If you're asking if you can directly transfer games from one external drive to another external drive via the PS4, the answer is no. You would need to transfer the game from the first drive to the PS4's internal drive, then from the internal drive to the second drive. Since only one external drive can be supported at a time, there is no workaround for this with the PS4's current functionality.
I believe that internally as well one could store max up to 8TB. Granted there really isn't any 2,5" 8TB drive existing, but luckily 4-6TB internal drives can be good enough.
THANK you so much brother...U really sorted me out with this video.. Just wanna ask if 2 hard drives can harm the PS4 in anyway..?? I mean did u face any problem while swapping between the two apart from the time it takes to recognize the another one..?? Can i use 2 hard drives on my ps4 without any hassle ..??
Thanks for the question. No, this has never caused any adverse issues for me so long as you follow the process I detailed. In fact, I have since traded out my traditional HDDs seen in this video for 8 TB external SSDs and it works even better! Hope that helps.

CIVICMINDED Lesyk- Hi there, thanks for the video, I have a couple of additional questions for you. I currently have an og ps4 with a 2tb Seagate external drive, does your method work with Seagate drives too? I'm guessing yes. My 2nd question is are there any risks? Have you noticed any data corruption or issues loading games? Thanks.
The manufacturer of the drive is less important than the other specs (e.g., must be USB 3.0, must not exceed 8 TB, etc.). No, I have never encountered any data corruption issues, lagging loads, etc. Hope that helps!
Hello,i allready have a 500gb external and want to upgrade to 2tb.If i erase all my games of the external(i will revdownload them to my new one),will i lose any progress (saves)of the games?Because all the save files i can find are in the internal hard drive. Thanks in advance!
No, you won't lose any progress because as you've already said, the game progress saves are housed on the internal hard drive by default. You should be safe, but I would always recommend backing up those saves to the PlayStation cloud and/or a separate flash drive just in case.
So if I wanted to have both external hdd to transfer one to another I wouldn't be able too? Would I have to transfer everything back into my internal hdd and then transfer to my new hdd or do I have to delete everything from my old hdd and then connect my new hdd? (From a 1tb external hdd currently to a new external 8tb hdd)
This is my question as well I wanna know if I can transfer my existing data from my 1TB external hard drive to my new 2.0TB external but I feel you’re gonna have to transfer through your ps4 and then to your new external hard drive manually
Yes. You must transfer from original hdd to the ps4 then send that same data from ps4 to new hdd. This can take a good amount of time since you'll be sending the data is chunks small enough to fit on the ps4 hdd at one time.
this dude went on a rampage of fucking over 12 minutes but it only need around 2 minutes speech. let me sum it up for yall, yes u can use as many external hard disk to store ur ps4 games, as long as they don't go over 18tb. for internal hard disk, u can swap ur original one out with a 2 tb hard disk ( no more than 2tb). u can only store games on ur external hard disk , all ur game saves, screen shot will be store in ur internal hard disk. u can only operate 1 external hard disk at a time.
Sorry for the "rampage", but this was intended as a how-to video (not sure if you're familiar with what those are); not a "speech". When it comes to messing around with game data and hard drives, I would prefer to be as clear and explanatory as possible so as not to cause anyone any issues should they try to attempt what I'm suggesting. But it seems to me you didn't pay much attention anyway because I never claimed 18 TB to be the firm limit; rather that my current configuration was setup to accommodate that amount. Obviously, more space could be made available via swapping drives. Nonetheless, if I'm ever in the unlikely need for dismissive, arrogant, and grammatically lazy taglines for future videos, I will be sure to contact you. Thanks!
can you transferred games from one usb drive two 2nd up gade usb drive?

This helped me save a lot of time and headaches

I remember seeing one although it’s over 1000 dollars

Yes you should be fine. Just follow this video because it helped me

Really helpful
Trying to transfer ps4 games and files from one external hdd to another external hdd. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Because you can't have both external disks activated at the same time, you have to transfer to the system storage temporarily.

This appears to be the case. I am facing this right now. I have 1.8 TB I need to shuffle over to a 4TB.
Did you figure it out?
