    Why the horribly wide vibrato at times in the opening and over pressurising the bow, and total overuse of portamento?It’s a close up recording, in a small hall (LSO St Luke’s). Capucon never used to play like this…

      Actually he allllways played like this 😂😂😂😅 it's a matter of taste if you like it ot not... I personally find It ok in the context of elgar concerto.

      Wide Vibrato is ESSENTIAL for Edgars Cello Concerto, and wide vibrato makes it more soulful

      @@theoldar Kind of true. I've heard Dvoraks Cello Concerto like 3 times in the last 4 years here in Raleigh, and not once have they played the Elgar. I'm sure i'll be played at some point, but for sure the Dvorak is a lot more popular.
