  • Here's a shorter video with a little experiment I've been wanting to try for a long time, I just wasn't sure if I could manage to do something with it. Sometimes it's fun to patch your modular in ways you've never tried ! Despite being "modular" I find it so easy to get too comfortable with it and patching it up always the same way, which can sometime leave me feeling uninspired. At the same time there is some beauty in exploring the intricacies of the same patch for a few weeks/months; but in between, or when the inspiration is nowhere to be found, it can be really fun to explore bizzaro stuff.

    Great showcasing of what modular means! I really like the idea to use an lfo with attenuater and offset (sending to a quantizer) to creat melodies.

      Yeah it can lead to really nice results ! You have a lot of control on the parameters but it can also be much less predictable than a classic sequencer.

    This is really cool I love that you can use modular in such creative ways like this. I really like using my filter8 as an osc for the low end. Did you use any sample & hold in this patch? I'd be curious to see it used as you described. I'm curious to learn more about logic modules in general and how people use different functions. It's not something that pops up in my workflow unless I'm just completely messing around

      I sold my Filter 8 but yes it makes a great osc, Contour 1 as well ! I didn't use a sample and hold there, but "standard" technique would be to run a bunch of lfos into attenuverters, run the results into a sample and hold (+ a quantizer if so inclined) to create the "melodies". That way you can influence the resulting sequence at several points in the chain and can get super interesting, repeating or non repeating results. If I'm being honest most of the time I don't patch things up like that but it's always good to remind yourself that you can !

      @@LucasMarchal Lucas, where did you manage to get your (new) Verbos modules? I'm from the Netherlands and no retailers seem to have any stock.

      @@noisevector I haven't bought any verbos modules in a while, except a Multistage and this one I got second hand.

    Thanks for inspiration. How do you like the joranalog contour? How do you use it ?

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 года назад +1

      Glad you found it inspiring ! I really like contour, it's super well featured. I most often use it like a slew limiter to slew CV but also sometimes as a classic EG; less often as an oscillator but it's also great at audio rate really. I love modules like that and wouldn't be against having another one, it's always useful.

    J'adore ce genre de patch, super génial avec le Sequencer / Programer Serge, avec un crossfader pour passer d'un row a l'autre, mmmmh c'est génial hahaha.

      Je me doutais que c'était le genre de truc qui te plairaient ;) Et oui en crossfade mmmh et Serge c'est parfait pour ça j'imagine, tout à fait la philosophie !
