Yes! My friend called Paladin the weakest champion in the game, so I didn't even bother to try him out. But next time we're playing I will start leveling up Paladin.
@@veketal by far not true, the paladin is very good at early game and can hold his ground pretty well later on, he still lacks power compared to some other classes but he's not as bad as the witch hunter :p
As a fellow player with 40+ hours into the game, here are my beginning tips: 1. Paladin/Sorcerer are the 2 best character without needing to unlock anything. Though, personally i prefer warlock because he can regen hp and mana back but he doesnt scale well way later into the game IMO. Although paladin right at the start is abit painful to play because you don't have any upgrade on him. 2. Paladin IMO is the best farmer because he has movement skills which reduce the time you need to farm which in turns allow your to farm more. He also can block alot of projectiles which is extremely painful for beginners. 3. Right at the start, unlock black smith and apothecary so you can up your stats and have access to potion. 4. Focus on 1 character first and get him as powerful as possible so u can access higher level content which have better loot and exp. 5. Get a friend to carry you to kill the bosses to unlock the character bonuses which apply to all characters you own. Do that for all characters and use your high level character to carry your friends all characters as well. This helps both of you. The most important bonuses is sorcerer which increase mana regen which allows you to use more skills.
If you're brand new, go ranger. Fighting the first boss with a lvl 3-5 paladin with no passive bonuses from other classes, and like 1 blacksmith upgrade as a new player makes the game feel like something completely different than it is. You will spend so much time running and dying over and over with paladin without getting very far. Ranger makes it feel like a completely different game when you're new. It's 10 times easier to kill bosses from ranged, than it is up in melee. Eventually of course you can brute force bosses with paladin because you get enough upgrades. But it will take you way longer.
eh, kinda, kinda not. most bosses aren't really melee focused anyway, and if you're constantly moving around the bosses, it's hard for them to hit you. for example, doing the paladin, you can move aroudn the boss faster than it can usually throw earth fissures around you, if you just swing twice, stop attacking and back up a bit, earth fissure, repeat. the second boss is a bit harder, given it likes to go into spin to win barb mode, and you can't deal melee damage there. but a healing skill is REALLY fucking helpful earlier on, when you're just sort of screwed after a few hits, typically. it's not really that much of a downside, to be a melee class in this game. sure, ranger is probably easier for dealing with super early game, but 'learning' the game is far more important.
@KeithElliott-zd8cx true, just was speaking from my own experience. I would've learned just as much as a ranger, and probably faster because I would get further sooner. But anyway, like you said, kinda, kinda not lol. I see your point.
I wanna say that HOH has the best soundtrack of ANY game I’ve ever played. I’m 40 and started playing with a C64 my dad used to bring home from work. I say that because I understand how powerful nostalgia is etc but the HOH music is absolutely outstanding.
I found the music to be quite mediocre. Legend of heroes trails of cold steel, rogue legacy 2, several final fantasy games, wild arms, and some other classics I can't think of off the top of my head have better music, imo.
@@danm2084 nice. I still say HOH has the best soundtrack. Maybe it was the atmosphere I was in when first experiencing it or something like that. Whatever it is I love it.
Paladin the probably the worst choice as a first character… yes he has healing hands but that is a skill that needs to be unlocked and to do that you have to invest ore into the guild hall and have the stars(lvl points) to put into healing hands. So for your first ~3-5 runs you will be relying on food found in the lvls cause your potion will only help you once and it’s rare to find a fountain. Range is king, at least to start.
Which I think is a terrible tip, Paladin excels mid game but early game it is very difficult to use him because of his limited range. He has survivability but that's it. I'd say go ranger and then paladin. I also disagree with just powering up one character. Every boss you fight then upgrades all your characters through titles so raising them all together is very helpful.
Paladin is definitely what you start with but later when you start to get settled switch to sorcerer as it has high damage in groups and solo enemies and you will notice how much range it has so i also recommended staying behind wall but when you get skilled enough you will just rush in and twirl around enemies
why do i not have access to guild titles? ive killed the boss on regular difficulty and NG+1? do i have to finish the game as a paladin first? i just did it with the fire mage
i just bought it. i love games like this. i enjoy rogue-likes/lites. i love ARPGs and i love pixel art. games like Chronicon, It Lurks Below, Path of Exile, Children of Morta, CrossCode, etc. i haven't booted it up yet but im looking forward to starting later today at 5 bucks or w/e it is, you really can't be disappointed at that price point. though i also bought all the DLCs. think it was 12-13 bucks in total
I don’t know if anyone can help me here but me an friends are all playing together but we’ve been stuck on act 3 for a while are team is paladin sorcerer an archer It’s all out first time playing
