Six days on the road with a small group of friends, riding 1,500 miles through the USA and Canada. Circumnavigating Lake Erie and Lake Huron while seeing all five of the Great Lakes. We called it the Great Lakes Escape, but it was really a reason to hit the road, disconnect the internet and have some fun. Living in the moment, sharing our experiences with each other at each stop or at the end of the day. Good company, good vibes and good times. The bikes were a mix, from a 1959 Harley-Davidson Panhead chopper and a 1967 Norton Atlas cafe racer to a couple of Sportsters, an FXR and a Softail. We wanted to share the good times we had on this trip with you, so we brought our friend Leland along to film some of the fun along the way. What we hope you get from this video is that trips like this are amazing and completely attainable. These are the good old days happening right now. Mark some days off on your calendar, grab some friends and hit the road! It's a wonderful way to see the world. Get out there and ride... Adventure awaits.

Born and raised in Michigan. Great Lakes rides are awesome.
Awesome trip. Thanks for sharing🌞
One of the best bike films ever. Absolutely Priceless. Extraordinary effort Lowbrow Customs.
Great bunch of people enjoying life, Thanks for sharring
Nice vid. Did the Superior Loop solo in early 80s on a 1972, CB350. No support vehicle, cell phone and internet not invented...camped every night.
We road up from Iowa to Duluth and the North Shore 10 years ago. Up the Mississippi from Dubuque, crossed over at Lansing, and up the Wisc. side through LaCrosse, Chippewa Falls to Superior. Hung out in Duluth and road the North Shore. Good times and I recommend it!
Sounds perfect.
Mark Jacobs savage! I would be willing to bet it was one of your best trips to....
My bet is these days nobody would ever do anything without having a cell phone with them, including me. It seems that everyone has to social media everything these says for a pat on the back, a thumbs up or an atta boy...in the old days we just did it, celebrated with a beer and a few pictures ON FILM and got by just fine without a sag wagon following us to pick up any parts. That's what our thumbs was for...
I can tell you I don't think I would do it without a cell phone. I'm not on FB, Don't really know what a twitter is but I am usually solo. Knowing should something happen I can at least get in touch with someone gives me great piece of mind. I wish it was like it use to be but the world has changed so much I think I would be scared to stick my thumb in the wind now a days.
No photos...no social media coverage..''camera pans out to a guy taking photos while riding with high tech camera''
Epic video haha!!
Riding, Friendship, Memories.
How can anyone hit the thumbs down button on this video? This is amazing!! This type of ride is on my bucket list.
Love seeing the old Norton. Had one for a while in High School in 1959-60. Ride a Harley Low Rider and a 68 BSA chopper right now. 76 years old. Loved you're vid.
Wow the panhead deleivered , I ha be a shovelhead and when she's not a pain she will give and keep giving non stop also . Sweet bikes and video 👍
I like the dude with the camera cruising along no fucks given snapping shots all over the place. Awesome production value, great editing, color grading. I like it.
Beautiful countryside . I envy you guys. My longtime desire has been to see the great lakes and to ride New Hampshire in the fall .love their state motto .Live Free or Die. Oh yeah, it's fun being chased by dogs on those country roads. Ride safe amigos...
This is a dream come true for all bikers I think.. hope can experience a trip like this
I love that you come from all walks of life and you all ride different bikes. It’s about the experience. Who cares what you ride. Kudos guys . Subbed!
The production of this video was amazing. Sign me up
My god. The seats on those bikes have my ass sore just looking at them. Took a sportster on a weekend trip just over 1000km and I couldn’t feel my ass for 85% of it. These riders are as legit as they come. Was cool to see Bridalveil Falls, so off the beaten path (good 2hr round trip off the highway they would have had to been riding to complete this trip) but so cool to see. I’m itching for the open road now. Thanks for sharing, I think many of us in the comments would love this trip itinerary to ride it ourselves if you would so kindly share it. Cheers.
we basically took the road closest to the lake and stuck to it for the most part. some reason the photos are missing from this blog post but. there are the words that go through most of the trip. www.lowbrowcustoms.com/blogs/events-features/the-great-lake-escape-2018?_pos=2&_sid=245984f6c&_ss=r
What a truly beautiful video! Friends enjoying the American and Canadian countryside. No crappy attitudes, just loving the ride! Thank you so much for sharing!
