  • PALERMO SOLO TRIP | My First Time in ITALY
    I finally got to travel to Italy and I did it solo! I visited Palermo, the capital of Sicily. It was such a lively city full of friendly faces, beautiful architecture, and street food all throughout the busy streets. It was such an amazing experience to travel solo and it is something I'll never forget. Have you ever traveled solo? I would love to hear your experience. Thank you for all your support and lovely comments.

    We travelled to Sicily two years ago for my wife's birthday and our annivesary. We spent 10 days travelling around the island. There's so much to see! Highly recommend Catania and the east coast.
    When you go back be sure to rent a car and spend more time there. :)
    There are a lot of Scilian dishes that are 'accidently' vegan and the food is a mixture of so many different cultures. We thouroughly enjoyed it there. We enjoyed how unique the food was.
    And, yes, definitely a chaotic place at times!

    • @SamFournier
      @SamFournier  3 года назад

      The driving there is crazy, I would definitely need to go back with Paul as I don’t drive. I really wanted to visit more areas. Spending 10 days exploring must’ve been so lovely.

      @@SamFournier it was great but went by so quickly! Having a car really makes getting to interesting places easier. A smaller car is a good idea too for those hill top towns. We ended up with a small SUV which was great but was interesting at times!
      When you make your way to Santorini I recommend getting a small car there as well. Even if it's just a day.
      For both places I'd recommend going in cooler months as well. We went to both in August as that's when those dates are. Big mistake! So hot!

    I travel many years by myself and it’s the most relaxing liberating thing. Feels like a treat for myself. Wake up and make my own plans. Go with the flow. Palermo it was my last trip September 2019 just before the pandemic starts. I wanted to stay longer and explore Sicily but I said” I’m gonna come back next year” . Lesson learn. Live for the moment 🤷‍♀️
