Concentration extrême, exigence, volonté âpre, sensibilité aiguë... Tout est engagé pour la nuance et la beauté Merci Gautier Capuçon pour cette interprétation sublime comme bien d'autres...
Magical! Listened to the Album earlier in the morning as soon as it was on Apple Music, magnificent! Congratulations to Gautier Capucon, amazing conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, the London Symphony Orchestra!
Why the horribly wide vibrato at times in the opening and over pressurising the bow, and total overuse of portamento? It’s a close up recording, in a small hall (LSO St Luke’s). Capucon never used to play like this…
@@theoldar Kind of true. I've heard Dvoraks Cello Concerto like 3 times in the last 4 years here in Raleigh, and not once have they played the Elgar. I'm sure i'll be played at some point, but for sure the Dvorak is a lot more popular.
I love the recording quality of todays performances. What a time to be alive. Capuçon is a class act. The orchestra ATE.
So expressive and with so much emotion!! ❤ well played Gautier! I ❤ it!

Great performance. Thank you for sharing.
Impressionnant par sa virtuosité et l'élégance de son jeu, Gautier CAPUCON impressionne toujours.
Wow, Elgar, played with full of emotions and empathetic.🎻❤ Thank you for the recording. 🙏

Imposible no comparar todas las interpretaciones de este concierto con la increíble grabación de Jacqueline Du Pre

Actually he allllways played like this 😂😂😂😅 it's a matter of taste if you like it ot not... I personally find It ok in the context of elgar concerto.
@@JoseJimenez-tc6ij I must have heard him on an abnormal day then! I can’t remember what I heard him do early in his career… anyway YMMV!
Wide Vibrato is ESSENTIAL for Edgars Cello Concerto, and wide vibrato makes it more soulful
I understand absolutely nothing in that sentence, but it sounds professional.
The single most unfairly neglected 20th century piece.
Neglected? It's played all the time
@@shmalfie8674 Maybe today it is played more, but I suspect that the majority of classical music fans have never heard it live.