Cranking it up in our part of the North. Rochester NY riders thank you.
Good on ya bikers! Was a cool shot rolling off the transport ship. Love that sportster the cameraman was taking pictures from. 🔥💯🔥
And this is why I am selling my blown alcohol front engine dragster. Drag racing is awesome, but I have always wanted a bike. This looks like a great fucking time.
49 secs in this video I'm love with everything I see 🙈
“ Happy ST. Patrick’s Day Neal ‘Patrick’ Fry “
You guys rock! I'm leaving Long Island Friday morning for Rochester NH to meet a childhood friend, haven't rode with him since 2012. We're headed North. Back home Monday. Can't wait, this really got me stoked!
Great video. Love road trips. Takin another this spring. Doesn’t get any better than this.
Im from grand rapids Michigan and a trip out to lake Michigan at sunset thru the twisties is the best I'm closer to the west coast though.
I made a 4000 m tour last summer riding my Road King from MN to CA. Last year, from MN across ten states for 5500 m. I loved it. I am planning for next year tour now. And I go shopping with my Vespa.
This hands down the most awsum motorcycle video ever made, it is total genius, I don’t know how it’s possible but some how it was, perhaps the planets alinghed, or it was a full moon, or maybe the dog didn’t poop in the front yard that day, but whatever hopefully it can be replicated
Awesome video. Just returned from a 2300 mile trip with my buddy and this just made me smile.
A true biker lives his life fully bcox 2 wheels moves the soul l, love from Pakistan
2:30 - Allanburg bridge maan, nice choice! Good ol' Erie canal. Sometimes nothing beats our Canada!
Ride hard and God speed brothers From all the boys here in New zealand 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🍺🍺🍺🍺
I lived there for 18 years on east side of MI. Miss riding there.
Love that Norton. A dream machine.
Really great editing and camera work. Looked like a great time!
I was born in Sault Ste. Marie. Lived right across the street from the Soo Locks. My dad was stationed at Kincheloe air base and always enjoyed motorcycles. I think the yoopers appreciate bikes all the more due to the short riding season. Great video and makes me want to go back there.
Love your video's. Life's always better with friends.
This video is so great for friends who loves to go for an adventure. Keep on inspiring us. Love this video very much...
New England winter in full swing and this video breaks the blues. Super edit putting this story together. Thanks for sharing.
Love it. I'm a Michigander and I need to do this trip
Really great video and real to see.
Cool video. A few years back a group of us (5) did some of the same roads you folks did on your trip on our way to Alberta from Long Island. Nice to see the Tobermory ferry to Manitoulin island. North of the lakes is some of north Americas best riding. Loved the bikes you rode !!!
really dope footage
The last time I was in Canada I was aboard my 67 BSA Lightning which I still have tucked away in the barn and this all took place in 1972. We finally found a motel that would rent us a room and this was around the 6th motel that we stopped at and all with there vacancy signs all lit up I guess they didn't like motorcycles up in that part of the world. Well as we were riding around up there one of the sets of points went south on the old Beezer and she started running on one cylinder the cherry red pipe looked real nice at night. Well when this happened we headed for home and we were able to get back as far as Sandy Lake Pa. and I figured I pushed the old girl far enough. Sent my Brother back to Ohio to get his van and the Beezer got to rest the rest of the way back home...oh the memories.
Oh and I almost forgot excellent video I would like to do this trip someday you put a lot of thought into making this video. And excellent Ariel shots I would like to know how you accomplished those scenes?
Pretty cool! I loved it. Vintage bikes, wonderful landscapes and friendship. Perfect. Congrats! Cheers
The drone shots are amazing!
Big thumbs up to the video production team !Being more the adventure touring type I probably wouldn't choose any of the bikes you guys did but I respect your choices . Totally agree with a motor , 2 wheels , friends , and open roads as being the perfect combination . Keep up the good work !!
what an awesome video. Loved the old bikes and the fact the ladies also rode along too.
Wonderful landscapes - looks much like Finland, Europe!
