The biggest problem I have with most of these young characters is that they all have the same personality, they're all snarky, quirky and arrogant. Disney writes every teenager the same way, so there's no room for nuance and therefore I have no interest whatsoever in a team with them.

    • @motherplayer
      @motherplayer Год назад +30

Exactly. And we're also considering potential actor disputes, pushing things back and whatnot, there is too much instability doing this kind of thing with live-action actors who can't just be written or replaced at the drop of a hat so easily given the MCU does still try to *ground* things.

That's exactly why I think The Champions are a better alternative to a young super hero team, because they can be made into their own team and not just kinda preparation for the Avengers, so eventually, they are a full grown team with lots of experience and at pair with the actual Avengers, while the Young Avengers could be some kind of initiative that only presents the same characters for a couple of movies before moving them to the big leagues, then move to the next ones or disintegrate the team at all

"Kid Loki is also part Frost Giant..."
Why does everyone forget that LOKI IS FULL JOTUNN?! Loki was born a Frost Giant RUNT glamoured by Odin to look Asgardian/Aesir when he rescued him from his abandonment. When Loki got grabbed by a Jotunn in Thor 1 when he goaded Thor into infiltrating Jotenheim, the glamour was interrupted and he turned BLUE. When he freezes Heimdall with the Casket of Ancient Winters after he learns his heritage, he turns BLUE.
One of the biggest letdowns of the Loki show was that not _one_ of the variants was in his native skin. I would have _much_ preferred following an abandoned Jotun runt that was secretly raised in obscurity on his home planet and still became a mischievous mage and marauder than freaking Sylvie. Would have been such a cool contrast to see someone who grew up ignorant to hating his heritage and shunned by his adoptive society for his sensibilities against a BLUE version of himself who only knows of his heritage and how his native society shunned him for his disability/deformity, and how BOTH their experiences pushed them towards magic and cunning to survive and thrive. What a MISSED opportunity.

    • @amorra6024

💯 I think that the Loki show has fundamentally misunderstood Loki's character a few times, especially when it came to his heritage/magical background.
I was so confused when Loki was first brought to the TVA headquarters, which claimed to have the capability of blocking magic. But somehow, the glamor spell that hid Loki's true Jotuun form didn't disappear at all?
Also, I absolutely *love* your idea of Loki meeting his Jotuun variant and actually wished that this was how the Loki show went.

30:36 With Sam Alexander's Nova there's a pretty easy way they can handle his powers. In the comics the helmet that gives him powers was his father's, who was part of an elite special team of the Nova corps. With that the MCU could easily rework it to where those elite Novas were the ones who had the more traditional comic style Nova powers, and we just didn't see any of them in the first Guardians film.

@@gwengrasso1887 That could maybe work, but I think that strays away from the idea of the Nova Force and the Xandarian Worldmind as the ancient thing that is the source of his comic powers. I think just retconning in the Black Nova's as the ones with powers is easier, especially since the telepathic link sounds more in-line with the mind stone than the power stone. It would be hard to explain them experimenting on the stone given how just making contact with it was so dangerous and nearly destroyed Xandar.
Plus depending on where they want to take his stories Sam does find a lot of ancient Nova helmets along the way which are imbued with power, having a history to it as just being a part of the Nova corps history would make it easier to bring in some of the wider concepts in those comics and build out his world, like maybe having Richard Rider show up later on as a veteran Nova.

I actually think we’re kind of over complicating the whole Young Avengers/Champions storyline. I think Kang/Iron Lad will be at the center of their formation to tie the team into Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars and I think the roster will stay pretty traditionally comics accurate as well. It doesn’t really matter if the characters get older either because they will just be the “younger” Avengers either way. Additionally, even if a younger character isn’t on the main roster, they can be part of an expanded network of younger heroes (think OG 6 vs Expanded Avengers roster). And finally, characters like Spider Man and Kamala Khan are strong enough (popular) and have enough ties to their older mentors, that they can be on any team including the main Avengers

Couple notes: I believe Kid Loki did leave the Void in Loki Season 1, IIRC we see him enter the portal Mobius makes and leaves through, so he's likely in the TVA somewhere. Also, we have actually met Morgan Le Fay in the MCU, she's the villain of Runaways Season 3 played by Elizabeth Hurley.
Besides that though, I'd be curious to know your thoughts on Axl from Love and Thunder (Heimdall's kid), the older Morgan Stark we were going to get in Endgame played by Katherine Langford, and potential appearances from Franklin and Valeria Richards, Blade's daughter, Iceman, and Firestar and which team in the video you think they could show up in, as well as Harley from Iron Man 3.

Unless you live in a parallel timeline, that above didn't happen. Period. Mobius went through that portal alone. Kid-Loki even explicitely _said_ onscreen in that final episode that he and Classic Loki (and the alligator) would stay in the Void as it was "their home" now. So I don't know what you were hallucinating while you watched that final season 1 episode of _Loki,_ but what you claim happened never happened.
Also, if Kid-Loki _ had_ gone with Mobius (which, again, he didn't), it would be rather weird storytelling-wise if the character then just vanishes from the story entirely while Mobius goes to confront Renslayer, wouldn't it.

