I have met alot of people who have invested a 1000$ on Lens and camera but screwed themselves by not investing in lights, sound, actors, crews and dialogues. Can I just say, as someone who's had to deal with this recently, I love the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L II, however: It has an element that controls the aperture that zooms with the lens. This element wears down progressively the more you zoom with the lens and so you have to shell out to repair this one component every 3-4 years depending on usage (that's how long mine lasted). So I'm expecting to spend $500AUD every 3-4 years to maintain it, unfortunately. Hi Mark, Thank you very much for your tips ! I have a question regarding the variable polar pro ND filter (signature edition). You say in your video there is no vignetting, however, with the variable polar pro ND filter (2-5 stops) I have like a "cross" in the middle of the field and it is getting worse the further I go towards 5 stops. Can you help me on that point ? Thanks !

Basics Tips much needed, but well said Mark
Thanks mate!!
Thank you so much for replying me back much appreciated. Watching your channel I also started RUclips thanks a lot.
Thanks !
Hey Mark, great content man!
Do you regret buying the fx9? and what are your thoughts on the fimware V2?
Don't regret it, love it, but disappointed with V2 firmware
@@markbone Yeah same feeling over here, hope you're doing fine with the appartment and all! greets!
Used to own a Zeiss 55 but lost it… Mark, what do you recommend 50mm for the Sony e Mount?
I use the sigma art 50mm
@@markbone thanks so much for the quick response! As a videographer who mainly shoots weddings for paid work, and wants to move into fully commercial work, your channel is super inspiring to me. Love your content and hoping to join the art of documentary next year. I own the 24 1.4 GM thanks to your recommendation and have loved the 24, 50 combo.
Awesomeness , thanks for the big tip dude !

Manfrotto Tripod (190/FG25) it must be 25yrs old. Bought for photography but plenty stable enough for a Manfrotto Video head.
Colin Ludlow Manfrotto tripods last for decades!!
Great opening message. Obviously you read your bible. Possessions are not part of the message. Simple needs. Bravo.
Bible in your backpack 🤘🤘🙌🙌🙏
💯💯👌🏻
Really glad you save your bible
Nice content! (What’s the pro’s on that “top handle”?...)
Watch my video about handheld filmmaking!
Mark Bone say no more.
do you use lavs at all when you shoot documentaries or just shotgun mics and is it difficult to get consistent sound if you are using only shotguns?
Lavs!!! And shot gun. Need both
I have a Manfrotto which I bought 20 years ago.
I’m so guilty about using cheap tripods. I do a lot of live sports (switching between 4 cameras) so I needed 4 tripods. I bought 4 for $5 each from goodwill. Only 1 came with a quick plate. The rest I made out of a piece of hardwood I had lying around in the garage. They have actually been pretty great tripods.
So many tripods! That would get pricey
What about sigma 16mm f1.4?
It’s nice to know that your Bible is one of your important things.
0:32 weekago, weekagooo
Mark bone is the fucking man!
I’ve been wanting to do merch. Maybe this is the first t-shirt
The Bible - very crucial!
I can really relate to this tips
What about a good monitor? I never see you with a monitor. Is it overrated for you? I just bought a Shinobi. But am trying to figur out how to get the best quality with less gear.
Bro! I always shoot with a monitor!! You should watch more of my videos :) I advocate lots for external monitors
Great video mate - new sub here. Cheers #iSpike Western Australia
"Finally a beautiful day in Toronto" and a day later it snowed like crazy 😂..
Alexander Ciprian 😂 I know 🙃
how about camera to buy?
I got the rode videomic pro a while back and I'm getting a lot of static electrical interference.
Are you using long cable runs back to the recorder? Is the cable damaged?
Listing items saved from the flooding: "I grabbed my Bible..." - Yep, that's a like from me.
is canon better than nikon in filming?
Yeah but Panasonic is better then both & Sony is better than all.
Paid 600 for polarizer and vnd 2-9 stops polar pro hole in my pocket but worth it
it's the best man!
Man your tips are so obvious, but everybody always want to improve more on gear than on skill