This is such a great video and nice to see all kinds of riders with different bikes and experience.
So beautifully shot guys. I absolutely love this video.
Love this !! great film, you guys have inspired us all !! be safe
Love this video, it is what riding should be. Im from Australia but have spent plenty of time in Michigan doing some rides around lake huron...This is inspiring me to go back and do some more! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Northern Michigan is a great place to ride ! Check out route 2 west across the upper peninsula it follows along lake michigan's shore .
There is a benefit ride for the veterans home in Marquette put on by the CVMA the second Saturday in August every year that myself and 5 of my friends have been riding up there for the last couple of years and it is a great time . I look forward to this ride every year we have gone .

lowbrowcustoms picked up the 2-1. Comes in Thursday. Can't wait to hear that thing purr. Between this video and "27 days under the sky" I am already planning a trip down the coast and back for next summer.
Wow , awesome video guys. Cant believe what you were riding, as I ride a 2005 Yamaha royal Star Touring
Great movie. We have many adventures here in the Carpathians . I have HD Dyna lowrider 2004. Best regards from Romania.
Bucket list! Cheers to Lowbrow Customs. Thanks for sharing this.
If this ride is still a think I would gladly join in. I live just south of Cleveland. Don’t exactly have a custom bike but would gladly be apart of the journey.
Yep.. just added this to my to do list...
Add a Lake Superior loop and that is one heck of trip.
What an amazing video
great video! The bent over riding positions make my shoulder hurt to watch, lol....but I get it -it's all in what you like. I'm 6'4" (oe 6'5" if someone short if measuring) and I have 16" LA Choppers on my 2000 softail and had 14" LA Choppers on my 2016 Limited (sold it after a year...big baggers don't have any soul for me) I just rode about 2000 miles myself - best days of riding in my 40 years! (yet, lol!) I usually just go alone and camp....but the aspect of a group is cool too. Done lots of group rides...but it's hard to get others time lined up, where to's agreed upon, etc.. Anyway - great video - thanks for sharing it!
Haha I hear ya! I am the guy riding the Panhead with the springer front end. I am 6'5".. the bike is comfortable but I make it look small!
great video! much love from new jersey, this is why lowbrow is the best! see you at fuel!
Great video guys. Theres nothing better than a trip on the bikes with friends. You also went through my town which is pretty cool!
Thanks for sharing, motivational, inspiring. 🤘🏻🙏🏻
Always inspiring guys! Love your products and spirit!
Astro Turf is right. I'm glad to see younger riders getting back to RIDING the damn bike instead of 10 miles to a bar to sit around all day, get drunk and try and make it 10 miles home.
Seth Thomas yeah, I mostly do my own thing. Can't be bothered stopping off where bikers hangout. Happiest putting miles down rather than the social side of things. I get annoyed when the stops are longer the the ride.
That's cool. Sure I might do a little bar hopping every once and a while and if I do that the bar is 50 miles away, but I make it clear that I do not get all fucked up and ride. A beer, some water or pop and its on the road.
Also, I like to just ride my bike. To work, the hardware store, a cafe, a friends house, etc. Somehow the day to day utility of a motorcycle has gotten lost on most Americans, and that's sad. You don't have to put on the "biker costume" to go down to the hardware store a few miles away, just sensible clothing. Ride safe and have fun everyone-Cheers!
Seth Thomas "biker costume" ha ha. Suppose biker costume includes (a) full race one piece leather power ranger outfit, (b) "old man" armoured jacket and unmatching trousers, (c) denim and leather Klingon warrior. I used to put on (b) but for nipping to the shops it's a bit over the top. Sometimes I'm a bit naughty and go full squid.
LOL. You got it down!
Seth that's funny, Biker costume! I've used that for years. Saw online Bagger costume = wolf tee shirt, bandana and a shitty mustache. I believe it's for the "I financed my first bike guys" we all know the type. They buy a bike put it in their garage. 3 years old with 1000 miles on it.
Looks like an amazing route.
Great looking Ride Guys, and Gals.
Great footage! Excellent!
Awesome ride guys, keep living the dream 🤘🏼Regards 🇨🇷