    • @lordofninjas1

@@TF2CrunchyFrog you are aware that tagging exists in RUclips comments right? It's unnecessary and redundant to put "username wrote..." when people can literally just check the comment thread to see what was written. You literally could have just started your comment with the "unless you live in a parallel timeline..." thing and have it make more sense and not be redundant and such.
Also, it wasn't the final episode that it happened in, it was Episode 5 of 6. If that is what was said it's been a while since I've seen the show, so I didn't recall that, which is why I mentioned what I did, in other words, rather than being rude about it like you are, you should cut me some slack. Also, I never claimed it happened, I never once said "this is absolutely 100% unarguably no matter what happened", which would be claiming, instead I used terms like "I believe" and "IIRC (If I Remember Correctly)" indicating that I'm aware that I could be wrong, but this is how I remember it going down.
Also, it wouldn't necessarily be weird for Kid Loki to not be there when Mobius confronted Renslayer. Just because we don't hear about or see something happening doesn't mean it didn't happen, for all we know he could have had Kid Loki in a room and said "I have something important to do, I'll be right back to help you" like maybe he was going to tell Renslayer about it and have her use her high ranking power to send Kid Loki back to his timeline or whatever, or perhaps Mobius let him go back to his timeline or another timeline by himself, or maybe something else entirely. Would you want someone that's being tortured and abused there while you confront their torturer and abuser? same logic here. Also, Mobius wouldn't want Kid Loki there because if he had him there Renslayer would immediately know somethings up and it would wreck Mobius's plan and everything. It's weird that if he stayed in the void that he didn't come and help with the Alioth battle like Classic Loki did.

There aren’t actually many phase 1 or 2 characters left that could reasonably form an Avengers team so by the time we’re done with the multiverse saga these heroes from phases 3 and mostly 4 will be the de facto Avengers, especially by the time we finish secret wars there won’t be many if any survivors left from the original phases by that point I bet

Imagine if, for example, all of the new shows had Wong in them at some point. If Sam and Bucky showed up in a couple of the other shows. And, importantly, if some version of Kang was the bad guy in many of them. The thing that makes the MCU compelling as a whole is the connections, and it seems like they're making less of them when they could be making more. Katie from Shang-Chi is the one set up as Avengers archer. Why else it was mentioned that she was also needed in the end of the film?

Listening to this after seeing all those D+ shows... I'm already tired of the teamups even before they happen, AND if you tie them to a gimmick of their age they will grow out of that gimmick by their second movie. "Hey, let's do a high school teamup! By the next movie they will be... out of high school since that's how linear time works, heck!", "Okay, collage age teamup! Whops, same thing!".
So yeah, not very optimistic about how this will go...

I’m not a huge stickler for comic accuracy but there is some great relationships in the comics I feel like they need to bring into the MCU, to name a few:
Nova (Sam) and Spider Man (Miles) should be friends maybe even before they join whatever team they’re on, they’re characters are very similar and their friendship in the comics is one of the great parts about both they’re characters, so if they can’t get the rights to bring in Miles yet then they should wait until they can to bring in Sam
Hulking and Wiccan need to be on the same team, they’re like top 5 marvel couples and it would be a crime to not get them in the MCU if they have either character
Iron heart and Viv, doesn’t really matter for Iron Hearts character but they’re relationship is a huge part of Viv’s backstory and one that I don’t think the MCU should take out, I’m less passionate about this one because they could probably replace Riri with a few other characters who Viv could fall in love with, but they’re friendship in the comics is pretty sweet and I think it would be cool and not to much to put them on the same team

about Kamala's power the way I understood it going by what Iman says, her mutation allows her to control and reshape light
in theory any half noor exposed to something from their dimension would gain hard light powers, be it the bangle or the veil
But like we saw with Kamran, they have zero control over how noor materializes or what shape it takes
Kamala's mutation basically means she has complete control over how the noor manifests and mostly uses it for embigening to fit her on your face, zero combat experience kind of fighting style

I think half of these people will just go to the next main avengers team cuz realistically whose gonna be on the next avengers team?
    Bucky is in the thunderbolts.
Sam, Shang- chi, strange, and wong are like the only actual standing avengers
    Everyone else is settling down
    Rhodey is leaving
    Clint is probably leaving
    Thor is likely leaving too
Spider-Man is probably staying solo aside from crossover movies
Clearly any hero’s older than 20 are being teased for the new avengers team formed after the Kang dynasty.
I think marvel is essentially becoming more for teens all together based on their humor so the main avengers team will be led by 20 and 30 year olds instead of 40 year olds like the original lineup.

While there is definitely an age gap between members of the Young Avengers and Champions and there's quite a few comic team members in the MCU, I don't see the point in splitting the MCU take on the young hero team into two different groups. Even if they function differently in the comics there's no reason the MCU can't combine the concepts like they've done many times before

  • @TheKPhillip

I think the MCU is getting way too unwieldy with far too many characters to put into movies. They kinda just need to pivot to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and others, while perhaps leaving the legacies for TV shows, but in a more manageable way.

I have a sneaking suspicion we will only see Tommy when the X-men come to the MCU, because he is perfectly fit to be a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants, with Magneto being the leader and his uncle not being able to be a member like he was in the comics, and his boyfriend being an X-men.

Amadeus Cho appeared in the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, without becoming a Hulk. Instead, they gave him the Iron Spider suit. They could alwaus do something similar in the MCU.

I love the context you have for creating separate Young Avengers and Champions teams but I will not take this Nova erasure! There is a confirmed Nova project in the works and honestly I love the slight tie in to Marvel Cosmic since the MCU only brings it up when someone is directly in space.

Nova is soooo easy to fix, regular nova corp cop then with an event (a accident or whatever) with some type of cosmic energy makes him have those powers. He could have the weight similar to iron man of him being a source of power people want to exploit whether it's enemies or Nova corp, has the comedy or goofyness like Deadpool. I think it'll work
