAHA OMG LOLOLOLOL 💯💯💯🔥💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🚫🧢😂😂😂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👌🏼
what is the name of the two pieces of metal that are holding the bumper and spoiler.
are you able to bend it if you heat it up. ??
What lip kit did you buy and do they have factory colors?
How thick is your plastic and where do you find a big piece..iv looked everywhere
1/4 x 4 x 8 HDPE Panel??
maybe a 1/4 inch. i got it from a local hardware store called menards, but home depot and lowes didn't have it, you might want to check amazon or ebay for abs plastic sheets
I found it on ebay and amazon finally..cant wait to get home from work the 17th..building a double decker splitter 🍻
Whats the sheet called is it just black abs sheet
About to try this mod out within the next couple months, gave me a good idea what I want to try now!
ABS is a bit flimsy for a front splitter though unless you brace it. Any downforce it produces would go more into flexing the splitter than pushing the car down.
where do you buy the diy?a link pls?
A compass would work good to trace that curve 4.5 inches out
We get the same wobbly wheel here in the UK
Good video but slow down, felt like you were in a rush and couldn't hold the camera still. If your gonna make a how to video people need to be able to follow it without getting motion sickness.
Bro how thick is the abs plastic
You can go and mow grass with that splitter lol
and shovel snow
Just a tip, if you shoot at a slower frame rate the video won't be as shaky
Benjamin Korta and at the same time would be more blurry, lens I used just had no optical sabalization was the main issue, but thanks 👍🏼
I wanna make a Front Spiltter for my Accord I might make one for my Corolla XRS as well but I don't have the cutting tools like you
What’s the name of that plastic sheeting?
Mydude please tell me where I can get that sheet metal???? I need sheet metal somethin serious! But only find small ones. Without goin online.
Michael Bearse well this is just a giant sheet of ABS plastic i got at Menards but I’m not sure it’s in every state. Sheet metal i get at a local metal shop though too. If you need metal I’d just google for metal shops near you but i also live pretty close to a big city which is where i get it.
for the template i would recomend just buying a roll of thin cardboard sheet, if not just tape together paper and cut it out after to make it easier.
Where you get the support rods
amazon probably I don't remember exactly.
what u use for the front spliter? i wanna buy
i want to know what that you cut.. that glass or something? please give me link or image example i might get it then i could make myrself for my car :)
Hey man! I really enjoyed that video. Can you say what materials did ya use for this experiment?
Where did u go to get the sheet
What store did you buy the black sheet of abs at?
You got lip first? Might do this on my Eclipse. Looks awesome!
Is that a 1/8 or 1/4?
Nice bro 👌🏼👏🏼👊🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥🔥nice vid this is all I needed u showed me where to get the abs plastic sheet at 👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👊🏼👊🏼

Randall Cabading it's literally just a sheet of ABS plastic, however my Lowe's and Home Depot didn't supply it I got it from a another store similar to them called manards
Same Productions so what exactly is the plastic? Link?
What was the dimensions of the plastic you bought?
Arney Brittenham i don’t know big? Hahaha I would just measure the length of your bumper and make sure you get something that will be more than that
how much did that abs sheet cost you
How thick is that sheet
why didn't you moved the bumper forward and trace it ?😂
How would that help with the sides jack 😂
Bro what size the sheet when you bought it?
Big hahaha, i don’t know i would measure the length of your bumper end to end and just make sure whatever you get is larger than that
Maaaaaan. Nice vid but the end result was cut short. Cinematic shots of final look would have been nice bro.
What's the name of the material you used
Ajanie Proctor abs plastic sheet
It's clearly abs plastic.

Did you get any flop or bounce and high speeds?
Grumpkin Mcfly no, but those edges like i mentioned trimming i did because they wanted to come up and warped a little bit. I’d recommend making the sides come in close to the same as the bumper
Same Productions if put a 90 degree bend in the sides that might stop it from doing that? I'll give it a try. Thanks for the video man. Good work.
You haaaave to tell me what type of camera and lens you used 😅
